  1. Might need Kiyotake to room with Stephens. That hotel bill is getting pretty hefty as it is.
  2. Could be brought in on a lease, er, loan?
  3. Surely there won't be further updates until Moonday.
  4. Only if he's given squad number 13.
  5. Truly Apolled at some of these puns.
  6. Should help us wax last year's waning finish. Crescent. Eclipse.
  7. This signing is a chance for us to plant a flag and leave our footprints on the global transfer market.
  8. I think we needed to strengthen the squad for next year regardless of the result of this season. The current XI don't seem to be outclassing lower level competition by any means. Good to get (hopefully plural is correct) some guys into the setup, and hopefully they can hit the ground running whatever the scenario next year.
  9. Randy isn't paying for experience. It's this guy and perhaps the foreign CB, or it's nothing.
  10. Is that a direct quote, or did you just copy and paste and change the day of the week? Tragically funny either way I guess.
  11. Surely it would only be a miscue if he found a Villa player at this point.

Windows 7/Opera 12.12 Quotes actually look OK in the quick reply preview, just not after posted. I tried the clickable icon as well as typing quote tags and it made no difference.
  13. This is dodgy at best, but I think it's funny: Incredibly, Big Apple Soccer attributes a league source in a report released on Wednesday that says, among other things, that current Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert (above) is one of three remaining candidates for the head coaching job in New York. ... The coaching vacancy has also been linked in recent weeks to... former Aston Villa assistant Gary McAllister. Not quite sure what the thinking is there. Perhaps they're just blinded by the aura of success these last three seasons. "Oh, let's have some of that!"
  14. I'm fine with sacking Lambert, but I don't want to see another managerial search from Lerner. Not sure what the optimal, realistic course is.
  15. You were right, the Capital One Cup away goals rule isn't the same as Champions' League. At 2-0, it goes to extra time anyways, and then if it stays 2-0 after extra time, Villa would win on away goals. I may like that rule better, actually. Just not used to it.
  16. Apparently if it stays 2-0 after extra time, then 2 is enough. That's really pushing it with our defense though.
