This lad couldn’t trap a bag of cement. He scored - fine, but my god, he was dreadful in every other aspect of his play and the game. 

It wouldn’t bother me one bit if we sold both Watkins and Ings. One is a very poor footballer who works hard and the other is massively overpaid and probably not fit to play 90 mins regularly. 

Id flog both, play Archer up top and then use the money to buy two central midfielders.

Signing another right winger just sums us up at the moment.

I’m more confident we’ll be relegated right now than I was after Smith had lost 5 on the spin. We’re being comfortably outplayed by teams we ‘should’ be beating. We’re absolutely woeful. 

We need to sign some players and sack the manager. Quick time.

As bad as Gerrard is, no manager gets the best out of this squad unless we sign some central midfielders. 

It’s just embarrassing at this point. 

Sign midfielders. 

We’re in big trouble.

The promoted teams aren’t looking too shabby this year. That’s a real problem for us.

Ramsey and McGinn do not work well together. McGinn shouldn’t be anywhere near a team trying to push for Europe. Bailey has been woeful and Watkins control is poor. The sooner we move away from starting McGinn and Watkins every week, the better we’ll be. We desperately need one, probably two new central midfielders.

I’d argue Mings has been our best player bar some daft turn in his own area at the end of the half. He has a below par Konsa alongside him, Kamara in front of him and the rest of them all bomb on.

Our shape, especially in midfield, is a total embarrassment. 

We pretty much play a 2-1-6-1 formation. 

Watching Villa try and pass the ball through midfield is a truly, truly horrific sight. 

McGinn, Ramsey and Bailey have been woeful. Watkins control of a football almost comedic. 

Eze and Zaha a joy to watch.

Until we sign some better midfielders, expect plenty more of this.

The only positive from that half is that we’re not losing.

Watching Wolves at Spurs? Controlled most of the game. Even if they lose, so much to build on there for them.

I would love us to play well regardless of result so I don't have to be so certain Gerrard will fail here.

They have superb central midfielders. Until we decide to improve the middle of the park, we’ll never be able to control games the way Wolves have (for the most part) against Spurs. It’s not rocket science.

I would have liked Nathan Collins as well, but I don't see how signing Carlos is a negative at all.

Collins in still young, Carlos is more experienced and has pedigree.

If anything I would have signed both.

Don’t mind Carlos tbh, just would have preferred Collins.
