  1. Is that what was worn during the pre-season games? Guzan still isn't listed in the squad on the OS
  2. Intresting that Delfouneso and Holman have both been allocated the number 14 shirt for the coming season. Has anybody been to any of the pre-season games and noticed who is wearing what? El Ahmadi has been given 8, Lowton 34, number 4 is still blank- being kept warm for Vlaar perhaps?
  3. Right side, Right side give us a song
  4. I'd love to see the Holte End back to how it once was - but the cold, hard, bare facts are it will never happen. Its almost been like a case of divide and conquer - people all over the Holte who want to sing and make noise but are in small groups whereas years ago those small groups came together and made one large group - together we are strong. Also I've got to say the repertoire of songs on the Holte End nowadays are absolutely shite - where has the imagination gone? go to any ground now and basically its the same songs but with their particular teams name inserted. All the best in what you're trying sasa and I hope it works but I just doubt it will. Sorry for the pessimism. One final note - don't look back at how it was look forward to how it can be - remember dinosaurs died out because they refused to adapt!
  5. The problem that you cannot overcome is the fact that the Holte End is now all seater. I was a season ticket holder on the old Holte End for years, even remained a season ticket holder when it became all seater (thats not the point I'm trying to make). What you found when it was a terrace was that people had freedom of choice to stand where they wanted (I was usually found on the left side near the gap 2/3 of the way up - just enough to be under cover if it rained) and if a particular group was making noise that you wanted to join in with you just made your way there, no excuse me, can I just squeeze past bollocks while people tutted at you and looked at you like you were a piece of shit. You just made your way there squeezed in where you could and sang your heart out, discoed and even pushed people to begin a sway. Nowadays you have your seat for the entire season and if you don't like the people you are near then tough shit you have to rough it out. Also the atmosphere generated before a game was better because if you wanted to be in the best spot you had to be there early to make sure you got it. Now as your seat is always there, in the same spot, never moving people tend to turn up 5 mins before kick off without having to worry about making sure they are in the best place. Also while I'm on a roll - another thing - The Trinity and Witton Lane used to be where the older people chose to sit as the younger ones with less money and more enthusiasm used to be quite loud, aggresive and full of teenage angst and the football was a place to relieve a lot of this. Now a seat is a seat so the older generation who used to stand on the Holte now sit on the Holte. It's like the progression from the front of the Holte to the middle of the Holte, to the back of the Holte to the Trinity Road has stopped. I could go on for ages about this subject but I've probably said enough. Once upon a time I loved the Holte End now I only acknowledge its there. Ex-Holte Ender
  6. Apparently according to Zoo Magazine the new kit is the top flights most stylish It's on the OS - don't know how to do links but if somebody can do it for me all the better!!! Just thought I'd say
  7. Who at Aston Villa FC is making the decision on which players to let go at the end of their contracts? For the past two close seasons we have not had a manager in charge at the club but still players at the end of their contracts are let go, what if the new manager coming in wanted these players? I mean this year Heskey, Cueller, Guzan have gone - ok if McLeish didn't want them but maybe the new man might (only Cueller in all honesty). Last season (off the top of my head) out went Friedel and Reo-Coker. I know they are earning (questionable after last season that it is actually earned) high wages and the club want to reduce this outlay, and that the contracts have expired, etc. but surely it is best to wait until the new man is in place and decide if he wants any of these players then try to re-negotiate a new contract. Anyway - over and out.
  8. Are you sure MM isn't Mick McCarthy - maybe he's after the Villa job. Maybe Mickey Mouse....Michael McIntyre.....Marilyn Manson.....Mark Morrison..... Ok I give up.....I'll tune in Monday next week when its all over
  9. Would that be a certain S.Murray betting £5K
  10. mmmm.......I like it.......Aston Martinez
  11. Maybe he will get Dean Ashton out of retirement and sign David Villa. Then we will have Villa Ashton up front. Wait, I've done this joke wrong.... I get what you're doing here......Ashton Villa problem is it sounds like Schteve could be saying it!!! - say it ain't so
  12. Do people really think Lerner would have O Neill back after he had to come to an 'arrangement' (possibly some sort of compensation package) with a bloke who screwed up his job then walked away from it?? Would your old boss welcome you back to work after you'd done the same?? "that's it son, its your **** up, you've turned your back on it, I've had to pay you money for doing it.......Welcome Back!!" -----------Not a Chance----------
  13. Seems to me that the only people who are not moaning/laughing about Ancelotti not being the next manager are the bookies!! From what I've read on here an awful lot of people have parted with their cash too easily
