limpid Posted May 18, 2012 Administrator Share Posted May 18, 2012 for dodgyknees: It's a 7" android tablet not yet launched in the UK. There are people selling them in the UK for £140. Amazon haven't given a launch date for the UK yet, presumably they are still negotiating with rights holders for content, like Google Music. Dodgyknees
Sweet, cheers mate. Might look into getting a few of these. Do you know if it has Wifi/3g?
limpid Posted May 19, 2012 Author Administrator Share Posted May 19, 2012 I think it's wifi only, but by the time it hits the uk, who knows?
AVFC_Hitz
I would like to ask a (probably) stupid question. I want to get the new Fire HD. I'll be ordering it from the US as it's only $199 and some friends are going there in two weeks. I'll be using outside the US. Will I have full usage of all the bits and bobs on it? I mean, can I download books onto it from Turkey, from the US and UK amazon sites?
limpid Posted October 1, 2012 Author Administrator Share Posted October 1, 2012 I really wouldn't get a Kindle Fire. The Nexus 7 is the same price without any questionable import tax evasion and it can do everything a Kindle Fire can and then some.
The_Rev
Agreed. I think the only way a Kindle Fire is as attractive a buy as the Nexus 7 is if you live in America and have Amazon Prime. It's designed to serve up media which isnt available outside of the States.
