CVByrne
Think my battery is ****. I've a Galaxy S2 Phone was on and near fully charged and now wont turn on. When I plug in to charge it brings up battery icon but doesn't show a little bit of green to show it's charging. Just the empty battery icon, this then disappears and 5 seconds later reappears, cycle repeats. I've taken the battery out and gave it a few hours before trying again, still doesnt work. But it seems this will need to be charged externally or a replacement battery got. Anyone ever had a battery prob like this?
darrenm
Batteries are consumable items unfortunately. Only £20 for these on eBay.
CVByrne
Yeah bought a new one on ebay today. I've been told it's always worth having a spare one anyway.
CVByrne
Well 3 hours out of the phone. Popped it back in and it works fine, has 57% charge and all. That was an odd one
limpid Posted April 4, 2012 Administrator Share Posted April 4, 2012 My Xoom did something similar once. It has an integrated battery, but I left it on charge overnight and it was fine when I booted it in the morning. I guess there is a controller circuit in modern batteries and they get in a funny state.
darrenm
I've got a spare battery too. It's worth keeping spare Li-ion batteries charged.
CVByrne
Yeah I'm happy enough to be getting a spare battery. Very useful given the price.
