  1. I don't think anyone has been overreacting in criticisms of Southgate. His managerial deficiencies have been well known for some time. Not only is he ridiculously limited as a manager he's actually compromised. His inability to drop favourites, his inability to spot the same problems that existed in the Euros with team shape etc. He's been allowed to waste some amazing football talent that has a lot more in the locker.
  2. The problem is Wagner have their own agenda, The Russian Forces theirs and the Kadrovites have theirs and they all despise each other. Wagner because they're mecenaries, the Russian forces are perceived as weak, and the Kadrovites are just clowns. It's a match made in heaven.... for Ukraine.
  3. 2 clear chances... wow. If it wasn't for Kane being poor with the header at the end, England would've walked away with 3 points. It doesn't mean England would've deserved the win either. It was a poor game that nobody really deserved to win. Neither created much and neither really looked like scoring. It was an all huff and no puff game and was imo the correct result, but each to their own.
  4. It is a great result for the US. Beat Iran and you go through. So it's all in your own hands, which isn't bad going into the final game. From an England point of view, it was abject to say the least. It's not taking anything away from the US but if England had a decent manager and played to our strengths. Had the right players on the pitch and we should be winning these games. imo.
  5. Well, they'd have won then, so yeah. But they didn't, so they didn't deserve to. So my point stands. They didn't have any other clear chances, so one shot against the bar doesn't count as a goal, a win or being more deserving of a win.
  6. Kane talks shit. It was a terribly abject performance. Foden not getting gametime in front of Mount is criminal.
  7. They didn't. They pressed well, created some openings and had a shitload of corners but they didn't deserve to win. England didn't either. It was a pretty dreadful game tbh. The US definitely didn't deserve to lose.
  8. I'd rather Wilson than Kane at this point. If your CF needs to drop into midfield there is something fundamentally wrong with the system. Especially when that CF is slow as f***.
  9. Southgate hasn't learnt a thing since the Euros with regards to this team. Such a clown. Stones and Maguire are a liability, Mount produces absolutely nothing whenever he plays. Kane is always too deep. Just dreadful.
  10. Sakha and Mount off. Grealish and Foden on
  11. Stones, Maguire and Trippier are far too slow playing the ball forward allowing the US to press easily. We just aren't trying to play between. It's slow, ponderous and England are looking shite. Mount is also a waste of a player. Get JG in there instead ffs.
  12. Wales have been horrendous. Rode their luck v the USA in the 1st half and rode their luck in this game. I think England will send them home.
  13. He can feel unlucky, and should really be in the side. But, like Argentina with Messi, Brazil and Neymar, the need to have them in the side is going to be at the detriment of both sides imo.
  14. I really like the shithouse and that is goal of the tourney so far. Stunning finish.
  15. Look... I'm not advocating treating Russian POW's as sub human(even though thousands will be). These decisions will be made by the Ukrainian government, and from what I gather most are being treated well-ish. Far better infact than Russian's are treating Ukrainian POW's. What I don't agree with is your idea that the world needs to be involved in looking after and rehabilitating Russian POW's so they spread the word and become, "deprogrammed" as you put it. How are you going to deprogram not just decades, but hundreds of years of oppression. With Western propaganda? Or actual news that's interpreted as propaganda in the East. It's all great in theory, thinking a few good meals and some stories around the fire will change a life time of indoctrination, the reality will be a little different imo.
  16. Read the thread. The original remark was treating Russian POW's. Not the general Russian population.
  17. I'm sure if you like you could write to the Ukrainian Government and see if you can start a rehabilitation program and home a few Russian POW's if you fancy. Tell them how they've all been naughty boys and that the West is really nice. You could read them a bit of Tolstoy when tucking them in at night too. Just make sure you bolt that washing machine down.
  18. Imagine having to tell this woman when she recovers from her injuries, that her baby has died and why all of a sudden we all have to be nice to Russian's. "Sorry love, sorry your baby died, but we want Russians to see that we are nice".
