We are pressing a ‘bit’ better. Seems like we wait until they get level with their half of the centre circle.

its about maintaining it for 95 minutes though.

Leicester look really good at compacting together in their final third and opening up when they attack like an accordion. Very nice

    🤣

That might actually be the strongest line up we can put out at the moment.

90 minute backs to the wall job I fear

With Trezeguet tracking back to cover Jack.

Unfortunately can't see anything other than a loss tonight, best we can hope for is we're still in the tie and hope a raucous Holte End can suck a few goals in during the second leg. Unless the Jon Kodjia of his first season for us in the Championship turns up I'm not too confident about our ability to score goals.

Don't play a high line ffs!!!!!!

I wouldn't play Targett, he is the worst left back I have ever seen in my life. Turns like an oil tanker and has all the pace of an asthmatic ant with a bag of heavy shopping

Yeah but it doesn't matter how much money we bring in, if we can't spend it wisely. Chances are, we're not likely to be able to replace the quality we would lose from Mings, Mcginn and Grealish leaving. I also don't think Mcginn would go for anywhere near 50m, and Mings for 40m.

I don't see the rest our summer signings actually increasing in value by much. They would probably cost around similar if we were to let then go. And really that value increase would've happened to anyone we purchased under 27 and hadn't played in the PL before. That PL experience is what bumps up their price.

I say you do seem far more optimistic of a successful promotion push first time running than I am. I think its pretty likely we don't succeed the first time as losing Grealish, Mcginn and Mings will hurt us massively and we probably won't be able to replace their combined quality. Plus I'm not very confident on the ability of the rest of our players to compete in the Championship. I'm not so sure Trez, Konsa, Engels, Nakamba and Hourihane(he'll be 30 by then) are good enough for a promotion chasing Champipnship side.

    Grealish 60m , Mings 30m , McGinn £30m

Grealish is the only one we can’t replace

I WFH 3-4 days a week these days. My team and the people I manage are spread across London, Birmingham and Delhi so don't really 'need' to be in. I'm generally only in for stakeholder meetings and even then I tend to do them via video.

    Stakeholder meetings 🤮

One of the most boring things in the world

I guess maybe Smith could look to recall Hepburn-Murphy ahead of Hogan to ease our short term desperation and then loan him back to Tranmere.

Recalling Audrey Hepburn would be a better option than that

Deano, as you obviously read this forum :P , this is our strongest 11:

                          Heaton

             Konsa - Mings - Hause

    Guilbert  -  Marv - Luiz  -  Targett

               Grealish  -  McGinn

                         Wesley

Subs: Steer, Engels, Elmo, Hourihane, El Ghazi, Trez, Davis      (Jota??)

my only debate is Engels, part of me thinks he should be in the back 3 as a starter, but part of me also thinks with Konsa, Mings & Hause, all of them have a turn of speed so the whole back 3 can play that bit higher up the field without fear of being turned, thoughts?

If Engels did get in that 3, would probably be Konsa - Engels - Mings  OR  Engels - Mings - Hause......thoughts?

I’d rather have Taylor over Targett

After every game he's either good enough or not.

Why don't we give him some time lads? Maybe he'll be good enough, maybe he won't. But the flipflopping after every game is embarrassing.

    I like him

    Brick shit hause 😍
