Slightly OT, but I'm just revisiting the Ian Fleming James Bond books. 'Live and Let Die' (1954), gets no further than page 6, when we encounter the line "Hardly anywhere in the world will you find a negress driving a car". 

The racism just ramps up from there.

That's  funny, just read it this weekend, was in need of something  fairly light. It's comically bad at times,  as well as very racist. Fleming was an odd man
