  1. Thanks guys for all the suggestions. Darrenm...you the man! :hooray:  It took a bit of fiddling but I finally managed to get things running through the Netflix desktop. Cheers!

  2. Does anyone know of a way to get SkyGo working on Ubuntu? I've tried googling the subject but have run into a brick wall. It seems crazy that there isn't a way to do it?

  3. Does he never bring girls back? Maybe after he's had a few he can't resist the old "p*ss on my face" line? I mean we've all done it.......

Guys we've all done it right....it's not just me?

    ;)

  4. Don't panic guys...the situation is set up perfectly so we look forward to KP scoring 20 odd runs before he throws his wicket away playing some ridiculously extravagant shot ;)

  5.

I know Tory supporters aren't generally the sharpest knifes in the draw but if they think this is a good idea that takes it to a whole new level of denseness

Most people who vote for any of the parties aren't that sharp

Now now Bicks don't spoil his fun it probably took him weeks to think of that line ...

I enjoyed the fruits of his labour. It's just a shame he couldn't keep his knife analogy going until the end of the sentence, knives don't really have denseness. Maybe 'obtuseness' would have made it better better for me. ;)

  6. Why does the phrase 'on the make' spring to mind?

    "Our ancestors got nothing,"

    Which is true but...

Leaders of more than a dozen Caribbean countries

suggests that subsequent generations have. Unless of course those Caribbean countries are worthless?

  7. The guy has got a point about Watson. Opening the batting when his side needs to bat for over 5 sessions and the guy was playing a shot at every ball. What a clown! It was like he doesn't understand what test match cricket is.

  8. Great knock from Root but for me England should declare overnight and probably should have done so in the evening. They should give themselves every opportunity to win the game as quickly as possible. All the talk of 5 and half session being enough is probably true but let's face it, if England haven't wrapped things up by tea on Monday then they'll have a sweat on. Just get the job done and start planning for Old Trafford.

  9. Broad was absolutely right not to walk. Right or wrong, the days of being a gentleman on an international cricket field have long since disappeared and no team have done more to destroy that spirit than the Australians over the years. If it had been a faint nick and he hadn't walked nobody would have complained, why should he walk for a massive edge? The principal is the same, the batsmen knows he has hit it. The Aussies didn't want to listen to Trott earlier in the innings when he told them he had hit the ball, so let the umpire decide.

  10. As a Welsh rugby fan I have to say that the decision to drop BOD didn't shock me too much, although I was as disappointed as anyone else. There is no point in people feigning surprise at they way Gatland has set up the team or the way that they will be asked to play. Wales have played in exactly the same way for the last six years and there has never been an alternate plan. Skill, talent and form are not key factors in a Gatland team, he has his favourites and he likes players who will do EXACTLY what he tells them to do. That's why players like Jamie Roberts can go 3 years without a good game or Phillips play 1 barnstormer in 10 and still be an automatic on the team sheet. It's the reason why probably the most skillful Welsh player, James Hook, will never win another international cap whilst a plodder like Rhys Priestland will pick up another 50. It's also the reason why the best player in Wales over the last 12 months (Tipuric) won't start one of the Lions tests.

Having said all that he has brought success to Wales and still has the chance to do so with the Lions. If they win he will be 100% vindicated in his decisions, if not...well he knows that he will carry the can. Kudos to him for having balls and the conviction to execute things in 'his way' but certainly a resounding booooo from a 'rugby purist' point of view.

  11. I actually think that 25 million is probably a fair price given what the guy has done. Yes he had a great season, yes he seems like the real deal and yes we all have great hopes for him but we all seem to be forgetting that there have been many other premiership players that have had one barnstorming season and then turned out to destinctly mediocre (Andy Johnson anyone?).

  12. I've gone with a 5-8th place finish as I would have felt like putting optimistic and 9-13th was an oxymoron! Plus I think there is a real chance not because we have such a great team but I think a couple of last season's top 8 may struggle this season (Everton & West Brom, I'm looking at you!) and we seem as well placed as any team to potentially fill the void.

  13. Well done to the Aussies thoroughly well deserved. They showed tremendous character and dare I say, the Lions choked under the pressure! Looking forward to next week, the Lions do have the better team and if they play to their potential are capable of winning comfortably...the question is can they?

  14. I'm glad that CED managed to break from the herd and steer the conversation away from car puns which were mostly a load of bull.

  15.

    Signed. 3 year deal.

There all signing on 3 year deals! Means if they play well they will all want a pay rise after a year.

Perhaps they've all signed with options for us to take a 4th year for a % increase overall on their wages after year 1 has ended

Eg, player signs on £15,000 per week, impresses first season, we tack on an additional year and his wages go up 25% to £20,000 per week

Splitting hairs but a rise from 15k to 20k would be a 33% increase not 25%. (pedant)

Anyhow...welcome Antonio! I hope he develops a playing reputation to match quality of the beard.
