Maybe I'm being optimistic, but I'd like to think that if we went down we might be able to keep McGinn and Mings, provided we could bounce straight back up.
Not a cat in hells chance

Is this a suitable place to post since the FFP thread is locked?
Just wanted to post this since because it makes me laugh how the media would have you believe we were in financial crisis, have to sell star players asap and were at risk of a points deduction
Grealish McGinn and Mings sales will also be a massive profit before next season starts

I love these guys. They have been a breath of fresh air for the club but are they being too loyal to Dean?
Today was so predictable. It was another must not lose game that Dean just passively watched from the side and appeared to have no influence upon. Dean is a dead man walking. He will be gone within the next 6 months one way or another. I hope these guys have already got a suitable plan for what comes next. Everything else is in place but the head coach. Big call to be made. They have been far too loyal to Smith
He should never have been given a new contract and should have been shown the door weeks ago

I think Deano is going to do something a little off the wall for the final. I’m not sure what but he has mentioned Big Ron throwing Fenton in in 1994 completely out of the blue! Maybe SJM or young Barry?
Difference between Big Ron’s team and this team is night and day
Fenton was a surprise on that day but the rest of the team were all good players
Aside from Jack and Mings the rest of this team are utter dog shit

I'm guessing AJ will offer a 60/40 split and then claim Fury "doesn't want to fight him"
Your joking aren’t you, it’s Eddie Hearn, will probably go in with 80/20 and then say it was a great offer

Hearn is a bell end
Always blamed Wilders team for not getting a fight with AJ yet Warren and Fury seemed to be able to arrange 2 maybe 3 fights with Wilder fairly easily
Hearn is just clamouring for the match up Joshua is no longer the number one heavyweight
Fury has conquered America after Joshua fell fat on his arse
FWIW I think Fury would take AJ to the cleaners

Just going by his biggest wins. Chisora x2 and Klitscko, he never hurt them. I know he stopped chisora the 2nd time around but that was just he gave a limited and smaller man a beating. He doesn't really buzz a fighter with a shot.
If he is injured this may be another Bellew vs Haye debacle
Fury is about half a stone too heavy

Ronaldo scored in his 11th match in a row. When are these guys going to slow down?
Judging by Ronaldo’s fitness regime and diet he has probably got another 5 years left at least!

I think Wilder will knock him out. I don't think Fury is bluffing when he says he's looking to land more power punches this time but his career shows us he isn't a power puncher.
Fury is also very heavy, apparently the excess weight is due to an ankle injury in training so he hasn’t been able to run which is why he is going for a k.o

I think this is bang on.
I don't think a number of the players have the ability to play the way he wants - and this is starting to cause problems in the squad. They simply can't do what he's asking, and as you say, he won't change his style.
But I'd rather stick with smith, and change the players.
Its not all of them, but the ones under par put pressure on the rest.
If you go the other way round, you sack smith, get in big fat sam who will play to the limited abilities of the players - and no one wants that.
What if Sam got results?

Smith has just echoed that the level of performance from the players was dire, that he told them so at half time, and that responsibility for that rests with him.
I agree with him on all counts.
The responsibility for getting a level of performance is on the Coach.
He isn’t responsible for mistakes, skill levels, or players having an off day.
But today we were, to put it in simple terms, out fought. Again.
Thats 100% on him.
Last week we gave a performance full of effort, desire, commitment.
I ranked his performance Very Good.
When those things happen I credit the Coach.
When they don’t, it’s on the Coach.
When it’s too often, we need to look at whether he’s the right man.
So he said it was dire at half time, didn’t change anything and put the same players back out.
Genius

As you know I don’t see eye to eye with you on much of this season.
I maintain a struggle was to be expected, that we are not a million miles off.
And struggles often bring out the negatives in fans, players and Coaches.
But we are not producing the levels we are capable of. Too hit and miss.
I expect inconsistency. But I expect to be properly competitive against sides in the lower half.
He managed that in the first half of the season.
He isn’t managing now, and hasn’t been for some time.
Thats my issue. At our best we are no worse than half the League.
He doesn’t seem able to get us playing at our best, or even remotely close to it, against teams we should be competitive with.
His biggest problem is trying to get the players to play the certain way he likes
We don’t have the quality, instead of shaping the style of play and tactics to suit the ability of the players, he is trying to make the players play a certain style that they simply are not capable of doing
He is either too stubborn to admit he is wrong or is too limited on his abilities to change things
Personally I think it’s a combination of the two
I don’t like his demeanour either, that’s a personal opinion. He strikes me as being someone who is rather unlikeable. I listened to Gabby on TS the other day saying Garde was basically hard to work with. I kind of get that impression about Smith. As I said that’s just my feeling, there is something I don’t really don’t like about him when I see him interviewed or watch him on the touchline

I’m always sceptical about doing that
I watch the reruns at 9am
Last time I got up was Hatton vs Pacquio which lasted all of 4 mins!!
