  1. Let me get this right... Houllier leaves villa (or is told it's best to call it a day) no real surprise, it was on the cards. The next day Hughes leaves Fulham, a definate surprise to everyone at Fulham. A week goes by & Jol is appointed manager of Fulham. A week goes by & villa appoint nobody My point here is Fulham had no idea they were going to be in the market for a new manager & land a bloody good one too. Villa have had the possiblity of needing to appoint a new manager for several weeks & yet we are still without one. If Sparky does come to Villa & now it's offical Jol is Fulham manager then I think that's madness, a real side step. We should have just goon after Jol to start with as i belive he is by far a better manager than Sparky. Hopefully i'm wrong & we'll appoint a superior manager than Jol, here's hoping anyway
  2.  :? From what I can see players of note that he bought include Rivaldo, Tomasson, Nesta, Seedorf, Kaka, Stam, Crespo, Jankulovski, Cafu, Ronaldo, Oddo, Pato, Zambrotta, Flamini, Ronaldinho, Beckham. for all them great players he signed he won 1 league title and 2 Champions League in 8 years at Milan. Not that great a record I'd settle for that down the Villa. Carlo would be the most decorated manager Villa have had in the modern era. There is no way we shouldn't be jumping at the chance if it came up. If someone had told you 12months ago that we might be signing him people would call you crazy, and rightly so. Everyone outside Villa thinks it is crazy thinking he would come to the Villa, but i say sod them, Carlo we welcome you
  3. What about a McClaren and Southgate 'dream' ticket? That was a joke by the way, lol
  4. Ancelotti would be a massive gamble I reckon, but the bigger the gamble the higher the reward could be or equally higher the risk... I see him being a real success or a massive failure & I don't see Randy being the gambling type.
  5. From what I hear it's a Dutch sauce. Yes it must be a sign...Martin Jol is dutch...it must be him then
  6. From what I hear it's a Dutch sauce. It is now....sold down friggin the river by Heinz
  7. HP is the only reliable sauce to come out of Birmingham, period
  8. I think I might pass up on that rather dull offer Dull yes, but Moyes ain't coming peeps.... nothing to see here, move along
  9. Go to Skysports football site, click "premier league" tab, scroll down page to "more headlines" till you see "Moyes rejects villa rumours" but when you click it there's nothing there. it's been like that all day??? Can't see Moyes leaving everton, he said he wouldn't leave last time, so what's changed? Hughes is a sideways step, no better than Martin NoDeal (but at least he wouldn't take any shite of the players) Needs a high profile manager for me
  10. agree, what's to stop him leaving villa if a "bigger club" needs a new manager. rather have Moyes for commitment but can't see him leaving the Toffees
  11. McClaren's record is pretty good really, apart from England of course which everyone remembers him for the most but at club level he's had some success, league cup with 'boro, league title with Twente, only given 6 months with Wolfsburg before being sacked. but don't forget he was assistant manager at Man Utd under Fergie in the late nineties
  12. I think it will be Steve Mclaren myself, not saying that's who i'd like, but i think Randy doesn't like poaching managers in jobs already & Mclaren is available. I'd prefer Martin Jol, not sure if he's managing at the moment but if he's available let's get him in. Can't see Moyes leaving Everton no matter what Randy can offer him.
  13. Some great replies posted guys, i have been have been in the dumps the last month or so with villa , reading these comments have made me feel better in a strange kind of way & agree with a lot of the replies made Overall Martin has been a sucess, a good manager, not a great manager. In his time as manager it's been a rollercoaster of highs & lows. He's bought some average players & they came good, bought some good players & some rubbish that he should have moved on when surplus to requirements. Highs for me: Consistant 6th position, Carling cup final (Guttless ref!!), Carling cup Semi being 2 nil down to whipping Blackburn. Beating the Bluenoses 5-1, Beating Liverplop & Man ure on thier grounds. Qualifing for europe. Lows: Fielding weakened sides in europe, crashing out of europe at the 1st attempt. getting hamered 7-1 by Chelski. Lackluster performances. PLayers players out of position, Lack of squad rotation towards end of season. More highs that lows, so all in all a success but the biggest disappointment is his timing to leave it's really left us in the crapper, very corncerned we won't get a manager of his calibre when we actually need someone who is better, we may end up with someone worse. can see us 8th - 10th this season rebuilding starts summer 2011
  14. I am sure that RL looks at our bench and sees around £40m worth of players in L Young, Shorey, Sidwell, NRC, Davies and Delph and thinks to himself "I am sure i could have gotten more for my money than that lot". How many of us have questioned MON's tactics in the transfer market over the 4 years? Successful or not, we have questioned a lot of his buys. I wouldn't be at all surprised if RL got pissed off with him as well and that's why he decided not to give him any more money. "Nail Head on Hit the"
  15. MON was a decent/good manager.. now we must have a Outstanding manager.. that rules some of the names above... but there aint much available.. could we prise someone like Jol or Moyes away from there clubs so close to a new season..probably not
  16. David Moyes for me, Great job there with hardly any cash Glad Mark Hughes is at Fulham now....
