  1. I wont belive its a 5th consortium until its reported and we know the consortiums name. I'm taking things as Lerner is defo still interested and didnt want to face Ellis again and sent 'his people' to go over the assets again before tendering a bid
  2. This would make sense and back up BBC's report of a prospective Lerner bid coming on later this week. Surely it cant be a 5th consortium at this stage
  3. Wjhat are the possibilities that this IS lerners men but the media have it wrong?
  4. Yeah just watched it myself, pics of Doug showing 3 yanks around Bodymoor and Villa park... who the hell are these guys? Apparently they turned up this morning and Ellis has been in discussons with them till 5pm this evening
  5. Premature.......but NOT wrong! They aren't denying this link with MON though are they? It says "extremely premature"...and they havent denied any link...not even Warnock, Platt, Wilkinson, Eriksson or whoever you might speculate on. Dont jump on things that arent there to jump on... Of course it isnt wrong that they´re soon to sign up a new manager...remember that we dont have any manager. It is perfectly logical that the club will announce the capture of a new manager...whoever it might be. Extremely premature...premature....whats the difference??? My point was that Villa AREN'T denying the reported links with MON which have been repotyed today, or any other manager in fact, which leads to even more speculation that it will be MON. Everyone knows that a statement from Villa can come out one days denying they are goinbg to 'unveil a new manager' then 48 hours later they do exactly what they denyed. If they really didnt have any intentions of appointing a manager till the TO issue has been sorted then surely they would have said that in a statement rather than saying its 'extremely premature'

  7. It depends on the report you believe I suppose. There was one yesterday saying all four bids were united behind MON. It may be true, may not be. I think with the timescales involved though having some kind of acceptable interim solution agreed on is a good idea- we need a manager in asap. I would agree with the opinion though, that if Doug thinks he can hire O'Neil then back out of the takeover stuff he'll be in for a shock. What does Aitken do that is so wrong? I think it is very overrated that Villa need to bring in MON. So you'd rasther Aitkenm stay in charge than MON come in?
  8. Didnt they report last Tuesday that Lerner would make a £60-£65mill bid 'within the next 48 hours'? Dont recall a bid going in though. At the moment its hard to know whats fact and whats speculation which is the irritating thing about the TO
  9. I should imagine Lerners 'people' will talk to rothschilds 'people' to test the water again after the initial Ellis - Lerner talks were held. I reckon that if Lerners people hear the right things then another face-to-face meeting will be set up. I cant imagine he will fly over again unless he's 100% sure things will go his way.
  10. If what Five Live is reporting is true then surely Lerner will negotiate with Rothchilds only, plus the fact Roathschilds will ensure Ellis sticks to all the rules meaning he wont be able to up the anti at any time. Maybe the roumer of MON's possible appointment had an underlying meaning afterall, please let this be true!
  11. SSN making a big fuss about Randy Lerner this afternoon, thought it deserved a mention.
  12. IN I think DOL has a lot to offer given the right investment and right support from a board. People say PROFESSIONAL players cant do their jobs correctly if not managed correcty, then how can a manager do his job correctly if he isnt managed correctly by his boss - Dougie? You can call for DOL's head untill you are blue in the face but the fact is NOTJING will change while the current board is in power whoever is in charge, the manager is just a pawn in this soap opera of a football club, its a..... JOKE JOKE JOKE
  13. For suer KEEP HIM. Ive always been pro - DOL and said he (and the team) would turn things around for us and im glad he's proving my right so far. Long may it continue UP THE VILLA
  14. Hey you never know some lucky Villa fan might have won tonights euro lottery and with his/her £105 mill winnings may buy the club!!!
  15. DOL = IN Who could do any better under current circumstances?
  16. When I first read the statement I immidiately though 'oh thats it, the takover is as dead as dead thing' but im trying the read between the line here and maybe the appointment of a financial advisor is a good thing. This advisor will be able to handle the sale of AVFC meaning that either this one is close to going through OR Dougie is proactivly searching for someone to buy him out - something we all want. This thing that I dont understand is why the appointment now, why not before christmas time? I guess its come to a 'put up or shut up' situation for both sides. Comers to put up the cash and Doug to put up the club. If this takeover is going to happen I feel we will hear something quickly and if we dont im afraid it might be dead.
  17. Again my hopes have been set too high and are now down around my ankles like a 2 dollar hookers underwear! BOLLOCKS!
  18. Thats a scarey though, I can imagine ellis's head being preserved in a glass jar like on Futurama and running the club forever!
  19. Although I woudl love to read 63 pages of this topic I aint gonna. So to ease my old mind can anyone give me a summary of where we stand on this takeover (other than paper talk which im fully clued up on)
  20. Ive got everything crossed in hope this deal goes through and maybe, just maybe we may have a board in place that has vision and is ready to back our manager to build a better team. UP THE VILLA
  21. isnt there enough damn Baros threads already grrrrr lock this one please mods!
  22. I think its a decent signing. Let face fact, we arnt gonna attract any top strikers or will we ever splash out £10 mil on a striker so I think the experience of KP will do us well. Angel, Vassell, Phillips, Moore - not a bad strike force me thinks, could be better but not bad at all. Still think we need some flair and creativityb in the midfeild area though
  23. I vote NO, although I rate Barry as one of our better players I just feel there are better left sided players SGE could choose.
