Dybala has supposedly dropped his wage demands to 110k a week, would love it if we tried to get Dybala esp as a free transfer
His best position is as a 10, so I don't see how he'd fit here unless you're replacing Buendia. I think the most logical landing spot for him is at Roma playing behind Tammy. Seems a perfect fit.

Has anyone seen the study someone did on Premier League fans positive/negative tweets last season? Apparently we were the most positive fans in the league with only 1/10 negative, Man U the worst with 1/3 neg.
Must not have studied this thread.

I think we need to demand more from the club.
It's not good enough to bring in good players that make us instantly stronger.
These acquisitions must be made steadily through the window ao that fans have something to cheer for, say weekly.
Also, we should only sign great players at half their market value, and sell shit players for twice their market value. To think people believe running a club is hard!

" Milan aims to insert a new midfielder in the squad. In recent days, the Brazilian national team of Aston Villa Douglas Luiz has been proposed. A profile that pleases but that is not considered a priority: the idea would be to find a player with more quality and ability to transform the action from defensive to offensive. "
Translated.
If I were to rate the reliability of football reporting in Italy on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the least trustworthy and 10 being the most trustworthy, I'd give it a -50.

Exactly, but I’m questioning his credentials not his opinions
The reason I trust him is because he's not out there floating names or rumors or eyeball emojis or aggregating other reports. He just occasionally tweets about what he's heard. He doesn't do the typical attention seeking maneuvers the fake ITKs do, or try to break news.

We have spent more than pretty much everyone, but they had a head start.
We had to buy players and then replace those players with better that needs to be factored in too.
Anything lower than top half is pathetic, sorry. I don't put places on it, I'll be happy with 60 points which almost always will have you in Europe.I want top half too. I think top half is far more realistic than Europe this season. The Conference League or Europa League should be much more accessible in in 23/24, but even that won't be easy. This is the toughest league in the world. There are the established powers, and behind them are a bevy of clubs striving to join them with the financial power to believe they can. Progress is seldom linear.

£400m on 2 or 3 times as many players as them too
Arsenal might have spent less than us in that time but the fact that they have 9 players who cost more than our record transfer is somehow lost, let alone their wage bill being double ours
You know what they say about complex problems: There's always somebody with a simple, incorrect solution.

Maybe you need a dose of reality? It isn't four years ago, and we have spent £400,000,000 since then.
And if we were the only club spending money, the raw figure would matter more. What's our spend in relation to the teams we're trying to catch? If we'd spent £400 million and the teams we're chasing had spent only £20 million, it'd be a different story. But other teams spend money too!
Either way, thanks for letting me know it's no longer 2018.

We have to be aiming for Europe surely. At least Challenging. Aston Villa is a big club man. We need to think big
We are aiming for Europe. It's just a longer trip than many on here seem to realize.

Four summers ago we were rummaging through scrap bins looking for players as we prepared for another season in the Championship. Now there are fans who think if we don't finish in a European spot next season we're a failure. I get having ambition, and I love optimism as much as the next guy, but some of you lot could do with a nice dose of reality.
Villa have had an active window to this point. There's a lot of window left. The club wants to improve. It wants to reach Europe. Losing Jack Grealish was a big setback in that pursuit. It can still happen regardless. A little more patience, and a little less bedwetting.

I'm starting to think he is to be honest. I wouldn't be totally against the idea of him staying to be fair.
Neither would I. Not the best option as a backup to Kamara, but you know he can do it if needed to. Plus you add him to the mix of our more forward minded mids and it gives us more of that depth of options so many are complaining we don't have.

Can any Italian football fans fill me in and describe Bologna’s Mattias Svanberg Swedish 6 or 8 … Names cropped up but don’t know too much about him other than he is quite highly rated and think has a year left on his contract
I'd hardly call myself a Svanberg expert, but I've seen him in a few matches. Somewhat similar to McGinn in that he was playing for a team that needed him to be a bit more defensive than he seems capable of being, and is better served going forward. Pretty good on set pieces. Not much of a passer worth noting. For context, though, it's important to point out that the only time I'm watching Bologna is when it's playing the top sides in Italy. I have no idea what Svanberg looks like when he's playing against sides on par with Bologna.

Apparently they are still after Tyler Adams also for £12 mill. They’ve done ok business so far tbf to them.
I'm convinced Jesse Marsch is using Leeds to prove he can coach the US Men's National Team.

Again he’s had some info in the past that’s the only reason I give his tweets any attention
One time my sister asked me to guess a number between 1 and 100 and I guessed the right one. Nobody has confused me for having psychic powers because of it. He was right about one player possibly because he had actual information, and he enjoyed the notoriety he received, so he's continued making things up since. Notice how the time you give him credit for being correct, he NAMED the player? Nothing but mysterious bullshit hints since.
