Well, Watkins will be back, Grealish will likely be on the bench again.

Hopefully Emi and Mings were just suffering from impacts and nothing serious.

Its a weird game this as it does not matter to either side, so expect a dull affair.

A few have said it, and maybe it is time to blood some of the kids and assess if they are ready to be involved next season.

You could argue that this would be the perfect sort of match to give Carney his debut. End of season game, little riding on it-take Barkley out of the starting 11 and let Carney have a go, see what he's got! I'm not really one to say throw all the kids in but if Cash is going to be out for this one, maybe give Kesler a go too? It's looking more and more likely that Elmo won't be here next season and nobody is sure what's happening with Guilbert so why not? What they lack in experience i'm sure they would make up for in effort.

When did we last have a big physical imposing centre midfielder? I genuinely can't think of one since Taylor but am obviously missing someone. In my head we always seem to have wee fellas running about in our midfield.

    Jedinak?

We already have the best 10 in the world. We just need a better winger to out on his left.

What makes you believe Jack is a 10? Has he really ever played as a 10? He's a LW and a bloody good one at that!

Foul by Bacuna, never liked him, didn't look bad bad to be honest, so hopefully not a serious one.

I didn't think it even looked like a foul? Looked more like it was caused by Hourihane stretching to reach the ball before Bacuna got to it after he miscontrolled the ball?

Phew, I still think that his signing was the straw that broke the camels back with Jesus Pitarch.

I'm sure i read something yesterday or the day before that Fenerbache are already looking at the possibility of selling him during the summer once his transfer is made permanent. Can't find where I read it unfortunately though so could be something my brain made up 👍

we have already paid 15m for him. we don't need to pay city any more money. we already own him.

I think the idea is that if City think they could sell him for £45mil but they have to pay £30mil to get him back off us, we could just pay City £15mil which would get rid of the clause moving forward.

Jacks best position is the middle because he can be wide left wide right or in the centre. Wherever it is easiest for him to get the ball and create for others.

Look at how grealish plays under a manager he doesn't respect (Southgate). He stays on one side for 20 minutes doesn't get the ball then he plays as a free man and is the best player on the pitch by a country mile.

Whilst i completely understand that you're entitled to your own opinion-i think you're completely wrong regarding Jacks best position and thankfully it would appear that Smith agrees.

So never to early to speculate and get the wish list in.

I can see this being a very busy window considering how well this season has gone so far, we have a few players coming to the end of there contracts Elmo, Conor and Taylor. Realistically I don't think any will see contract extensions Conor has obviously already gone out on loan and best of luck to him. Taylor and Elmo could still both cut it in the Championship and both will leave on free in the summer.

Ross Barkley's loan will end in May and chances are he will go back to Chelsea personally I don't see us signing him.

So in the summer I see us needing to:

    • Replace Barkley - Jack Grealish say hi!
    • Sell Engels and replace with a young up and coming CB, happy to have Mings, Konsa, Hause and a n other in the squad
    • Replace Taylor, Targett has had a good season but next season will show whether he is the real deal or not.
    • Chances are Guilbert will be gone so guess a new RB to push Cash?
    • A CF to push Ollie
    • A quality left winger with pace.

    Thoughts?

Jack's best position is wide left. Why would we move him into the position Barkley plays?

I'm not convinced most of our fans will be able to spell his name so i think this is a non-runner 😀

Should sell him or let him go on a free tbf - I'd much rather see Ramsey, Bogarde or Sylla play instead of him.

Contract expires Jun 30, 2022 not sure why we'd let him leave on a free?

I'm not against that but at this moment of time i don't see much of a difference between Conor and Ramsey.

Conor would edge it for me for his set piece delivery.

If there's so little between them then we should absolutely be starting Ramsey ahead of Hourihane. We will benefit massively in the long run by giving Ramsay regular PL football.

After our striker broke his leg, we had a crucial transfer window in January. The club's response was to get Borja Baston and Danny Pisswater in on loan. We have a Board that permitted only £10m when we had a serious risk of being relegated, a Board that wouldn't stretch to £25m on Benrahma, and a CEO who openly touts a strategy of making profits by selling players. £45m would be £20m more than we've ever spent on a player. There will be a lot of huffing and puffing (rightly, to get a higher price) but at the end of the day I think Purslow's mouth will be absolutely watering at £60m, or do you have more faith in him? I'm not trolling, I think some of ye are bonkers.

We were at the absolute limit when it came to spending due to FFP.

We spent everything we could spend, it wasn't a case of the owners being tight. I hope not anyway!

  13. I really hope that come the end of the transfer window that we're in a position to be able to send Keinan out on loan to find some goalscoring form.

He's shown enough for me to think that in the long run he could be a very good player but without some sort of goalscoring return it would be very hard to accommodate him.

All the youngsters that aren't getting new contracts have already been released. Based on the ruthless cull last summer I would say

    JOTA

    Lansbury

    Elmo (maybe)

    Hogan

The rest will depend on bids received , Guilbert, Hause,

    Why Guilbert out of interest?
