  1. jacks loyalty mission steals the show so far

I just did this one on my game, and it is a cracker. Possibly only Samara's mission could top, havent got to that one yet on this playthrough, can't wait to though as I'm playing renegade this time...

  2. The sex scenes in these games, and the Dragon Age games for that matter, actually in any video game ever where there has been one, are the funniest things I have ever, ever seen. I think I mentioned it in the DA thread, but the gay one with that latino guy is **** hilarious. They're just incredibly chessy and terrible. I'd much rather the screen just turn to black.

  3. Was he a Villa fan? I seem to recall reading that he wasn't too bothered with football, but another member of the band would lock himself in a dark room for hours on end when Villa lost.

I suggested War Pigs earlier in the thread, don't think there were any takers though  Though I'd actually prefer Sweet Leaf, replacing Sweet Leaf with VIL-LA :D

  4. They used to call Alan Wake sandbox too, and look what the early promo of that turned out to be...

Hopefully this doesnt go the same way!

wake WAS originally sandbox, they changed it when they couldnt get the car mechanics right

I know, that's what I was alluding to. You could still drive a car in it though, does that mean it was sandbox? :winkold:

    First look

"Imagine Borderlands set on the Just Cause 2 island with the Left 4 Dead style of zombies, featuring a quest system similar to Fallout 3 and the weapons system of Dead Rising 2. Blend all of that together, and you get Dead Island; or, as Deep Silver likes to refer to it, a "first-person zombie slasher action RPG."

    Bold statement.

Yeh, on reflection of 'first person with an emphasis on melee attack' the first thing that comes to mind is oblivion on an island with zombies, and by the sound of that it seems a pretty accurate. Is there any mention of the size of the island in that article? Can't get into it at work, but the size of the Just Cause 2 island is huuuuuuuuuuuge. And size matters, of course.

Whoa hang on, Deep Silver? They're the guys who made Risen...so retrack my 'oblivion on an island with zombies' and replace that with Risen and I'm not so excited anymore. Although I did like their Secret Files games...but they were point n' clickers

  5. villaajax, that is truly impressive. I have only witnessed such things before from crazy japanofile kids who adorn every corner of their bedrooms with anything and everything associated with anime. I was half expecting to spot some in your pictures...is that the other side of your room?? Such dedication. I applaud you sir

    Ps. What is your bedsheet?

  6. The reason my French side is Montpellier is because they were my favourite Subbuteo team that I had. Lovely kit. I didn't ever play it properly though, used to use the little 'Monsters in my Pocket' figures (below!) as players too

I'm planning to recreate the Holte End from subbuteo stadium parts

    Fuckn awesome, do eeeeet

  7. I said a few posts back I wanted to see Biutiful, but haven't been able to find a cinema that's showing it!

There was a free screening of this at The Electric just after new year. It was one of the Grolsch sponsored things, they put them on at FACT in Liverpool too, you just have to apply for tickets when they announce they're putting one on.

As for where is showing it now, had a quick look around around and it looks like this week is the last for screenings, at the few places that are still showing it (FACT and The Little in Bath are)

  8. Mine is a first Gen machine, been sent back twice under warranty and got the 3 rings again. Spoke to Microsoft who said now it is out of warranty I'd have to pay £80 for a repair. Checked out youtube vids and bought a repair kit off ebay (approx £5), followed the youtube video instructions nd never had a problem since.

Basically the heatsinks are removed from the motherboard and the clamps holding it on (the x clamp) is replaced with screws and washers, which allow the board to expand/contract under heat.

I found the whole excersise quite thereputic, the dust and shit inside the xbox was a right mess and in the end I never had a problem since.

Interesting, I'm going to have to try this. Mine is an old Xbox (don't know if it's first gen as you say, but I presume it is/close to be being as it doesnt have HDMI) and it's started to freeze not only in games but on the menu now too. Will give one of these repair kits a go

  9. Great KO. Really really want to see him move and fight GSP now. There's nothing for him at MW

Jon Jones lives up to the hype aswell, dominated Bader. Could be a massive upset (would it be?) on the cards for his title fight

  10. It's my favourite. Liquified marzipan. Yum
I don't get this. I LOVE marzipan, but I hate Dr Pepper - and I don't think it tastes anything like marzipan. In fact I was surprised to see somebody hated it but loved cherry Coke; they seem very similar to me - that artificial chemical cherry taste (which is nothing like real cherries). Red Bull is in the same nasty ballpark. I'm sure when I was a kid I was given medicine that tasted exactly like it. Horrible.

Oh OK. When I tried it the first thing I thought was 'this tastes like marzipan' and that has always remained. In fact when people question the taste I say it tastes like marizpan and they say 'you're right! it surely does'

You must be drinking it wrong. Sorry man.

  11. I like clearing in the woods. One of the better word filters I've seen on a forum, it's certainly better than word removed which is used alot. I haven't been around long enough to 'get' the other ones though

  12. Just watched Pandorum, thought it was pretty good.

I liked it too. Although I am a sucker for that sort of stuff, abandoned space stations, aliens/monsters, etc...I'll give any sci-fi horror a go, and probably enjoy it too. I don't think it did well commercially though, and the rest of the proposed trilogy hinged on that
