Research has shown it takes 10000 hours to master a skill or learn something properly... based on that stat i reckon i’ll give DS (and the players) more than 2 or 3 training sessions before expecting any more than we have seen so far. Work in progress, we have to look and think long term now and DS knows that, just hooe the fan base do to. Think most do.

When the beat us last year at VP i wished he was our manger so i happy with this. Was a bit distracted by the Henry media show but think in many ways this might be more suitable, especially if his team coming and JT. Good luck Dean, please stick to your footballing philosophy, you got my support

I would be hopeful that JT would get the gig if Henry starts to flounder. Be surprised if its that combo myself.
Or how about an american football type setup, JT on defense, TH on forwards and ian Taylor on midfield duties?
Sorry, getting silly now
-
If there is any truth in the JT and TH combo, they get on and feel they can work together and we put a solid structure around them then lets go for it... brave new world at villa. Might all go t*ts up but cant get much worse than how we are at present can it?

More i think about Rogers as manger less I think i want him. Didnt really do it when it mattered at Liverplop and lets be honest Celtic is not the most challenging job, done well domestically but hasnt done much in Europe... also if he has said he would prefer a prem team then **** him, dont want him if he’d rather be elsewhere and we are his second choice. Comes across as very sulky as well to me, had enoigh of that with Bruce... strikes me he perhaps thinks he is better than his record shows.

I am saying that it's highly unlikely we will sign a world class manager and I am bi being shouted down for it.
As I have said now several times.
Let's just see who we get.
Cool mate, absolutely - lets see what happens. I hoping for someone progressive thats all, happy to give Arteta or Henry a try but equally wouldnt be suprised if we end up with Moyes it seems the way it goes with Villa. Just enjoying the chance however slight that this might be that time we might find our Nuno or Pep.

@One For The Road you keep saying you are “telling it like ot is”. In truth however you are on a forum speculating with others and unless you are ITK your really have no idea how it is same way as the reat of is. Chill out a bit with the shouting down of people enjoying alittle hope.

Because that is what will probably happen.
Yes. I would prefer any tempory situation other than SB as manager

What anoys me most is that bruce is lowering and has been lowering expectations ever since he’s been here, i’m sick him and his self preservation retoreic. So much so that i now almost dont care if we win or loose, i want some hope but instead i just feel apathy!

Didnt like the way he and dunne apparently were with Hollier when he was manager. Bit of a word removed by all accounts. Would rather we didn't bring him in but if he and chester works well together then maybe.
-
In his interview he said the bit about having two up top and being something he’s wanted to do for a long time but hasnt been able to.
I dont rememeber us doing this when we had all the strikers avaialble. Is it me with selective memory or steve? Also notice how at that point he starts scratching the side of mouth, commanly interpreted as an indication of deception, that or covering the mouth or scratching nose is a comman gesture if lying. Or maybe he wasnt, i just have an interest in psychology and asses to much.
What really gets me though is his insistance to verbally shut down any critisim of him as soon as someone even dares to question him. He is very derogatory about critics, calling them mad. Which in Collymore’s case is very insensitive in regards his mental health issues over the years (if it was aimed at him and no matter how much of a nob he is)
please just leave, so bored of the whole steve bruce show now.

It's obvious with the front line we now have and us still playing defensive football, tells me he is waiting to go. It's just playing safe, not losing, an waiting for the pay off. He must know he is on his way. His thinking may be, there is no need to develop a new plan with these players, as his tenure is coming to an end.
So hope thats the case. So bored with SB and his team right now. Apart from the physio i look at our bench and see SB and all the coaches we have sitting there and think what the **** are they doing each week back at BMH, cos its not happening on match day... unless they are specifically training to look disjointed and like they have no idea. Just some sort of atempt at a way of playing, an identity would be ao refreshing. Move on SB amd take all your staff as well

Looked very fruatrated most of the game, swinging his arms around when passes didnt reach him or balls just flew past/over him. Probably wondering whats has he let himself in for. With some tactics and strcture in place reckon he could be scoring plenty

Elmo gets ball wide, crosses, attack over. Repeat repeat, repeat. What did el gazi do they get replaced by him? Beuce Out

CB is a tough position for a kid to learn. any mistake will probably cost a goal. and will cost the team precious points. I don't blame bruce for not trusting him. I'd much rather have experience at the back.
It's a good idea to throw him in at CB against Yeovil tho.
Even if that means they make sloppy passes that lead to goals being scored against us?

His best moment today was when he was in the CB position covering jedi who along with Alan had managed to lopse the ball and put us under real pressure, AT made an excellent tackle and then passed it out calmly to one of our midfielders. Didnt think he looked comfortable at RB, just makes no sense Steve, pleass play him CB!

Wonder if Johnstone would have stayed/come back if he new we would be in the position of signing him now rather then going to the tesco bags before our new owners turned up? Reckon he might have, shame. Still good luck to this guy, hopefully gets his confidence up and is as good or better than Johnstone

SB - Tactics?

Like the kits, much better than training gear. If we do well/ok this season i might buy one when discounted next summer. Refuse to give TX as little profit as possible for now.

Training kit fail.

Makes you wonder the point of due diligence that is supposed to happen when someome buys a club. Sadly sounding more and more like Xia, Wyness and Samuelson were a bunch of chancers pinning hopes on promise of premier league riches

Shit the bed! When things are bad only Villa can take it to the next level

The personification of all that was and is wrong with this great club
overhyped, overpriced player on ridiculous and unsustainable wages that have no correlation with what he has brought to the tream and zero resale value.
