I think smith has got it wrong today. Away from home we need drinkwater to sit and solidify. at least for the first hour. Luiz has been guilty of going to sleep many times this season.

    Drinkwater solidify???

I have had more solid shits with diarrhoea

Good team. Barring individual mistakes  we have a good chance here. Glad Drinkwater isn't starting - Hourihane first sub. He is an impact player and if chasing a game can come up with some brilliance. Starting, the game would bypass him.

    Barring individual mistakes.......................

You do watch us play don’t you?

We are are utterly useless at the basics and defending

Other than Grealish, Reina and occasionally Mings, everybody else is fairly cack

Cheer up KHV, it might never happen.

Been looking through the fixtures, we have only really got chances of points against Saints, Newcastle, Palace and West Ham

The rest are pretty much write offs as we are utterly cack against anyone in the top half

Need 9/10 points from these 4 and a few of the others to **** up

  5. Anything less than 3 points here and we’re done

No win in 7 against the Saints

    1 win in 5

    Worst defence in the league

20 premier league away games without a clean sheet

I can’t see anything else other than a heavy defeat

If we continue to defend like we have been then Ings will have a great day. I say continue to defend, it would be nice if we actually started to defend!

    3-0 Saints, Reina MOTM

Sick of betting sponsors, never liked the idea of them in the first place and this sounds like a particularly nasty one, really hope we don't go through with it.

I have a sport pesa account. Nothing nasty about them at all

Not if we dont go down.  No chance McGinn or Mings are going anywhere if we stay up and I'm very much on the side that Jack's going nowhere given all the factors that I went through on my posts on this thread yesterday.  I just think the chance of him leaving taking everything into consideration are less than him going.

Problem is that we are going to go down

Agreed on all.  I did hope we'd end up 14th-ish and put that on the prediction but honestly i thought 16th/17th was probably about right given the transformation of the squad in the summer and basically all new to the premier league.  Two disappointments from the summer for me was not getting another striker in and not bringing in Cahill (instead of either Engels or Konsa).  I always think you need experience at the back and was worried about that.  Yes i love the long term view but a bit of experience always help short term.

I am now disappointed in hindsight that none of our signings have really stood out.  You generally get flops and great impact signings but most of our have done alright but that's it (might be great long term I know)...the obvious sloppy moments of newbies but generally just ok over the first 2/3 of the season.  I really thought maybe one of those big bunch we brought would be great....maybe Luiz, maybe Trez but none have grasped the bull by the horns and done what McGinn did when he first came or Mings when he came in...that's been disappointing for me.

Last summer was quantity over quality, this summer has to be quality over quantity so I agree with you!

We will have to replace Grealish , McGinn and Mings in the summer

It is a problem - the solution isn’t to play for clean sheets. I don’t remember all 23 of Spurs shots today, but I thought we were unlucky to lose and it ultimately came down to a mistake.

Give me that than trying to play for meek 0-0 draws any day of the week - let alone when we need to pick up some wins.

I’m not asking to try and play for a 0-0 I would like us to organise better without the ball

Everyone is all over the shop, and out of position

I would also like to see the get rid of it approach from the 18 yard line

Just a couple of changes here and there

When we lose possession in the opponents half it’s literally 4 passes and Reina is being called into action!

Smith get's away with glaring issues because he's a boyhood Villa fan.

Shame on you if you criticize the Almighty Dean.

I like Dean and I want him to do well. If we can survive he needs to address this open approach

All I want is little more organisation

I don’t think we train without the ball much from what I can see

We had 18 so your point is??

Everybody had 15 to 20 attempts against us, we concede more efforts on goal than anyone in the league

It will be the reason we go down if it isn’t addressed

Might be entertaining but it’s going to cost us

The worrying thing is nobody seems capable of quite frankly bothered about doing anything

Trying to stay up based on the if you score 3 we will score 4 approach is suicidal

With all respect to the tactical genius of Big Sam (amazing he's still out of work, eh?!) you're at the bottom for a reason.  It's because you lack quality and concede more than you score.  You need to change that. You don't try to build on that by chucking 6 defenders on a pitch and trying to grind out 0-0 draws.  You need to win games.

Everything today - and I mean everything - went well.  We outplayed Spurs IMO.  They looked dangerous on the counter attack (and they should do, they're a good side) but we controlled the game much better.  But for a 93rd minute brain fart, we'd have avoided defeat and got a decent point.

So, again, with all respect to the tactical genius of Big Sam - he's **** wrong.

(Also, two things that football would be better off without - Big Sam and TalkSport.  **** garbage x2).

We have conceded 98 shots on goal in 6 league games

If you don’t think that’s a massive problem your deluded

Had it not been for Reina today Spurs would have had 6 or 7

Were wide open every time the opposition comes forward

Spurs had 23 shots on goal, thats roughly an attempt every 4 mins, hardly what I would call going well. It’s actually quite amateurish, we look like we will concede goals at every given moment

Good performance. Defence a shambles. Promising game until 93rd minute. It was coming though. Midfield and defence was tiring. Samatta looked fine to continue - not shattered if tiring - and Dean risked it by bringing Borja on to go for the winner Rather than try and use a sub to shore up the midfield or defence. (Lack of options too though @Suso)

Didn't work. We knew Dean would always go for the winner. It's risky but we wanted a manager that does that after years of boring boring football and being shit.

Now we're just shit. But we are getting what we expected. I respect Dean for it and I won't demonise him for going for the winner. On paper we should have a great Defensive coach. Terry isn't pulling his weight and needs to step up. Quickly.

Poor game management but we were promising again. McGinn to come back in 4 weeks and a cup final only a couple weeks away.

That cup final could end up a cricket score

Worst part is that’s not even a joke

I really can't stand this style of play.

There has to be a middle ground.

I have a heart attack every time the opponent got the ball.

Bombing everyone forward. Playing at huge risk when we're in a relegation battle is f*** madness.

As big Sam said on TS, first thing you need to do when at the bottom is keep clean sheets and build from there

Considering our manager and assistant were both CB’s you have to wonder why it’s this bad

The best form of defence is attack if you are Barcelona or Real Madrid etc, when your 4th from bottom of the league it really isn’t

  15. Bad weather today, accurate passing and a good first touch is vital.

That’s at least 8 of our players well and truly screwed

This is going to be another Man City

Im dreading Konsa and Hause in this weather, they couldn’t trap a bag of cement between the pair of them
