The last bastion of a dead man walking.

It's basically admitting you cannot coach someone, you need players that can just do as they are told.

Gerrard - I need exp pro's to give us that instant impact  to go for a European place

30 odd games later we sit 2nd bottom

  2. Along with Trez he was the unsung hero of the relegation scrap .To say he is not hardworking , go back and watch any of those games in project restart his tracking and breaking up of play was outstanding.

Top clubs want him for a reason and we are where we are as he has not been played this season and the game he did start as soon as he went off we crumbled. The look on his face when he sat on bench afterwards was enough to tell you he was pissed off.

As much as SG deserves stick.

Can't help but feel the club aren't blameless.

    It's been a clusterf*ck from multiple angles.

Purslow needs to go as well .He backed this manager and wasted millons on wages on player's with no return .Lange seems to just be there to say we have a SD , Purslow is clearly calling all the shots. This is like Spurs and Nunes except they were smart enough to change course quickly with no lasting damage

I watched Gerard's post match comments and he was saying that his "messages were not getting through to the players".

He said "we told them that Saka was left footed so show him to his right .... Jesus is right footed so show him to his left .... Martinelli likes to shoot so get out and close him down".

It struck me how basic his idea of preparing a team of Premier players for a match was. It doesn't seem as though he has much trust in our players at the moment.

What did he tell the mf stay close together and allow Arsenal the freedom of the wings..It's all gone very Steve Bruce " I told them they don't listen ..not  my fault "

  5. Arsenal pushing for him as lost 2 CM's , says it all really we have gone to embarrassing them at home last season to them easily beating us last night and taking one of our best players , partly as the idiot we got in as a manager won't play him

  6. I blame Purslow more than him tbh .I've no doubt Ings was a Purslow signing .Look at the way Purlsow announced Coutinho signing at player award's he like's getting the big names and this policy has been mostly a disaster. There is absolutely no way for 25mil Digne was the best LB we could get as well.

  7. The first half was players running around working as hard as they could to get ball but with no clear tactic oh how to press or what to do once they got it .It was pointed out time and time again in comms we where set up too narrow and allowing Arsenal to get wide easily , this is tactics you could see the MF all close to each other leaving space wide.

When we did get the ball going forward there was no one in the box. This is also not a new thing it why our endless crossing from FB's get's us zero joy.

The players where bad last night on ball , they have no confidence from what I can see in themselves or what they are supposed to be doing. This is what happens when you keep losing.

Does your Dendocker interest suggest he may well leave after all, despite the public briefings?

That Suggests are scouting is hopeless and we are in the panic stations on last day footing

Douglas Luiz isn't,never was and never will be a Defensive Holding Midfielder (No6) He's a No 8 and we are crying out for one

Question then Why in McGraths name does Slippy not play him?

For some reason he prefers Ramsey to run around losing the ball

    Failed at Arsenal

What makes you think hes the man for us?
Isnt he just a cup manager? Whats his league form like?

There are currently 4th ..slightly better than our current position

Shocking said nothing on MOtD about Gerrard or us being botton of the table, just that we looked better from the weekend, the bias is unreal. Didn't even ask Danny Murphy a question about us.

Exactly ..Ten Hag after 2 games was getting analysed and judged ..this plonker is getting away Scot free with being hopeless.

  12. We let contract run down .meanwhile signed others on big salaries which I imagine he wants parity and we have said no ..plus lack of game time. That would be my guess as to why we are where we are with him.

If you're at the '4 games to save his job' point, you've effectively made the decision already. It's even more obvious when 2 of those games are against the 2 form teams in the league, the 2 teams right now good look at the fixtures and say 'anythings a bonus'. They may as well have sacked him on Monday. I'd have preferred they sacked him after Palace, but after West Ham he was dead.

Sack now and have a new guy fact City and Arsenal or bring him in against the easier Soton ( though they seem to have hit another winning run they often go on ) and Leicester ...

We've got 4 of what you've described at max.

West Ham have blown 182 mill just this window. Those players will be on massive wages.

So i refuse to believe this.

There are other things at play here.

You make it seem like we have 14 players on 350 k per week.

Isn't their capacity 20k more than ours currently and newer owners who have new owner spending leeway ?

  15. Another possibility , if not mentioned is when you decide to start bringing player 's in on high wages those left who come to end of contracts want parity and we don't want to pay.

  16. We have made decent signings but no one we didn't pay a decent sum for .Alot of other clubs have brought equal or better quality players for less money. Coutinho is a vanity signing for both CP and SG .bring in the big name and it will work ..except after a bright start its hard to put a case for him to be starting games.

The transfer policy of bringing in established players on high wages needs instant results which we are not getting so for me ,both SG and CP are in firing line if I'm the owners. In SG case the fact that he went through so many at Ranger's makes me think he is just another Bryan Robson / Steve Bruce type who keeps spending and moving the pieces  till something stick's but no tactical nous at all.

They brought in 3 players to replace Jack but seemed to have not taken into account actually getting all 3 into the team at once !

Digne - did we scout him , did we have a report on how he would fit in strengths /weakness's or was he just avlaible after falling out with Rafa and SG said I'll take that experienced , well know LB and that will work. From my point of view if you have a system with Full backs bombing forward then need to be pacy and have some ability to go past a player , Digne does not .He can certainly cross but that's not enough with how we play. I think the Sarr transfer was much the same known player is available lets get him.

For me CP has got into this mindset of buying players well regarded so we look like a big club.Yes its not working at all and teams are buying better than us because they are not just plucking names. Wasn't it said he didn't want Buendia because he was from Norwich , which if so is a pretty shocking position to take.

Liverpool fans don't like him , its well known he brought in Joe Cole purely as it was Joe Cole on big money and was a disaster. He is going the same way here.

  17. If the look on his face Sunday was anything to go by he won't be signing any deal any time soon. The fact we then collapsed when he went off would suggest he was right to be annoyed at being hooked.

With one year on his deal he has every right to hold out , clearly the current manager's position is not secure. If he does go add him to Vertout and Gueye who went on to better things from the CM roles.

  18. That argument that Lampard and Gerrard couldn't play together seems apt for Ramsey and McGinn. Both good players but in our system where there is no width and you want them covering the FB's it doesn't work. Both of them need to be in final 3rd to get the best from them instead one is holding back trying to float balls to Dinge the other is running down that same wing. Its a mess of tactics
