  1. Nope thats not what i am doing anyway. I think Lambert is a quality manager and his hands are tied. What i am saying is we need a couple of premership experienced players who we have a realistic chance of getting with the wages we are paying. The likes of Jamie O'Hara. Not world beaters but would do a job.
  2. Signing young players from lower leagues tend to work better when you are yourself playing in a lower league as Lamberts previous teams has. Secondly i don't think he's signed any unknown players from Europe before he came here. Nothing wrong with this policy if you have quality players for them to play beside and bring them. At the moment we dont. Lower league players along side young players.. wonder where we will end up. So what about Norwich they did not have quality players and they finished 12th. We cannot afford the fees the players you want cost, If it was not for Lerner's money we would probably be in administration you cannot sustain a £56 million loss each year unless you are a top club in the Champions League every year. We spent loads and still did not make the Champions league so maybe a different approach is needed They had plenty of time to get used to playing with each other before they came to the Premership.

  4. 100% agree. I've been saying this for a while now. From the lower league players we are being linked with, i think i would prefer Lambert throwing on his boots again and playing this role for us. Essien, Palilious, Lennon etc.. People need to get a reality check, Lerner isnt releasing the money for these sort of players.
  5. Guys its avoid relegation at all costs. I'd take one of the spice girls if i thought it would keep us up. Ask any Coventry Fan today if they would have done that way back when they got relegated.
  6. We could do alot worse than Wynsma to solver our DM problem. He is head and shoulders above anyone else in Scotland and wont cost the world. Also he wants to leave as he doesnt want to play left back in Scotland were Celtic have been playing him for the past few games. Him being able to play at left back also gives us another option.
  7. Christian Benteke is a gamble. He has only ever played in the belguim league. He may turn out to be a great player for Villa, he may not. Does anyone else feel like me and think Villa's Premership survival should not be based on a gamble. Pretty clear so far what Randys intentions are based on these rumours coming out tonight.
  8. If this true its a very worrying sign. Hardly going to keep us up in the Prem quality like that.
  9. More likely to be Ryan Babel. He is available for around that. Could be one bad egg though
  10. Aston Villa are close to completing the £3.5m signing of youngster Nathan Redmond from neighbours Birmingham City Seeing this tweeted posted few times now. Any truth?
  11. Perhaps it wasn't down to mon that transfers were left late in the day? This is the first year i can remember Villa doesnt have a player being linked with a big money move away from the club. Silence speaks volumes i guess. I hope we have hit rock bottom and the next 2 days will rejuvenate us all.
  12. He is also one of the dirtiest players to grace the premership
  13. i used to really rate him but his flopped at stoke, when your kept out of a stoke side by glenn whelan then you cant be up to it Yes i agree, but he would be better than nothing. We need to Panic buy now as it has got to this stage. Downside every club will know we are desperate and add an extra million or two to the price.
  14. Why? We have been pretty good at it in the past 15 years.
  15. This is what i have been trying to say. No point in buying Doyle/Carrol/Keisling if we cant wint the ball in midfield to get it up to them. Bent is a top goal scorer but hasnt got any chances as we cant win the bloody ball in the first place to counter.
  16. In my firm belief i think we need a player/s who can break up play in midfield. Milner/Barry/Petrov/Boateng could do this and to a lesser extent Reo-Coker . What have we got now? Bannan/Nzogbia/Albrington/Ireland. None of them could stop a 14 year old running through the middle. We need someone with a bit of badness/experience in the middle. Everton kept running through us time after time. Same would have happened at West-Ham if they hadnt been a long ball team. Not looking forward to Newcastles midfield this weekend. No CB could defend with what stopping power they have in front of them. Think people are getting carried away with not scoring goals. We have got loads of nice fancy players but no-one to do the donkey work and win the ball for them. Being realistic we are talking about the likes of O'Hara, Huddlestone on Loan something like that.
  17. I could be wrong, but I assumed it was because we asked to speak to him and Norwich flat-out refused without even asking him if he'd be interested. This and perhaps the story floating about that he's not getting as much money for transfers as he was promised or felt he deserved. Either way, it looks like threatening to resign was the only way he could get the ball rolling. I could be way off though of course. I'm not sure how it works but can he not tell them he wants to talk to villa instead of them asking him does he want to talk to villa. At the end of the day Villa were going to have to pay Norwich compensation anyway. Does Nowich saying no make any difference? Pat murphy said on the radio earlier that he has a clause in his contract which allows him to speak to another prem club. Norwich refused to honor that clause so he resigned instead. Ah the resignation makes sense to me now

  19. Yeah also, I think he wasn't happy with the transfer budget for next season... Yeah the only thing i can draw from him offering his resignation is that he wont be back at Nowich whatever way the villa talks go.
  20. Why did Lambert offer his resignation? Was it because he got p1ssed off with Norwich? Cant see him going back to them if that’s the case.
