It’s debatable whether he should have been binned or not, for sure he shouldn’t have been given a new deal when he did.
He is clearly way out of his depth in this league
Decent in the championship/league 1 but clearly not capable at this level

It's turning into that. Bottom place is a possibility.
Seriously, why is Smith here for 4 more years?
Should have been binned about a month ago

Kinda hard to write this on a phone, but I honestly feel like some of the fans on here are on a completely different planet than me.
I genuinly feel it's either you or me, but coexisting can't happen.
For absolute ages we've lacked a modern manager and philosophy in the club. We've gone from clogger to clogger with neanderthal football. The second we've faced adversity we've sacked and started over again. Those trying to change style and philosophy got sacked even faster than others, for instance Garde.
Now we got Deano who not only achieved the unlikely and got us promoted at first go, but he's also been put in the impossible situation where he has to sign a new squad and make it survive its virgin voyage in the toughest league in the world. Yet we once again see the impatience and people calling for sacking after some loss of form and after every time we go down a goal during matches. I just can't identify myself with such total lack of patience and belief in long term thinking. So get on board and stop whining about Smith, so I can keep following this club.
We saw last year we got back from a loss of form. We're basically where we expected to be.
This doesn't mean you can't criticise obvious mistakes or poor management, but there's that and cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Now lets hammer Watford and hope the recruitment department have come out of hibernation.
It’s the lack of being able to do the basics that’s staggering with Smith
There is no pattern of play, the midfield changes every week
Also selling our only striker when we have no replacements is baffling
Throwing Drinkwater in when he is clearly miles off the pace is a mind boggling decision
The constant fannying about trying to play out from our own 18 yard line when we clearly are not capable is suicidal
Not making changes quickly enough when other teams make changes and we are being pushed back is annoying.
Smith doesn’t help himself at all at times

Two awful performances, massively off the pace, not clear, at this rate, whether he will ever be up to speed.
You can’t blame him
You have to question the management, he has been thrown in at the deep after essentially being on a bender for two years

I’m out
Going shopping instead
**** this

The only saving grace is that they are also fairly wank

I'm not saying it would have all of sudden fixed our problems but not having a striker for these games is just a **** shambles.
We did, but we decided to sell him before we got any others in

I bet Reina is wondering wtf he has let himself in for

Their players are so much more comfortable with the ball
Its as if we don’t practice with one all week

**** about at the back again

Smith is right. Manager change won't fix individual errors
Opta statistics show no team in the Premier League has made more individual mistakes than Villa.
“The players need to stamp it out. If they’re making individual mistakes, there’s not a lot we can do on the coaching field about it,” said manager Dean Smith.
A change may fix individual errors
Smith likes to play out from the back and always has
It doesn’t work though when you have fairly crap players all round, especially at the back and in midfield
A simple change in philosophy to get rid of the ball in and around the box would be a good place to start
Also telling the midfielders to stop showing for the ball whilst facing their own goal in our own half would be another good idea
Hardly rocket science, but mistakes we make over and over and over again
We have some fairly pacey forwards, if it danger clear it into the channels and push up instead of trying the Barcelona build up from the 18 yard line
None of this will happen with Smith in charge

So you can only win with a centre forward, they are crap and are going to thrash us, and they are not very good, I have searched around but but can’t find your coaching manual anywhere perhaps you are talking sh*t.
We can’t defend at all
The only times when we look okay is going forward. We have no forward and no focal point
Man City are a better team but that was one of the most embarrassing inept performances at Villa Park I have seen in over 30 years
A complete shambles all over the park, it’s going to be another shambles
Brighton are crap, we are beyond that at present
Last weekend was totally clueless and Smith will sleepwalk into the same problems again

At home they've only lost 3. Only 5 teams have lost less at home. They've been a tough team to play at home since they've been promoted

I don’t think Brighton should be underestimated, they are now an established Premier League outfit. They have some fantastic players I think, this will be a very tough match. I would go with the same side as you predicted Farlz
Brighton are crap. They are only 3 points above us and we have been largely woeful.
Not having a centre forward for this game is criminal.
It should be a game we are targeting 3 points from as they are a relegation candidateI think we have given away any chance of a win though by not addressing a Wesley replacement in time
I think they will thrash us which given the fact they are not very good is a telling sign

Interesting.
Central and Defensive mids in the PL:
Successful tackles per game
=4th Nakamba
Interceptions
8th Nakamba
He gives the ball away as soon as he tackles or intercepts so he may as well not bother

For weeks now I have been trying to work what our actual plan is
Norwich are shite but I can at least see what Farke is trying to do
We look like a bunch of blokes straight out of the Yenton pub after a session trying to cobble something together on the day
