Why are the club asking for letters of support?
Is the likelihood of this going ahead being threatened so that's why they are asking?
-
Maybe give benefit of doubt the that sole person lol, maybe they think it should be bigger?
I read ealier in the thread that both the Holte and Trinity will have larger individual capacitys than the new North, maybe this one person thinks they should go bigger.
(no it wasnt me before I get bombarded lol)

Not in 100 billion years will a monorail be built between Villa Park and Aston Station. Where the hell has he got that from? Sounds like someone is pulling his plonker and he's totally fallen for it.
I've seen it said that the concert can be in conjunction with the development because the stage would be in front of The North Stand anyway.

The line that runs to the airport and hs2 which I think has been approved runs past SHA

Interesting listening to the Claret & Blue Podcast this week.
Ashley Preece states demolition work will begin stright after the Brighton game, but wasnt a concert recently announced at Villa Park in the summer, Bruce Springsteen I think?
He also mentioned a monorail from Aston Station straight to Villa Park is being considered.

Dean Smith got sacked for less, at least we had some good times under him.
Get Potter in before someone beats us to it

I wanted us to get Potter when Smith was sacked, look how lovely Brighton play football. Also when they lose, its usually a close game, one which they deserved to win. They never get truly thrashed
Imagaine what he could do with a budget at a decent club.

We look like conceding from every free kick / corner. What is this guys job exactly? lol

3-1 defeat flatters us tody, could and should have been a lot more, same as Bournmeouth. Completely outplayed in both away games.
Was extrememly lucky that we had the awful Everton as our first home game otherwise that wouuld be 3 defeats on the bounce.. with West Ham, Arsenal and Man City next.
-
Its not even close, if you lose a game and we've been in a battle you can accept it. But Bournemouth and now Palace have destroyed us, men against boys. These are 2 teams that will probably finish bottom half.
We are going nowhere with Gerrard, maybe the championship
-
As much as people don't rate him, when we are defending free kicks there is no one better at the club. Gets his head on everything, if only he was not so cumbersome

The guy has gotten 5 goals and 3 assists in 17 prem starts for us. Not exactly a "dud". He was pretty good against City just 3 games ago.
He's not the player he was at Liverpool but £17m for a player with that return so far is good value to me.
Start Emi over him though, it's pretty obvious he needs to know his place isn't guaranteed.
Whats he done since he signed though? looked woeful every preseason game and its continued into the season.
Maybe he'll come good again, but what kind of message is it sending continually picking him ahead of our current best player and record signing who looks great every time hes given a chance
-
Playing Coutinho is like playing with 10 men at the moment, really don't get whats going on with him
Even more baffling that Gerrard continually picks him ahead of Buendia who is in the prime of his career

Wtf are people smoking? I thought he played okay today, the own goal is what it is, he put some good deliveries in, at the end of the day a cross is only any good if a teammate gets on the end of it.
Rather have Targett over Digne? Have a day off
Have a day off from what? Targett was our player of the year ahead of Grealish season before last. Was a very promising player.
Newcastle fans singing his praises now. I've seen nothing from Digne in 6 months to suggest he's an upgrade

OG not his fault. Seemed better once Buendia came on - good interplay between Digne, Buendia and Ramsey.
Seems the kinda player who needs skilled and active players around him to work with.
He should have been clearing with his right foot rather than doing some kind of fancy flick with his left. He approached the ball at the wrong angle which tangled him all up.

Really don't rate this guy. Really slow, gets eaily beaten and always puts aimless crosses into the box.
Give me Targett any day

Assists.
Two assists.
Criticize him in the next game if he does nothing sure.
But not today.
He got two assists.
You can get 2 assists and still play shit, why is that so difficult to accept?

When you consistently leave out the clubs record signing and fan favourite, to shoe horn an ex team mate who used to be good half a decade ago, then you are making a rod for your own back.

This makes the Ashley Young re-signing, after initially announcing him as released, really baffling.
We will have a better player than Ashley Young as a back up than him in every position he can play. So what was the point?

How is a 1pm kick off classed as "tonight's pre season opener"?

Literally only Raphinha and Phillips get in a combined Villa-Leeds 11 and both are far better than the rest of their team and could well be gone in the summer (plus Phillips has missed much of this season with an injury and doubtful will play against us). All of their other players are average at best and yes I include Bumford in that.
Probably one of the most delusional posts I've ever seen, Martinez is one the best GKs in the world and miles better than Meslier, Cash miles better than Ayling, both of our CBs walk into their team (Koch is never fit, why on Earth they have selected him I don't know), I'd even pick Bailey and maybe even Traore over Harrison (decent stats in goals/assists but a very ordinary footballer who just runs around a lot). Bumford is another very ordinary footballer, would pick Watkins and Ings over him.
Every person is slightly biased towards their team but that goes beyond being biased. I really hope Villa turn up and give Leeds a good hiding on Wednesday.
Agree, but even them I'm not entirely sure I'd have Raphina ahead of Buendia/Coutinho - though I do think he's an excellent player
Kalvin Phillips the only certainty for me

Nah, I read from the guy who did it who just said he was doing extreme versions of a kit, just playing about, he didn’t like it either. I will try and find the comment if I can as it was early this morning I think.edit:
Beat me to it, I saw this tweet as well and was going to point it out
Can't believe how many people jump on false stories

If I had to pick one of the two in front of Buendia and Coutinho next week, it'd be Keinan.
I'm 100% opposite
Buendia and Coutinho would create so many chances, I'd rather have a finisher finishing them off.
Its why I'd rather have Ings in the team than Watkins right now

Sorry, you're right, I should have been clearer.
I think he's a better player than Archer.
Not a better striker though.
Theres a footballer in KD but not suited as a CF in the era where most teams only play one up top.
His poor finishing will always hold him back, back to back goals is nice for him, but we've seen him miss great chances too many times to believe hes suddenly turned into a good finisher.
I expect Archer will have more than 10 career goals by the time he is 24
Its probably too late for KD to have a career at Villa now, especially as over 23s take up squad places.
