Get a result at Brighton and the garden looks rosier
Hopefully have a number 9 and a keeper in place
Man City are just light years ahead
Pep has splashed more cash on fullbacks than our entire squad
Let that sink in for a minute
FFP......

This is now becoming as important a week for this club as I can remember.
We buy a striker this week or we go down - I really believe it's that simple - and if we go down, we might not be in this position again for a decade.
Ideally, we need three attacking players and a left back - but if we don't get one striker, someone who can run the channels, be available for the long ball and give us an "out" - if we don't get a striker that lets us be a football team, one that plays in a normal football team sort of way - we're done. Down. Finished.
FFP? Don't care.
Overpaying? Don't care.
If we don't get one that can help, we could be out of the top division and away from the money for years - it could be a £500m problem.
Buy a striker this week or die.
Disagree, I think we need a DM not just attacking players
Luiz and Nakamba are dreadful and Drinkwater looks weeks away
-
We need a keeper, two full backs, two midfielders, two strikers and a winger

That’s a very odd response isn’t it. Surely he’d be signing tomorrow after a medical? It’s been reported like that for several days. Wonder if PR was still mulling it over.
Probably changed his mind

Strap yourselves in lads
This is going to be painful

Fitness is one thing. But if he's only played 1 game. His touch will be a bit off.
Can’t be worse than Marvellous

Guilbert, Trez and Nakamba all on the bench - you'd think at least two of them would be starting in a game like this.
Guilbert yes
The other two have been largely shit

Taylor will relegate us on his own if Smith continues to play him.
Is that the same Taylor that played against Burnley and Leicester which we didn’t lose?
Forgot how immense Targett was against Leicester at home, Sheff Utd, Southampton and especially Watford
Oh hang on ........

Why?
If we feel Nakamba and Luiz can get a bit swamped and over ran and give the ball away cheaply under pressure and therefore don't help when we play in games vs teams that will have the majority of possession and Drinkwater offers a better option than surely a game vs man City is a good test of that theory
Again I can see the logic of the decision
Nakamba and Luiz gave the ball away 30 times at Leicester.
Hardly surprising one of them was binned

A bit odd that Drink goes straight into the starting XI.
Really?
Have you not been watching Nakamba

Targett is woeful.
Honestly don't know what people see in him.
I agree, Taylor isn’t great but he is way better than Targett
Targett has been atrocious

This is just a lie. Plain and simple.
Whelan was an important part of our promotion.
Father time caught up with him a bit but I’d take him over Nakamba even still

In my opinion, Firmino isn’t an out and out centre forward. Personally, I think Kane is the best striker in the world hands down
I wouldn't say hands down. He is certainly in the mix though

i don't remember him being particularly bad in his limited game time to be honest.

With Drinkwater in the side I think we'll see a big improvement in both Luiz and Nakamba, especially Luiz.
probably because he won't start?

Yet twice as good as Taylor
Never in a month of Sundays
Targett is our worst player by a country mile, no positional sense, can’t track a runner, cant turn and is slower than a pensioner with arthritis
He is also powder puff, I’d pay Southampton to take him back and drive him there

Does anyone else feel an instant wave of black depression when Neil Taylor is in the team and you can see the ball working its way out to the left hand side in a promising move approaching their goal? I think it's the complete and utter certainty of the impending pass to the opposition which brings it on for me. The absolute loss of any hope there will be a positive outcome associated with him taking possession of the ball. I'd love to see the Skybet odds on him putting his foot on the ball and passing backwards when in the opposition half. They might not even take the bet.
On the flip side I get a wave of depression when Targett is left back and a diagonal ball is dropped in behind him. By the time he has turned round the opposition player is about 15 yards behind him. He is utter dogshit
