He's literally playing footballers whose legs went 3 years ago because they were good lads in 2007 or summat
Exactly my point. He's got no mind of his own

I don't think Southgate picks his team based on awards given out at music shows.
I think he does. He goes whichever way the media wind blows. If tonry is flavour of the month on sky, southgate will pick him.

Genuinely think it will be a much harder game/tie than some are expecting

Ivan Toney presented an award at the Brits last night, just to add to the media love in about him. Its stuff like that, genuinely, that will make southgate pick him over Ollie

Hopefully along with other commerical deals. You think they could be selling Villa Park naming rights to cover it?
Quite happy for them to sell the naming rights as it will still forever be known as villa park to me

He's nowhere near terrible, he's absolutely fine as 3rd/4th choice. He's just not as good as konsa or pau

He reminds me of when Boris Johnson played a mini football match with some schoolkids and rugby tackled one of them

Huh? It was clearly his foot that was injured
Poor attempt at humour and by me saying its an ACL out loud, it definitely will not be (as per my betting history)

If the right offer come in I think the board would look at it, if it means it gives the club a healthy FFP margin.
Let's face facts, until our revenue starts increasing we have no choice but to sell players for the right price, it blows I know but what other choice done have? Invent a company to sponsor us for 100m? Cook the books?
I really would not be surprised to see a top player leave in the summer to help spear the additions to the squad.
I might be totally wrong, but say we sold watkins (whether or not people think its an option) we would still need to replace him.
So we sell for say 70 mill. The cost of 'trying' to replace his output, work rate, likeability etc is going to be more than that. For as player of that quality, wages are likely going to have to break the bank also and be more than what ollie is on.
So if we do all that, are we not just straight back into a massive ffp shit cycle?
Also, we know what we'll get frok ollie each year. Any new transfers, partixularly strikers, are always a big gamble as to whether it would work

Ben Chilwell - would rather digne and moreno every day of the week

Still think there is another level to him. Was utterly abysmal during the first few games with us but has really progressed. Intelligent player

Some classic outtakes in this thread if you go further back
All of the critcism he received was based on fact. He was utterly useless for a long stretch and at times gave off the impression that he was lazy.
Testament to him that he has worked so hard and is now playing brilliantly, a joy to watch.
Going back to slag off posters who were bang on with their observations at that time is really odd.

Thought the worst after they got their second. Thought he settled after that and was fine. Fair play. Hoping pau and konsa are back quick though
