BOF Posted April 14, 2020 Moderator Share Posted April 14, 2020 Lockdown has made me do projects. Grrrr. I've now discovered my current desktop no longer works. Or rather the HDD doesn't work. But as it's about 9 or 10 years old it's due an upgrade. So I'm using it as an opportunity to buy a gaming desktop. I don't really want to 'buy a Ferrari to go to the shops' so no mental money. But I'd like to try and get the best I can for the money. What are the dos and don'ts of current gaming PCs? I've heard GPU must be NVidia. Processor should really be Ryzen. The monitor will need to be included in the £700. Tips and tricks welcome. Danke.

A 8gig Radeon RX 590 runs pretty great but it's not the newest generation Ryzen 5 is the right move. The_Rev
Found this on Reddit from today. I'm way out of the loop on desktop rigs these days but I think Reddit, Resetera or Rllmuk would be places I'd do some research at.
