  1. Still amazed at that assist for our second. Had every right to take a shot there but was patient enough to put that pass on a platter for Douglas. For a young player to be that advanced mentally tells me we haven't even begun to see how far Jacob can take his game.

  2. This Klopp retirement tour is absolutely going to power Liverpool to a season treble. The media love fest is going to be insufferable but to make it bearable go ahead and make a little money off of it along the way. Already have a decent wedge on Liverpool to win the PL. Going to do the same for the Europa League.

I've got to be honest I don't think he has done a lot wrong all season. I know some question whether he is good enough for a side challenging for top 6/top 4 but as things stand now after 26 league games he has 23 appearances (19 starts) and has held his own whilst we have been top 4 for much of the season.

He's fine as long as we have Pau to handle the progressive passing from the back line. Then Cash gets to do what he does best, running the wing and getting into advanced positions when the opportunity exist.

Without Pau his inability to play a forward pass gets found out and our overall play suffers.

It's going to hurt when he leaves in the summer isn't it 🤣

Would break the British transfer record if he did. Chelsea should be desperate to sign him but they spunked every thing they had on the Ukrainian blue and company.

From what I remember, Moreno had made some sort of mistake just before and Unai lost his rag a bit. I think Digne was either taking the bullet for him as part of the left back union or being told he's going to be coming on for him.  Ended up changing it straight after the yellow card in the second half.

😂 Since Moreno was way on the other side of Villa Park's massive pitch Digne had to catch the fury meant for Moreno. You could see Lucas was so close to cracking a smile but knew if he wanted on that pitch he better just take it quietly.

Let's say he gets like 20 goals and 15 assists and we get top 4. He'd have to be in the running for PFA POTY surely? Just off that alone you'd have to consider him our best ever striker in the PL era.

Ollie wins it as long as Liverpool don't win the title. Salah will get it then along with klopp winning manager of the year.

  7. Add another corner conceeded goal that never would have happened with Mings in. Have to be pushing at least 10 now.

Keep working big guy. You will absolutely have a part to play in our champions league campaign next season.

Yeah 2007-08 but they were mostly from crosses or set pieces, Bailey's assists are more varied. I did say Bailey's challenge will be to do it consistently for next 3-4 years, if he does he will eclipse Young.

Agree. Bailey absolutely looks to be the better player.  Now just needs to bring the consistency part. Honestly if Unai gives us a couple more years we will have a # of new Villa legends that will surpass anyone from our previous time in the PL.

Anyone else love how Unai pronounces his name?

I have a co-worker named Jacob. Been producing the Unai way all year. Just doing my part to keep this amazing run going.

He played in a worse team in a different role, he was used far more like Ramsey is, a ball carrier. He would be great in the Ramsey role now with Moreno over lapping on the left

Bailey has already bested Jack's best year at City as well. Leon is truly on an amazing run. He is averaging a goal contribution every 90 minutes or so. That's a world class level of production.

    Grealish

Bailey is on track to have more league G+A than Grealish has ever had in a season. Jack was amazing but he never had much end product.

He has had two ACLs. That’s got to have had some impact on his game.

Definitely has to play a part. 2 years from now he will be tearing it up wherever he ends up. Just can't see it happening with us.

  13. Amazing what happens when you throw your arm around a player instead of banishing him to the bench when he makes a couple mistakes. With a confident Leon we are going to see some absolutely jaw dropping stuff in the future. Every game he pulls off a move where I need slow motion replay just to figure out what he just did.

Can't remember seeing a player stumble as much as him in a game and still being that good :D Was ace today, MOTM in stiff competition with Ollie and Luiz.

The stumble is part of the trick. You think he is falling over but he's just baiting the defender.

  15. Goal and an assist while barely breaking a sweat. All becoming very routine for one of the best strikers in world football 🥱

The alleged 80% of clubs worried about FFP in January transfer window will likely be the same in summer

Yep this is where FFP helps us immensely. If City, United or Newcastle wanted him they could offer a wage that Villa could get no where near.  With the FFP concerns even the biggest spenders have to be prudent.

  17. If a CB lets a striker get goal side of him then the CB screwed up. Emi was slow to come out and then took a terrible angle in the process. Cash got done for pace and should have cut out the cross, putting it out for a throw or corner. As with most goals conceded there was a compounding error that led to a striker getting a tap in on an open net. Good on Emi to take the blame.

Just shows Emi to be the leader that he is in defense. He knows that Clement is on his 3rd team in 3 years. Probably struggling with some confidence issues there. He needs Clement focused and not arguing over who messed up on a non-consequential goal.

Yep, if villa somehow made a space where I could get there at 12, watch Brentford vs Liverpool, then watch Fulham vs villa, then watch man city vs Chelsea and leave at 8pm, get some half decent food and get served a good beer as easily as I could any local pub I'd happily spend the day and half my wages there

Villa dont seem to understand that, they're competing with pubs in town, even my time spent in the Holte Suite they just didn't get it

That's the modern stadium experience. You don't just build a stadium, you build the bars, restaurants, and hotels as well. Then the club gets a cut on everything spent not just what you spend in the stadium.
