  1. Although he has good Villa credentials, I doubt he has the financial backing
  2. Are these the Dubai people suposedly connected with Still, or is this a new one? **** this my brain is fried I need a holiday! Maybe Lerner isnt putting his own money in, but has the backing of the dubai people. So he sends some guys to Dubai for instructions, who then fly into brum......
  3. What a wonderful image that is.
  4. Well, in my opinion last Weds was a deadline of sorts. This deadline appears to have been extended by a week, either becasue of new interest or because of problems previously or both.
  5. Calm down 3PO, its all fine
  6. Was on the official site about 2 hours ago Do keep up
  7. Well, it want quite 18 months ago (last May Guild Wars was released) and yes, I had a lvl 60 character, couldnt really play PVP without one, which was one of the major problems that PVP players had with the game and was why everyone I knew jumped ship at that time after what turned out to be something of a misleading Guild wars BETA event where everyone was UAX. While Guild wars went some way to solving this by creating skill and item unlocks through PVP and ridiculously easy PVE farming, its still too much grind for guys who just want to play high end competitive gaming, and Fury promises to solve these issues. We will see.
  8. I moved on to Guild Wars 18 months ago with all the rest of the PVP crowd (who are currently preparing to jump ship again onto Fury next year), didnt think there was anyone left on WoW but the PVE mob.
  9. Where's our airport plane watching guy? Any scheduled flights for our favourite private jet? Today? Tomorrow? Thursday?
  10. IMHO if MON is appointed manager today Ian can pop all the champagne he wants.
  11. People still play WoW? Astonishing Hundreds of hours of grind to play badly broken PVP? Whatever floats your boat I guess, but I thought everyone had moved on from this, I did 18 months ago.
  12. certainly. However, its the result that matters, and the result seems inescapable.
  13. Well, if as reported Lerner's is Ellis' preffered bid, and if as reported Lerner is meeting Ellis again this week, and if as reported Martin o'Neill is about to be installed as manager, then it is difficult to escape the inevitable conclusion.
  14. The Rollercoaster, Part 2, opens at a football club near you soon
  15. In my opinion this is the correct version.
  16. IMHO this report is false. I believe they will talk to MON, if they havent already.
  17. what an interesting statement that is from the club.
  18. What this means is that if you buy 1% or mroe of Aston Villa, you have to say who you are, and who is putting up the cash,by 12 the following day not applicable to this situation
  19. if that was correct, someone would offer £65m. The value of an item is a mixture between the value placed on it by the seller and the value placed on it by the buyer. This applies as much to a can of beans as it does to a football club, it is a basic law of economics. if you are a seller, and you set a price which no-one buys at, you are, by definition, over valuing that which you sell. Therefore, £65m overvalues Aston Villa
  20. This cant be true, i was told in no uncertain terms yesterday by posters on here that these potential buyers were a figment of my imagination
  21. *Yawns* For the twentieth time. Milan Baros *was* the first choice, but we failed with a bid last summer and he became unavailable. Then we moved for beattie (second choice). When that deal failed to materialise we moved for bellamy (third choice). the collapse of that deal co-incided with Milan becoming available again, so we went *again* for the managers *first choice striker*. there now, not so difficult to understand.
  22. This is indeed the case, and I remember it too. I am sure that DOL's plan is to play baros and Angel, at least at first (Ok, so possibly not in the first game) and see how that goes. I think it looks like a neater fit as a pairing than Phillips and Baros, and a striking pair is about the partnership. If DOL planned all along to pair Phillips and Baros, why was he chasing Baros a year ago? As Ryu says, kev is a super pro, with a great goalscoring record, but i really am struggling to see him keeping either Angel or Baros out of the team for any extended period of time.
  23. I am almsot certain that baros is being bought with the thought in mind that he will partner Angel. I cannot see a Phillips/Baros parternship working tbh
