It's hilarious reading Celtic forums.

It's really leaving a bad taste in my mouth that we appear to have been after this guy for most of the season, then suddenly Lambert and Stan - two of this club's all time heroes - have come in and hijacked the move at the 11th hour.

 

they're not exactly 'doing their jobs', i.e. looking for signing targets of their own; they're on the blower to Neil then chasing our targets, it seems.

 

 

 

I really don't like or much respect the way Lambert (and potentially Stan, with the Bulgarian link) appears to have gone about this one.

 

Villa really do epitomise what's wrong with the game in England. They are very much a extremely average side who can only attract decent players with money alone. It's very unlikely that they'll be challenging for anything soon, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were relegated sometime in the near future. 

 

 

What are we meant to do, just let them have the player because they think they saw him first? 

That Alex O'Hanley guy on Twitter says that one of his contacts in Poland (who told him he is close to joining us) is in fact Tonev's agent.

Lichaj at the moment is a better left back than Bennett.

I honestly think there's a top, top player in there somewhere. He has such potential. Comfortable on the ball, great long range passing, and can keep things ticking over. I just can't see him ever being much more than he is now if he stays here, which is unfortunate because I think given a solid season of two of being first choice he would really blossom.

Honestly, I think a place in the hall of fame is a but much.Would he have got in if he didn't have the diesese? I don't think so. Sentiment has won over on that one imo.

Don't get me wrong, what he's managed off the field is wonderful, battling such a horrid illness. But his performances on the pitch haven't warranted an inclusion into our select list of just 12 players in the hall of fame.

Don't know. It's not like they're similar players. Lambert said in his presser yesterday that he wanted a target man type player, and while Bony is decent in the air he aint especially tall.

We should make Wilfred Bony a priority in the summer, probably cost around 7-10 m.

Well we know the management like him as we were 90% done on a deal just before deadline day, until Vitesse moved the goalposts at the last second.

Could be one of those transfers where you say "what if". We got Benteke anyways so it turned out alright I guess.

Yeah. It was more the fact that he was like a parasitic leach who was never worth what we were allegedly paying him rather than lack of ability.
