  1. Why does McGash say the things he does though? Is he just trying to piss people off on purpose? Does he really think the things he is saying is what we want to hear? I don't think it will do any good to stay away from games but it really is the only way. I would prefer that than thousands of people hurling abuse at the man, nobody deserves that. Blackburn really was horrible from what I saw. I know in my earlier post I said bring it on but, people change. McDill really should step down - and say 'I was out of my depth' and go elsewhere. The thousands of Aston Villa fans deserve better than the shit we are getting. It's not our fault for giving MON millions to spend on **** useless crap. It's not our fault Paul Faulkner managed to worm his way into an executive position through knowing **** all about the game, nor is it our fault for the managers that have been appointed since Lerner took over. To the board, sort yourselves out because your a freaking disgrace! Your not going to have many fans turning up to games soon...
  2. Could you imagine if we lose to Manu having lost to Liverpool and Stoke? 5 defeats in a row. I think I would cry. The abuse Keane got was savage, and I was initially disgusted with the Blackburn fans. But to be honest the way things are going, especially if the above happens, then bring on the insults and boos during the following game. I'm beginning to feel frustrated at not knowing what will happen at the end of the season, I just want the next game to come along.
  3. Anybody else at that point where you want to throw something out the window and then run into the back garden and scream? No, me neither - but i think on the day we get relegated I will laugh, and then carry out the above...
  4. Are you sure!!! I think so, I believe that Houllier would have been doing ok now... And that his intentions were good, and he was evidently correct in regards to some players. Not to mention that we could have signed some damn awesome players. Wasn't Cabaye a done deal?? Yea - hindsight is brilliant
  5. Indeed he was - hindsight is a wonderful thing Everyone is intelligent in hindsight - even Lerner and Faulkner
  6. Football is football.. The great thing about it is anything can happen. Yes we look dead certs to lose every game we play right now, but we can very easily win them too.. We played better against Chelsea with half our squad than most of our games when we have had a full squad Except when we beat Chelsea at their place with the full squad... I get what you mean though
  7. Was he really in charge for 10?! Thought it was just the last 2 for some reason...
  8. How many games was GMac in charge for?
  9. If people are trying to figure out the maths then our performance this season suggests that we will win 9 games from 38... As at the moment it looks as though we win 1 in 4, so by our 32nd game we should have 1 more win, and then another by our 36th. Who knows what will happen in the final 2 games. My mate just text me to say we should do both games next season, it will be a right laugh.... He's a Leeds fan.
  10. It's just clicked... We have been shit ever since James Milner left.... Think about it... How well did we play in that first game against West Ham... Then the following week after he had left, we lost 6-0. COME BACK JAMES!!!!!
  11. I thought it would be fitting for me to get my 700th post on the 700th page... That's about as exiting as McLeish's tactics at the moment
  12. You do realise that what you have put there is exactly what will happen. It's inevitable I'm afraid...
  13. If your a fan that wants something doing then don't turn up to any games for a few weeks and see what happens?! For me I think the solution is that simple. Ok, the players will have less support but most games we play to lose anyway - but also it shows we arnt going to pay to watch garbage. All the talk about it - actually do something, it will be more effective
  14. Please mate, don't go there with the whole "do a Newcastle" thing! I sat dejected after the game and said to my Dad and Brother that this whole sorry situation makes me wonder if Randy Lerner thinks that the way forward is to do what Newcastle did. Trouble is, coming back up is not a certainty for anybody! I told myself straight after that I was talking bollocks because it is just too crazy a concept to even imagine. I wouldn't slag you off for what you said or call you a lesser fan etc. All I would say is that there are probably many who are hurting just like you, myself included. It is just so sad to read the thoughts of the ones who are suffering the most - the fans! Everybody at that club will move on at some point and the vast majority won't give a shit about the Villa. But, we the fans will always have Villa in our hearts and in our blood and we will be the ones remembering these difficult times. Just remember that it should hurt you if we go down and you should care. Randy is loaded and has so much good in his life that he can maybe afford not to give a shit if we lose, but are you in such a lucky position in your life mate? I went there, haha - but then so did you and you have had to try to convince yourself that is not the case. I'm yet to be convinced... Ah mate, it would be gutting if we went down, it really would... But since, I think around December time, I kind of realised that actually, we are **** awful. Since then I have come to terms with the fact that we are crap and may well go down. Lerner clearly does not care about the fans or the status of the club or else he would not have allowed this to happen - so until change is made, I can't part with any of my money 'supporting' the troops the way they should be supported.
