  1. Lets get behind him. Otherwise we are just creating news for these **** journos. I will back him. Alex McLeish's Claret & Blue army!
  2. no he hasnt he was given it from his father, and im pretty sure the browns fans absolutely detest him and reckon he's ruining every chance theyve ever had of being anything thats got nothing to do with villa tho The Browns are on the way back. Possible Playoff team this season coming or next. Following the hiring of Holmgren as GM. 2 fantastic drafts and the general feeling is Lerner has done a good job over the last few years.
  3. Is it confirmed that the plane went to Corsica? Maybe RL has gone to visit his good friend GH as he continues his convalescence in Corsica? Or maybe it's gone out to pick up RL, who may have been dropped there last time the jet visited the island? Or maybe we should all just blindly panic based on the stronger than oak word of Sky Sports News? I am not panicking. I am the sole individual that thinks he would do a good job.
  4. Pretty much the same record as MON, and hundreds went ti VP to greet him. I am not here to promote Alex McLeish, but I am sure that a discussion will take place, and I am damn sure that he would do a lot better than many of the names bandied about as 'desirable'. It is also worthwhile pointing out that he has been the most cautiously respectful Blues manager towards the city rivalry in recent memory. Now if they were talking to Steve Bruce, I would be up in arms, but McLeish is okay. He's won a lot more than Moyes as well :winkold: I take it Randy has gone back to Corsica today to chat with McLeish?
  5. Let them think that too. When we bid for players now, we will not get screwed.
  6. I have got a feeling that may be true. I think we will spend whatever we get in for selling players Think back to Houllier's and Gmac's comments about targetting exciting players. Player of the calibre to try and keep Young. We will spent £35m-40m I would guess.
  7. Tim, do you think he is one of a number we are interviewing? or is he our current 1st choice? Also if he is speaking with us then he must hold a fair bit of interest? Cheers
  8. He makes a call on Monday, Doesn't hear back til Tuesday, Then he was making love on Wednesday, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Then reports it on Sunday
  9. I thought that individual left Villa....
  10. Has he put a bit of weight on recently? Yeah he put on 4 pounds last week! Head of home economics told me. Cannot get confirmation on this. The Head of Media Studies is "unavailable for comment"
  11. Haha ...I honestly cannot tell if you are joking.
  12. Nope would never forgive MON for walking out 5 days before the season. He thinks he is bigger that the club.
  13. Most successful managers are egotistical tosser who inspire hate. Fergie, Wenger, Clough, Mourinho & Benitez. I wouldn't mind a successful tosser at the Villa! Benitez is a failure now. He has ruined Liverpool and failed at the simple job that is Inter and their dominant team. Plus nobody has a worse transfer record than Benitez. Majority of his signings were terrible. Randy would be mad to appoint another unpopular ex liverpool manager. I'd take anyone over rafa. Anyone, schteve, martinez, even gt mk3 Rafa only had a bad last season at Liverpool when the owners were messing about. Inter did not invest when he took over. But yes he should have done better at Inter despite winning a trophy in his short tenure there. All managers make poor signings, just ask MON! An interview I read stated that one thing he has learnt is too sign less players and concentrate on higer quality instead. Good to see he learns from his mistakes. And frankly I hope you are saying things for effect if you rate McClaren, Martinez and GT over him!

  15. I would rather have that tramp whom lived under the Holte end 8) I thought that was O'Leary!!??!!
  16. I doubt Darren Bent has any more idea than we do at the moment who the next manager will be. I believe he's just stating the sensible and obvious fact that any new manager needs to be given time. Perhaps his future Father-in-Law I'd rather McClaren that Bruce!
  17. I wonder what those fans think of McClaren now from the bottom half of the Championship.....
  18. Pretty sure Randy has a phone and will be involved in the decision :!: Probably right - but I would prefer it if he were here pulling the strings. I m starting to precribe to the 'he's lost interst theory' - you ain't gonna nail a top manager via the telephone. I might put a few quid on easy option Mclallister Gabby Logan put on her Twitter that she had bumped into McAllister in Leeds last week. GM was pretty sure he was leaving as soon as the new man came in.
  19. Although I think McClaren would do a decent job... It will be interesting to see if everyone who wanted Houllier to be sacked (yes I know he left due to ill health) would have been happy with McClaren as his replacement?
  20. Me too. And having thought about it, I would be content with that.
  21. He may be seen by some as a Wally with a Brolly, but he is OUR Wally with a Brolly!!!
  22. Ancelotti has said in La Stampa that he is taking a year out.
