I know life isn't always simple but you'd think if we really are interested in signing N'Zogbia that we would try and make sure we had him signed before we let our player leave. Doesn't make any sense to do it the other way around as we could always be beaten to the player we want and then be left trying to find a sub standard replacement.
Sometimes i feel that as much as i love Villa that we tend to do things in a backwards manner!

I think all this talk of him going is slightly premature. Remember the statement from McLeish of everyone getting a clean slate-that applies to Makoun too.
With a pre-season under his belt i think he'll become a valuable member of the squad. Don't forget that Petrov came from Scotland, already speaking English and it still took him about 2 seasons to begin producing some form whereas Makoun has come from France speaking barely any English and trying to pick up the pace of the Premier League from the off straight away which admittedly he has failed to do thus far.
Give him a chance guys and get off his back-sometimes you lot are like a pack of wolves lol.

If this whole situation has been merely 'diversionary tactics' then the board need to pull a bloody huge profile manager out of a hat when they announce our new manager as a way of saying sorry for keeping you all in the dark for so long!

NO WAY WOULD RANDY MAKE AN ILLEGAL APPROACH!!!
I agree with this 100%. We all KNOW how Randy behaves. Dave Whelan spouted it off to everyone last week and praised RL in the process.
If McCleish was in the frame than matters would have been concluded professionaly and amicably with BCFC.
MM has said it's not McCleish on H & V this morning as well.

The way i am looking at this whole situation is that it's best to not trust any ITK's and just wait.
The media have decided to pick our club apart over our managerial situation as we're not a fashionable club to anybody other than ourselves. Chelsea are in the same situation as us with no manager but they've been left to deal with it without being slagged off left right and centre.
I sat in the car yesterday literally seething at Adrian Durham and even Darren Gough over the comments they were making, i would seriously love it if Randy caught wind of what they were saying and decided to do a media blackout to that loathesome station until they recieve a sincere apology from those pair of idiots! I kept punching the stations phone number into my phone and then deciding the things i wanted to say would probably get me arrested for some sort of breach of the peace
I'd love to say i'm going to ignore all of this until a friend or family member contacts me to say xxxxx is the new Villa manager but i know it's not feasible and that i'm doomed to spend the next god knows how many days sat at my computer or with my phone refreshing the page every 30 seconds. I can't wait til my life can return to a certain amount of normality although i've no idea what i'm going to do with my time after this, i can't even remember what i did with my time before this arghhhhh!!

Surely Randy realises the money will be there from selling Downing? What happened to the money off Ash? The General has told us on here that players will be signed so surely we're not in such dire straits that we can't shell out £9mil for a replacement player?
