    Whats does SCA mean?

Dont think its as simple as just comparing player to player, you have to consider that one team finished 11th, with enough points to usually get you 7th) and the other finished just above the drop zone.

Also the teams style of play, for example the same set of players struggling under Bruce suddenly became very attacking and dominating games under Smiths tactics.

Sean Dyche is more similar to Bruceball, I bet Jacks stats under the 2 managers were extremely different in the same season under Bruce and then Smith.

I'm not sure there's a fair way to compare players in differing scenarios using stats, but using my eyes I see El Ghazi as wasteful and McNeil being good under pressure with a fine passing range. I think you put McNiel in a better team (one that likes to attack) with better players around him and you see his stats improve tenfold.

How is he better than El Ghazi?

All El Ghazi ever does is cut inside and shoot, and occasionally one will fly onto the top corner and everyone thinks hes amazing for a few weeks.

I find him the most frustrating player in our squad, theres a reason we are looking for players in his position. So many times you see someone free who he can square the ball to for a good chance but he messes it up getting tackled trying to cut inside or blasting it into row z. The frustrating thing is that he shows glimpes of composure (for example when taking penalties) but he lacks this compsure in open play for some reason. If he could learn to calm down in attacking situations he might see what the better players see, but he always seems to be in a rush without realising whats going on around him. I'd love to see his chance creation stats as I believe they will be extremely low.

Dwight McNeil actully has the ability to pick passes out and I think he is one of the best at mid to long range passers in the league, rarely loses possession and is quite tricky as well.

Dont think hes quick as El Ghazi, but he definitely a better footballer, of that theres no doubt.

  3. Does anyone know if the package includes away games for the u23/u18 live games?

They only have the one camera angle anyway, so it's only a matter of taking just 1 camera along, so I don't see why not.

Guess they'd have to have some kind of agreement with the home side though, but shouldn't be difficult for these games. It's not like there's a million people looking to watch these that the hosting side would lose money.

Where is it available? Can you get it on the actual TV at all?

Nope, will be online. Your best bet is to plug your laptop in to your TV with HDMI.

Smart TVs have browsers, if not you can download one from your built in app store

I watch all the youth games and pre match pressers etc this way directly from AVTV, much easier than connecting your laptop!

It was the safe option after the 2022 disgrace pushed by Plantini (also to blame for the 2020 set up).  North America have oven ready stadiums and massive tv contracts/commercial partners. Same reason why LA are having the Olympics yet again after the Rio debacle.

Yeah but so have we, and we haven't had it since '66

I’d like Japan to get it. They’ll have missed out big time over the Olympics in terms of revenue, tourism and pride so it’s a chance for them to get a big event again with all fans in attendance.

Didn't they have it as recently as 2002?

Then again, USA had it as recently as '94 and have managed to get it again so soon.

  8. I fear the stunt pulled by English, Spanish and Italian clubs with the failed super league has left a bad taste in the footballing world, so can't see it being awarded to any of these countries for a long time.

It's been the same ranges for many years. You are free to start your own polls though

    1. Champions League
    2. Europa League
    3. Top half
    4. Bottom half
    5. Relegation

Don't think it warrants 2 polls lol, just a suggesting going forwards to get a more accurate feeling of people's thoughts.

  10. 11th to 17th is a bit of a large spectrum compared to the other options.

Choosing that option covers both of; similar position to last year narrowly missing the top ten, also surviving on the last day like the season before.

makes you wonder why we released him?, to save salary?, or that he didnt want to be 2nd choice at Villa?, but was happy to be second/third choice at Manure for more wages?

Think he started his career there, so is probably a fan.. meaning he'd rather sit on their bench than ours.

Personally I think he's better than Henderson and De Gae (on current form) so he probably feels he's got a good chance of being the number 1

  12. Buendia is a class player whos proven how good he is over the last few years, ESR might turn out to be the next Franny Jeffers for all we know.

I'd rather get the better player than a signing that just upsets a group of fans, buts thats just me - I'm more interested in what happens on the pitch than "my **** is bigger than yours" statements

If we signed Smith Rowe it would be our biggest signing maybe since Stan Collymore.

Wouldnt even be our biggest signing this summer.. or did you sleep through the Buendia signing?

Topics about Villa Women are tagged "Villa Women". If people don't want to read them, don't read them.

    I don't understand the issue.

    Screenshot 2021-07-01 15.30.19.png

It was not tagged, about 6 people commented on that fact but it seems everything after page 1 was deleted without being read then.

A name like Remi is gender neutral. One poster mentioned he felt clickbaited.

Can an ignore thread option be added, much like the ignore poster option so it doesn't show up for those not interested?

Harry Winks would be an upgrade on Hourihane, but that's about it. Certainly would no want the club to spend money on him, not even £1

He only looks half decent when the team around him is playing well, bit of a nothing player. Sideways passes and doesnt get stuck in either. Baffled me when he was consistently getting picked for England.

Hourihane is the better player for me, at least he bangs in goals and gets lots of assists.

They wear the colours and the badge. They deserve our support.

if don’t want to watch their brand of football, that’s fine.

however, if we sideline it in to another board, no one here will ever be that interested. if it’s mixed with the men’s then great, we can learn and get informed about all things Villa.

So what you're saying is that there isn't enough interest in it so it would get hidden out of sight as no one would go there specifically to chat about it?

    I rest my case

A Villa team is a Villa team

A Villa player is a Villa player.

    Man, Woman or Youth

    They are all one

Not really, the youth players can progress and actually play for the main team. The women's team is a separate entity.

Wish the women's team well, but until the day comes that teams must be mixed, I'm not interested in it and I too feel it should be kept separate from the main board.

That's not sexist before anyone jumps on my comment.

Don't think there's enough interest, might have been better having just one team serving the whole region with input from villa blues Albion and wolves all contributing to one women's team and getting decent crowds in. Rather than 200 fans each at each match.

  18. "Scale of improvement is 2 to 10 years"

What does that mean? With all the strategic planning as well

Sounds like they want to marry any developments with European qualifications maybe

Or maybe they want to wait and see how big the season ticket waiting list gets, and might a see a new stadium as a more viable option - which would mean any current developments would be wasted money.
