I thought he might want the record but if he's willing to leave England now I don't see why he wouldn't next year too?

He has no choice if he wants to leave Spurs this summer. He’ll have no shortage of offers next summer.

Bayern can negotiate a contract with him in just under 5 months for a free transfer too!

If he ends up leaving for free he will 100% stay in England, think the scoring record is important to him.

We won't be signing Adams, just like we won't be signing Doku, Johnson, Felix, Pedro Gonçalves and so on, the players the media constantly link us to are never the ones we end up signing. Players we sign are usually players we get linked to initially and then sign within a week.

You keep saying this but I'm not sure Pau Torres fits your narrative. Might be that some transfers work one way and some work another. No one sizes fits all rule to this.

  4. Still seems really odd the Saudi's havent come in for him. Given the blue print of players they are targeting he seems like a very obvious target.

So either we have made it clear we want to keep him or he has made it clear he doesnt want to live there. Probably the latter.

He's looked a little bit quicker to me in pre season. Still not really done anything. Here's hoping Unai can rejuvenate him.

I was thinking would fans here accept what’s happened to Leicester? Get relegated within 10 years but you win the League and Fa Cup?

Everyday of the week. What a journey they've had. Pretty sure they will be back before long too.

Can't forget Aaron Ramsey in this, he was better than Philogene in the Championship last season at a younger age and without any prior experience in that division, I feel like if JPB deserves a chance then so does Aaron, this was the general consensus before a couple of friendly games.

Agree we should keep them both around but we need to consider how much they will actually play. Only Unai really knows that. No point keeping them just to sit on the bench like Archer did in first part of last season. If we can see them playing then I’m all for keeping them around. On Ramsey I feel like he needs games to grow like JJ did. However JJ came into team at a very different time for the squad. My feeling is Aaron might have to do a lot of his learning on loan.

Put £500,000 more per week in his bank

Let's guess that in Hendersons 15 career to date he's earned around £75m

Hes now off to get £36m a year, in 3 years he'll "earn" more than his entire PL career

Like I said that's the madness of it, it is life changing money for even someone who is already rich, he's won the big one on the euro millions rather than just the UK lottery

TBF he’s won the UK lottery and then also won the Euro millions.

I'm not delivering it. I'm not a postman. They want their parcel they can come get it. I'm not walking down the street with their package to give it to them. I wouldn't expect anyone to bring me my parcels in that situation, I had to go do the embarrassing 'sorry I think a parcel was dropped off for me?' thing with the neighbours before now, I'm not someone else's servant.

I get that you have your own foibles so probably think about these things differently to most people.

But just to put a slightly different spin on it.

I had this same situation but I was the person who had ordered the parcel. The postman never left a note saying itd been delivered so it only occured to me a few weeks later, what happened to that thing I ordered.

I then contacted the company and found out it had been at our neighbours all that time and duely went and picked it up.

So the person might have no idea where the parcel is at this stage and might not for a few weeks yet. So the only way out of your current frustration might be to take control of the situation. Could you not just leave it on the doorstep or behind the bins with a note or something?

Zaha to Galatasaray is odd. He's a very good player even in his later years, he can still add to a squad like Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal and even us.

Either try and win something or go and get a bag in Saudi/MLS. Galatasaray just confuses me, I really can't understand it.

No way they can have offered him much more than Palace. Only answer is they were the only Champions League to come in for him and he wanted to experience that before he retires. Got a bit of respect for that tbh doing that rather than going to Saudi. Much easier options for him to take but he’s done the uncomfortable thing in order to tick a box for his career.

Losing Olise and Zaha for £35m is going to be painful for a club like Palace. Need to be very careful about their next moves or next season could quickly get difficult for Roy. I’m amazed nobody had a deal done for last day of season if he really had that release clause, that is a real bargain.

  10. He’s a player I rate and would have been very exciting but at this point I’d be pretty embarrassed both for us and him if this happens. He’s shot himself in the foot in dramatic fashion. Difficult to see where his career goes from here.

I never got the hate for Preece, seemed a really good bloke, passionate about Villa

Didnt hate him as you say seemed like a nice enough bloke. But he wasnt the sharpest tool in the box. Townley at least seems like he's got a bit more going on upstairs.

    Random Retegui speculation

Very interesting link - this is what VT and Twitter should be for. Looks to come from someone who is a journalist connected to his current club.

Seems to be a different type of striker to Ollie which lends itself to the profile of someone who can play with or instead of him. A very Monchi type signing too.

IF it happened would presumably mean Archer or Duran going out on loan.

They can barely afford to register their own players. In what world can they afford Felix either on loan or permanent?

Such a mad statement but context is key. Not sure what it is in this case. I’d still love us to sign him.

If anyone can make up some random numbers that satisfy both the regulators and both clubs it’s Barcelona.

"Gregg Evans is transferring from Aston Villa to Golf, in a sign that the club cannot compete. This will come as a blow to supporters who had hoped to keep hold of their main reporter but reflects the reality of where Villa are at."

Yet more made up bs by wannabee ITK's. I know for a fact that in the next week it'll be announced that fans will be offered a new package for an extra £73 per game when they will be able to sit within ear shot of Gregg at every game and listen to his views on our current status with regards to FFP.

  15. Journeyman footballer - scored four goals in national league as a centre forward for York City last season. Biggest claim to fame is he scored against Wrexham so has half a chance of being on the new Netflix series.

NOT good enough for where we want to be.

    Monchi out.

Forest would want something stupid like 50 million, or half a new north stand, for his services.

Pretty sure infrastructure spending doesn’t count towards FFP. So you might be on to something here.

Carlos is a strange one - he's clearly got a lot of quality about him, and he's talked about as someone that's very much respected around the training ground for his qualities as a player and a professional, but I do wonder with the competition we have in the position, his injury and his age whether we'll ever actually see him play on a consistent basis.

I think we've seen the drop off in Van Djik who had a similar injury at a similar age, and I'm sure that Diego Carlos will feel the effects of his missed season to some extent, you'd hope he'll come back strong, but there are a lot of question marks.

From memory, he's only played two games for us, one of which was a terrible team performance, and the other the game where he got his injury, so we've never seen him settle into the Premier League, then he's missed a year with injury and now he's coming back up against two centrebacks who had excellent seasons and a new one who comes with a huge reputation and a relationship with the manager.

I might be wrong, but I'm not sure how he fits in the side - I guess if Konsa moves out to right back that increases the opportunities he has, but at the moment, he's fourth choice.

Be interesting to see him sprint. Not seen him do that since his injury, will be interesting to see how his achilles holds up to that and the rigours of keeping up with rapid PL strikers.
