  1. Yeah, Inter are playing a 3-4-1-2/3-5-2 with Nagatomo and Pereira as wingbacks.

I'm liking the 3-5-2, fits the players we currently have well (apart from Lichaj).

  2. is on a lot of money and a big contract and we all kind of know he will happily sit there raking in the cash until it expires.

Do we though? He left a big contract at Man City to join us for regular first team action. I would be inclined to say he would do so again.

  3. I noticed that the stadium announcer pronounces it 'Benteekee' as well. But I'm sure I have also heard him refer to himself as the way the commentators on TV pronounce it, on a promo video on the OS when he first signed.

  4. Their fans are so arrogant after a couple of wins. They all think they're gonna beat us comfortably, especially with the best DM in the world (Lucas) and the best striker in the PL (Suarez) ready for this. But this just takes the cake:

After seeing Villa again, I'm going to up my prediction.

We are going to win this game upward of 4-0. I suspect 5-0, although 6-0 wouldn't be an unreasonable prediction. Villa are easily the worst side that I've ever seen in the top flight in decades. They are abysmal all over the pitch. No cohesion, no belief, no guts, no ability, no desire.

This, my friends, is going to be an absolute battering come the weekend. Villa are going to get absolutely pounded into the floor.

This will be the easiest game that Brendan Rodgers will ever have for this club.

This is worth bringing up. Hahahahahaha.

  5. Don't know if anyone saw, but when Bent came off against Norwich, he went down the tunnel for treatment and came back out and sat near Lambert. There was a clip of him and Lambert sharing a joke and laughing about something together.

Didn't look like two people who supposedly don't get on.

  6. I remember watching The Olympiakos - Arsenal game and being impressed by Abdoun. We could do with a player like him. I was also watching YouTube vids on Finnbogason and Filip Djuricic impressed me too, direct running and good range of passing.

Someone with a bit of flair is what we need.

  7. I still have hope for him. He's played left-back before for Newcastle quite a lot, so reckon he might be a better option than Lichaj on the left in the current system.

It's frustrating though. There's a quality player in there, he's proven that in the past. It's just getting it out of him. I don't think he's an out and out winger; he's someone like Arjen Robben who cuts in from the right forward position and causes havoc, rather than someone who offers width and provides crosses.

  8. He's getting better and better with every game for me. Was my man of the match yesterday, looks like he's been playing in the Premier League for years, although his crossing does need work. We finally have a solid, dependable right-back.

edit: Forgot about Luke Young. He's got the potential to become a bit better than him though, i think.

  9. This will be the first time I've been to two games in the same season before (I think), after I went to the Swansea game earlier in the season.

    I would start with:

    Guzan

    Lowton - Vlaar© - Clark - Baker

    El Ahmadi - Westwood

    Weimann - Ireland - Gabby

    Benteke

Stoke are poor away from home usually, though they did just beat Baggies at The Hawthorns I guess. I'll go with 2-0 to us.

  10. Would prefer Ya Konan, but he's probably unrealistic. Tbh, I don't see why either would leave Hannover who are doing well this season, especially since Diouf only joined them half-way last season and who I think has already entered talks about a new deal there.

  11. Thanks adz. Have you been keeping up with his progress at all? Do you think he could make a fist of it in the Premiership or would it be a step too far?

Haven't been tracking him as such, but I know Carlisle were very keen to sign him, but he saw himself higher up the the divisions.

I'm unsure if the Premier League would be a bridge too far or not. He certainly was head and shoulders above any other centre back I've seen play for Carlisle, and most other defenders who have visited in the league for that matter.

  12. If Lambert doesn't like him, or can't fit him into his system, then I think it's in both parties best interests for him to find somewhere else to be honest. I am a fan of his, but if we aren't gonna sign any outright wingers and stick with this narrow system then he's just an expensive passenger.

If we still had Young and Downing, it would be different. But since we don't and with Lambert seemingly not a fan of direct wingers, I think the money we get could buy us some more strength in depth, which we badly need.

Sign a more technical player to go up top playing off Benteke/Gabby, and we won't miss his presence too much I don't think.

Obviously if we do have the money to spend on some quality service for him, then it's a no brainer to keep him. But if we're sell to buy in Jan, he could certainly be sacrificed..
