steve1986
Hi all, my Macbook screen has developed a crack over the weekend. Now the screen is not completely ruined as I can still use the computer but it is very annoying. Does anyone know of a cheap way to fix it? Or am I best buying a new one? I hear there is a new macbook pro being released in June...
The_Rev
You are leaving out far too much information to be able to answer that question properly. How long have you had the machine? Is it still under warranty? Do you have Apple care? Is it insured? Do you want a new one anyway and is this a convenient excuse to buy one? limpid Posted May 28, 2012 Administrator Share Posted May 28, 2012 Also, how did you crack it?
steve1986
Sorry for the vagueness of the initial post. a)I have had it for 6 years now Definitely not under warranty c) No apple care d) Not insured unless covered under house policy e) I would like to save money rather than buy a new laptop but it is slowly becoming more redundant (still better than my brand new work laptop mind) f) I have no idea how it broke, I woke up and turned it on and there was a black spot/crack down the right hand side of the screen :? TheDon
d) Not insured unless covered under house policy It should be if you have accidental damage cover. But at 6 years old it's probably not worth claiming for anyway. The excess and increase in premiums will probably be more than you get for it.
