  1. Are there any managers you would draw the line at and say they are not good enough to take us forward? I think the answer to that one is no - according to reverend ted it's not our job as supporters to have an opinion only to tug our forelock and hand over our cash He would accept any old rubbish served up to him and say thank you You need to go back and read my posts. On the last page I said supporters ARE entitled to their opinions. Do not put words in my mouth. I suggest you buy your self some glasses or a prescription moniter!
  2. That's simply rubbish You're only intention is to wind people up on this site Really, you think that statement is not true? I am not winding people up. This messageboard is for discussion. People have different opinions and if reasoned (which they have been) can debate them. Just because they are not the same as yours it does not mean they are wrong. You need to learn this.
  3. I agree his CV is not appalling, however his premier league record is.... Yes, he did well with Rangers (bit like taking over ManUre or Chelsea but in Scotland) and cut his teeth well with Hibs (after their initial relegation) But going on the Board's criteria of 'Premier League' experience then he should fail dismally.... Awful brand of football (admittedly with a poor squad) and a gift of a cup victory! I think we're all clinging onto the hope that with our players, he'll set them out to play a more expansive game (than his usual 8-1-1 formation) but I don't think he knows any other way! The truth is most managers that succeed are a good fit for the club at that period in time. NO-ONE (including me) will know if he is a good fit until he has a few months in the job. But with his record in the league, why take the risk that he may be a good fit??? Doesn't make sense?!?! I think he has mitigating circumstances. I am sure a lot will not agree. I think he deserves his chance, I am sure alot won't agree. But he may be a good fit in the similar mould to how Gregory was. Are there any managers you would draw the line at and say they are not good enough to take us forward? Plenty Brown, Megson etc. Mainly people who have not tasted any major success
  4. Bangs head against wall!!!!! Bangs head harder against wall!!!!!
  5. That would be worse. It would mean he is not strong willed to follow through on his convictions. What manager would join us knowing that the Chairman was the fans' puppet? They would never be secure in their job. We would also be a joke IN the game. As he has now approached McLeish he HAS to see it through. Why does he have to see it through??? If you're an employer do you papersift potential employees CV's but only interview one??? that would be daft!!! To get out of this, Randy can interview 1 or 2 more candidates and simply say AM wasn't the best equipped but thanks for trying! True but at this period of time he HAS offered him the job. So if he then withdraws the offer because the other staff don't like the look of him, then you would seem weak. And I am an employer. Completely different in this situation. We as the supporters should be seen as the employer. Without us the club can't survive... He wouldn't seem weak if he pulled the deal, as it would be to satisfy us supporters. We keep the club running and are the ones that will continue to do so for years to come. You can't really compare this to a normal company. Sure, you can between the chairman and the manager, yet you can't class us as 'staff'. There are only 2 managers who would have satisfied the fans Ancelotti and Moyes. Both of which there have been strong signals that they did not want to come. Would managers of any ilk be happy to come to the club that if the supporters are booing them after the second game then the owner would sack them?? We are not the employer. This is not a co-operative, this is not Barca. My own opinion is that we have become spoilt by the amount of access to the board we have had. I think that was a big mistake on the boards part. It has made us feel that we too entitled. Our job is to support the club. We are all entitled to an opinion and express it but when we demand that the Chairman keeps turning down who he believes is the best man for the job until we are all happy on one, then that is too far.

  10. Your sarcastic tone doesn't make you look clever or validate your point any further. On McLeish we shall see. His CV is not appalling. His relegations have been balenced by his success also. He is not my top choice or even in my top 5 but to say his CV is "appalling" is just incorrect.
  11. Maybe so but don't forget he has managed a club that is 'larger' than us. If you mean Rangers he was hounded out of there. The first man to finish third in a two-horse race I never said he was not. But head to head against O'Neill was he not 7-4 up on trophys even thogh MON spent loads?. And Paul Le Guen did brilliantly after him didn't he? So you think he is a good appointment??? I think he will do a good job, yes. But I always like to live my life looking at things optimistically and giving people a chance, rather that willing them to **** it up just so I can say "told you so".
  12. He already is damaged goods to an extent. He is as much a championship manager as he is a Premiership manager . I bet he can't believe his luck that us mugs are running after him. Having said that can't blame him for wanting the job. He would have been high up on alot of Prem teams lists if they lost their manager (top 6 excepted). Good fit for Everton, Fulham were linked, etc you even believe what youre typing Absolutely, but I cannot believe what you are typing!

  14. Maybe so but don't forget he has managed a club that is 'larger' than us. Did he? They compete in an easier league but there is no doubt Rangers are perceived non-biasedly as a 'bigger' club than us. Fans, expectations etc

  17. I read that on twitter earlier. And it sums things up perfectly. Hatred for mcleish? What's he done wrong? Left blues for a bigger club to improve his career. Hatred, grow up ffs. People talk as if he is a rapist or something. It's the board you should be pissed off at, they have handled this appallingly. Mcleish has done nothing wrong. I agree with you. I quite like McLeish as you will see in my previous posts. What I meant is that its a good message to people who are that upset with his appointment to get behind the team whoever is in charge. I dont hate him because of anything he has done previously, I hate him because he is prepared to take the job with very little support because he knows he will get a fat pay off when it does, there is no risk for him. Wrong. He has put his reputation on the line massively. If he fails he will be damaged goods. When you are a prem manager the money is so important but the ego and reputation is. What reputation? The reputation that he won the league cup last season as well as tons of pots in scotland (like a much heralded previous manager). Also the fact that so many people rate him in the game. Also add to the fact that after last seasons relegation he will want to prove that with a stable board at a big club he can do great things.

  19. We are not on the same level as Liverpool and Arsenal, Spurs have the London pull. Our nearest comparable is Everton.
  20. You say that like Lerner was previously head of ops before Holmgren.....he wasn't.

  23. So going back four, nearly five years ago when ONeill came in on a wave of feelgood factor, then Doug left and Randy took over, YOU NEVER thought top four was possible. Genuinely!! You really must be Mr Negative!! I think clubs like us, spurs, Everton will compete in cycles. I think Man City have put Top 4 out of sight for a while. Spurs seem to now be going through what we have done over the last few years with their best players being poached again (Modric) and drawn out transfer sagas. I know they got CL but I cannot see Bale, Van Der Vaart etc staying if they miss out again, which they will.
  24. Clark and Albrighton will get there chance. I think Clark may benefit from having a Manager who was a centre half. I am not sure the others are good enough
