Denis_B
If the club wont issue more shares, then how about setting up a company that buys shares - to put pressure on Ellis? It's called the Shareholders Association.... also the Suporters Trust do this. Price increases effect everyone. Shares give you the choice plus you then have a say (be it minimal) in the way the club is run and you do keep the shares and you could even make a profit. ozvillafan Posted January 30, 2005 VT Supporter Share Posted January 30, 2005 I pledged money to the Buy a player fund. I'd use that and more to buy some shares... if, that is, overseas ownership (of only a few shares, admittedly) is allowed?

Denis_B
They are available to anyone. Perhaps a PM to the Fear might be worthwhile (Chair of Shareholders Association)
blandy Posted January 30, 2005 Moderator Share Posted January 30, 2005 I just voted NO The phrase "you must be f'ing joking" came to mind. I did it once, "a good bet in the short medium and long term" they said. Lying b*stards. I'll pay to watch the games, but that's it while Ellis is there. He made himself about 4 million quid at the last share issue. I wonder if he had any vested interest in going ahead with it? He's leeching the club, but he's not going to leech of me again. If he went, then Villa would get a lot more of my money, and I suspect I'm not the only one that feels that way
ozvillafan Posted January 30, 2005 VT Supporter Share Posted January 30, 2005 Fair enough, Blandy. Question (in all seriousness) : If another share issue goes ahead, does it strengthen Doug's position or will/can it be seen as a signal that the club is "ripe for takeover"?
