We'd certainly be stupid not to consider £30m for a player we paid about £7m for only a few months ago. I agree.

But I also think it would do more damage than good by selling him. We have what looks to be a special talent, and the disappointment of him moving on will make the whole good vibe around the club of late totally detiriorate.

Van Persie didn't score 20 goals a season until he was 25. Before then his top highest was 13. In his first season - 22 - he got 10 goals, 5 in the league. This for a top side.

Finished watching all five seasons of Friday Night Lights yesterday. It's easily one of the best series I've watched, but I just felt a bit cheated by the ending and there were a few issues which I was dying to know more about.

Spurs are in negotiations with Leandro Damiao according to his club Internacional, so it looks like they prefer him anyway.

He always looks really uncomfortable, especially when passing. Not his biggest fan, but he played really well last night and he breaks up play well. That challenge on Sessegnon in the first half sticks in the mind.

At the risk of rustling a few feathers, credit has to be given to Randy for sticking with him. I'm not Randy's biggest fan by any means, but whether through fiscal constraints or personal discretion, at the moment it looks as if he has made the right call.
