  1. Tis true. Unfortunately, I am not sure that he has much experience of buying any players. Abramovich at Chelsea, Berlusconi & Galliano (sic) at Milan. That is what worries me with Ancelotti.
  2. Are you merging Hodgson & Hughes into one? Surely the fact you think he was at Liverpool means you cannot make an informed opinion on his suitability? Wow VillaRoy, you edited that quickly!!!!
  3. Same here. Also I think he would know that it will be the job that defines his managerial career. I like that in a candidate.
  4. Not good enough. Look at his record in Turkey & Holland. Cruyff laid the foundations of Barca nearly 20 years ago. He revolutionised their youth team.
  5. On Football Manager he has a 20 for 'Working with Youth'. ...but then again so did Graham Rix
  6. He is tactically inept. Keane upsets the dressing room wherever he goes. He makes GMac look like Barney the Dinosaur!
  7. Europa League counts for nothing. I am sure teams would prefer to finish 6th and not qualify rather than finishing 5th.
  8. I'm a Wigan fan and a straight swap deal between Young and N'Zogbia would be much better for Villa. N'Zogbia, scores more goals, creates more goals, better set pieces, better at dribbling and has better touch, best of both in the league statistically and is younger than Young and is on a much lower wage. N'Zogbia is also far more consistent. Best winger in the league, better player then Antonio Valencia, who we sold to Manchester United for 17m, 2 seasons ago. Which is why Charles N'Zogbia is heading to Manchester United for 12m, all but agreed. Should be sorted late June when everyone returns from holiday. N'Zogbia is a good player but with a bad attitude. United will not sign him, because they will sign Young instead. Young is a better player by far. Has N'Zogbia played for France much? Don't get me wrong, I would take him as Young's replacement for about £8m. But he needs to improve when he plays for a big club. It is easy to be the big fish in a small pond, lets see if he can be a smaller fish in a larger pond.
  9. I think we can keep him by being clever. If we keep him for another year he will be 28 before the new season starts. That would be enough to rule out Man Utd and Arsenal if they were interested. Chelsea play narrow football so I don't think he will go there. Also in a years time Liverpool will have had another campaign where they end up with no CL football. Also in order for a Spurs or City to be interestedhe needs to have another amazing season. I still think we hold the cards.
  10. I am not sure Ancelotti suits us that well. Our squad needs a lot of additions and a remoulding of the squad. I cannot remember too many great signings he has made. Torres and Luiz were bought by the owner. And alot of the signings in Italy are made by technical directors. Good coach, just not sure he is right for the job we have.
  11. But he knows if he gets it right, he can take Villa further than Fulham and not work with a chairman who is as mad as a box of frogs.
  12. Fair enough. The point still stands, the Europa League is a waste of time. If you were a manager would you go Fulham or Villa, Fulham or Everton, Fulham or Liverpool?
  13. I think Blackpool pipped them. Anyway the Europa League is not a draw for any manager or player.
  14. I am sure I am in the tiniest minority, but I actually think that McClaren would do a good job here.
  15. I can honestly see thousands staying away if fsw was appointed. I couldnt stay away, but I must admit it would be very painful to see him manage the club!
  16. Also was the PL experience thing no due to the fact that the season was already underway. I think it would be more of a best candidate search now that they should have the whole of the Pre-season to make decisions.
  17. Hi General, Please pass on our best wishes to Gerard. I hope it is nothing too serious and he makes a full and speedy recovery. He is really starting to get things moving at Villa Park. Once again please pass on our best wishes. Adam
  18. Thanks for the advice. I am really looking forward to it. I will definately add The Maid of the Mist onto my 'things to do' list!
  19. Awesome film. Denzel at his best!
  20. Won the World Cup with England last night!
  21. It wasn't just that though. There was his pre-match comments and the disrespectfuly "lucky" comment. Thats why I thought there was someting personal.
  22. I don't think it is just that he doesn't like losing ans he strated twittering on earlier in the week. Also I know Ash does go down easily but so would I with Barton's tackle definate foul. It all just seemed very personal. I wonder if we rejected him pre-GH.
  23. Does any one know what Pardew's problem with us is? Does he have history with us? In the build up he was stoking the flames about players wanting revenge for going down and giving them incentive. Then after the game, he said we were "lucky" that their better players were out. Strange wording. A bit aggressive to say that. It would have been better for him just to say that Newcastle missed their best players without referring to the other team being lucky. Then he has a hissy fit over Young. Whats his beef?
