  1. You can prove anything with stats. What I base my thinking on is what I have seen on past performances. He played well last match but over the years I have lost count of times Gabby has been through on goal and mishit his shot or weakly hit it straight at the keeper. The first few years he was in the Villa 1st team he was great, after that more useless than useful.

  2. Wouldn't be as bothered as many if he did go but overall Don't think we should sell him. Would like to see him with better midfield and more competition for places which we now have. But must now push on, so far not living up to potential and needs to do much better. If he is still playing as inconsistently this time next year move him on. Personally think if he is to really make it and live up to the hype it won't be at Villa. Sometimes players are to close to a club and often think that's the case with Jack

  3. Posted before match that he shouldn't be starting. Didn't see game. Glad he played well. Still shouldn't be starting. shame we didn't have SB here when Gabby was messing club about about, to call him out like he has with RMc.

I do think Bruce has done the right thing (he's a manager not a fan) bringing him back and his timing is justifiable with the AFCON and perhaps even his record in derbies. However I take issue with not bringing on a kid for him at 70 when Bunn could do no worse.

From now on I don't think he can start and Bruce should be judged more harshly if he keeps the faith under awful performances. I don't mind him coming on because we don't have many options but there's nothing to lose by having someone who at least plays the striker position as Gabby can't even do that.
RHM really has missed out by not signing his contract, he could have been a genuine option to start for the whole month.

Hear what you are saying and it's fair reasoning but to me I just think I'd rather see a youngster in his place in the squad. Gabby has not added anything to the team since his return absolutly nothing and to hear Bruce wax lyrical justifying his inclusion. about who is and what he has done in the past concerns me as he has now played a number of games all with no positive impact, no assists and no goals. Times up for him, would rather see an U23 given a chance,  they couldn't do any worse.

  5. The single most concerning thing about Bruce's time here so far. I didn't expect amazing flowing football and think that he would would improve that with better players but his insistence on rehabilitating and now playing  Gabby is very concerning. What must other players think and what message does it send out, basically if you mess about, treat the club with contempt there's still a place for you. I just don't understand how and why Gabby has not been put out on gardening leave.

  6. Once every 5 games or more he does something good, just enough to keep everyone hoping and believing he's some mercurial talent that will come good eventually. Unfortunately the truth is 90% of the time he doesn't offer enough or have enough end product. To caught up in his own hype and gets an easy ride off many fans because he's a local lad.

  7. Just before wolves went on the attack to score gabby runs after a ball with Wolves defender and before it goes out holds his hand up, stops sprinting and calls for a villa ball, meanwhile the Wolves defender carries on sprinting, collects ball before it goes out and starts a move that eventually leads to the attack that results in a goal. Rubbish

  8. I'm not sure about RMc... I like him as a player but acknowledge he should be scoring more. His record speaks for itself and can't be questioned and like others have mentioned he looks like he wants to pass move and get it back but for some reason villa cant do that, just pass, move and lose it or hoof it. Desperately needs a better more powerful midfield behind him and a couple of goals to get his confidence back and we could see a lot more from him.

  9. Offers nothing and as pointed out needs moving on not only because he's rubbish but because of everything that goes with his association with and being Villa. Tired of hearing about how he is "mr villa" or"villa through and through".

RDM was right to try to move him on and I think both Gabby and les deservingly Ashley Westwood both kind of sum up the last 5 years, not good enough.

Bruce needs to stop with playing him, can't understand the thinking and so far it's the only real issue I have with his management

  11. many other players and positions need fixing before Gollini I think. Think he needs some decent back up though. If our midfield and right side of defence were so open and easy to walk through we wouldn't be chatting about him. Considering how exposed he is left so often I think he's alright. Got a few mistakes in him and young but a good keeper overall and could be great given time. Sort the other 10 out so we have a midfield, get Baker back in place of Elphick and then get them all playing to a system where they know there roles.

  12. Very poor from Bruce today and whole team. Fair dues he apologised to fans in post match interview but he needs to settle on his team and stop with the resurrection of Gabby, it's not working.

Although frustrating with his passing Jedinek looked like the only player in centre of the park at least trying to play, was essentially doing the job of 3 midfielders the entire game!
