It's not that terrible.  Strangely, as well, he's played a comparatively large amount of games against the better sides:

Wins with Olsen in goal:  Spurs, Hibs (twice), Legia, Burnley
Draws with Olsen in goal:  Brentford, Chelsea
Losses with Olsen in goal:  Man City, Stevenage, Liverpool, Man Utd, Newcastle, Everton

He's not a great keeper, he won't be here after this season but he's not a completely hopeless guy in goal at all.  The drop off from Martinez to Olsen is big, but he's still good enough for us to beat, say, Brighton.  If we can't do that it'll be because the rest of the starting eleven haven't turned up rather than just Olsen.

I know, he's obviously not a terrible keeper in any way. He's decent.

But the difference in quality between him & Emi is what does it for me. You can see how the defense is less confident when he's at the back which affects our overall mental side of the game. When there's less trust, there's less confidence and more likely that a mistake will be made.

Oh well, it is what it is and maybe us knowing that it'll be Olsen and not Martinez between the sticks will better prepare the squad. I hope he plays his best games for us, because these are both pivotal games in our season.

We have a fantastic record against them. No need for that.

We do, but we have a terrible record with Olsen in goal. I really do not trust him in goal, but I hope I'm proven wrong.

Stuff like this exposes an ugly side of our fanbase now… starting to resemble the arrogance and entitlement of other fanbases we usually criticise… thought we could have a lot more class…

Don’t like this turning on our best players… we can’t manage with only 11 players too… we need a strong and varied squad with plenty of options… that’s the most obvious lesson from this season and the adversity we have faced.

What happens when Dougie plays well again? Oh, we shouldn’t sell for less than 150m??

Too much of this clamour for selling players and wheeling and dealing… it’s very difficult to replace your best players and most of us don’t have the patience for new players to develop and establish themselves either… one bad game and the knives are out immediately! 🤦‍♂️

look, we are all disappointed especially giving a 2 goal lead away

but having read every post up to now this crap performance and bottle job and dropped points was all Olsens fault

Olsen was awful, he was crap, he doesn't command the area etc etc

we did not concede a 2 goal lead due to Olsen......far from it...but hey ho

    haters always gonna hate

    @ChicagoVillan1983 @bojong @osmark86 @brummybloke @DJ_Villain @sheepyvillian

i'm naming and shaming....put these words together wobble give head...others shit players performances....manager it wrong got

if i get a warning so be it but bloody hell...

oh, and i aint responding to any one of you who put something back at me because i can't be arsed as it will most probably be bollocks

I stand by my opinion that Olsen doesn't command the area well enough.

Am I happy about the point against a tough Chelsea? Yes.

Do I think we would have gotten all 3pts with Emi still on? Impossible to say, but much more likely.

In Olsen's defence he did make a great save near the end. He was also partially to blame for it happening though.

I think he did reasonably well tbh, he's not at fault for either of the goals, and yeah he's a drop off from one of literally the world's best goalkeepers, but for a backup, he did well, and made some good saves.

Luiz and Tim let us down, not Olsen.

Yeah tbf he had some good saves, but we always look shakier when he is playing imo.

  6. Good little read about the doom & gloom of modern football:

The Spanish have a saying. “I kill a dog and you call me a dog killer.” As fans of Nottingham Forest find their club themselves labelled “Rule-Breakers”, locked in the stocks and stripped of their points for overspending during the last accountancy window they may find the ironic phrase useful. Now ‘Rule-Breakers’ precedes their name as if it is something connected to their identity forever.