  15. I'm in a weird position at the moment because, although we lost today and I'm disappointed, I dont half care as mush as I would have before. Mostly down to the events of yesterday with Stiliyan, but also, I'm kind of expecting us to go down now - I think we will be caught. I'm thinking that the board are planning on 'doing a Newcastle' gods knows why - but there we go. Of course, I dont want us to go down and I always thought before that i would cry if we did. But, if we do... After this season, Im pretty certain I won't be shedding a tear. It's obvious that winning only 7 games in 30 is pathetic... But you know what, if the board don't care, then nor do I I'm afraid. I just won't be spending any money in a rush. It's that simple. I will continue to check the results this season but they will pretty much all be defeats anyway soooo meh. Some of you will take this the wrong way and say I'm not a fan etc etc but... You know, we're being treated liked crap here and iv had enough

    Stan Petrov

Absolutely gutting news. Thoughts with stiliyan and his family. McLeish is right in his recent comments - the old cliche comes into perspective here. Tbh, I couldn't care about the Chelsea result, but on the flip side I want us to go out there and show some passion and fight in the absence of our leader. The things Petrov has done off the pitch is brilliant, welcoming new signings, helping them to settle in, charity work, understanding fans and our frustrations and coming out to offer us reassurance. He's a real professional. It's our turn to offer you some reassurance now - we're all right behind you. Get well soon Stiliyan, fight strong our friend/leader
  17. "Alex has always been one of those guys who prefers to do his business at the end of the season. He knows the most important thing is Villa winning games." Soooo we've signed Holman now because....
  18. I think McLeish maybe working more to Lerner's schedule than his own.. The Arsenal game was the perfect time to start with Herd and Gardner, it was the perfect time to start with Weimann but he didn't.. Now maybe McLeish really is stupid (a possibility), but he saw what Weimann could do with just 20 minutes on the pitch and any other manager would have started the kid but McLeish didn't.. I know McLeish has a bad rep but that doesn't make sense to me, that isn't what a manager working under his own guidance would do. I respect what your saying 100% - but there is no way that Randy or anyone else on the board is having any influence of the team that is picked. He wanted to play 'safe' - meaning that if we play crap, maybe Arsenal will play crap and won't score any. That completely back fired. He was afraid to play football. A dangerous tactic when you are where you are. I accept that he will be here next season, but he won't have long. Certainly no longer than Christmas if we find our selves in the bottom 7? Excuses of transition or funds or injuries will not work I'm afraid.
  19. I think ultimately he just wants a few more technically gifted players.. I don't think he's blind I think he can see that Gardner, Herd, Bannan, Weimann, Carruthers and others have been trained to be technically good players. We know Ireland is a technically gifted player with a great footballing mind.. If you stick those guys around Dutch and Spanish players that are trained and very good at passing the ball we have a good basis.. Sure we know McLeish likes playing hoofball but so did MON and look at Sunderland right now, I do believe that if we get rid of the players that can't play the slick passing game and replace them with those that can McLeish won't play hoofball. Ah, I don't doubt he can perhaps see a talented player when it's infront of him, nor do I doubt that he is desperate to come up with a 'philosophy' which he wishes to implement at Villa, but whilst we are in a position which we currently find ourselves, I can't feel confident about the future. If these younger players are technically gifted and what he plans on using, then why play Heskey? Blood the players now against the likes of Arsenal - they will feel on top of the world having participated in that game against fellow youngsters like Oxlade-Chamberlain... Look how he has turned out now.
  20. It should be a good tour IMO and it would be good to get some coverage stateside. My only concern is having McLeish at the helm and making us globally known for being shit Haha!! Nah, should be good to help us prepare for the season ahead. I wonder who the first away game will be - I recon Derby or Leicester?
  21. Benitez would do a good job at Villa for sure. We should have got him. We could be 6th by now....
  22. My ultimate team (Netherlands) has Elia and Lens on the wings - they are epic! Howcome we are being linked to so many Dutch players - is McLeish really going for this total football approach? There is signs of it coming through now, what with our all out attack approach and fluid, precision passing. Triangles all around!
  23. We very much are in the 'relegation scrap'. With those teams to still play each other and us to play some teams in the top 6 then we could be brought bang straight into the middle of it all. For us to finish on points that are in the 30's is disgusting, and for the prices that we are having to pay for tickets to watch absolute shit is also a disgrace. Everything is rubbish at the moment and im not bothering to attend anymore games. Especially when McLeish says we need to be realistic about winning at Arsenal - what was the **** point. We should be able to ask for our money back of that is the case.
  24. I don't get that - cuz Holloways style of football got Blackpool relegated. McLeish's style might well keep us up having been beaten less than 15 times (I think that is what will happen anyway)
  25. Guys guys.... I know the reason why we didn't win today! ... It's because we wore Red shorts!!! Think we need to give McLeish a bye for today's game, because there was no way we were going to win in red.
