  1. Stopped at Warwick Service station on way from from Chelsea game and had breakfast at place called The Good Breakfast. I know you shouldn't expect too much but it feels like they need reporting to trading standards because Bloody Awful Breakfast would be a much more accurate name for the business. The food struck an impressive balance between being incredibly over cooked and dry while at the same time being tepid verging on cold.

The black pudding was like a soil that just spread all over the plate. There were no beans or eggs available so the only moisture came from totatoes which were so overcooked they were like a pure mush which was almost a ketchup.

Overall in the top 3/4 worst breakfasts I've ever had.

Avoid if you get the chance!

Great atmosphere, Villa Park was really ready for the occassion.  Just trying to imagine how good it could it have been had things gone better, but even so the fans stayed with the team all the way.

Well not quite all the way. The stadium was half empty by the end of the game.

I recognise this will piss off 50% of the people on here as it was probably them but we call other teams out on it so I'm going to do the same here.

It was our first European semi final for 40 years - yes it didnt go to plan but everyone would agree if we'd have scored that pen it would have been crucial for the return leg. So why not stay and cheer your team on to try and get that 3rd goal in the dying minutes. Our players put everything into that second half, you could see how tired they were. Wonder what it did to their mentality to see so many leaving with 10 mins still left to play.

I just dont understand it - crowd was incredibly loud for a lot of the game. Fans giving everything to sing their hearts out and get behind the team. And then they just leave when the team needs you the most.

And for what? To get home 10/20mins earlier on a Thursday night and go to bed? Get an extra 10/20 mins sleep.

Funny thing is because so many people had left early the traffic was an absolute breeze when I left.

    Anyway rant over.

Had a a very friendly hug with Pochettino before the game. I reckon there was something in those rumours in January.

Yes I noticed that too, can’t see how they could possibly know each other otherwise.

Hopefully precautionary and with olsen having to play in europe maybe they thought it was good to give him some minutes.

Desperately hope you are right but I don’t think you take off a player like Emi in a game as big as that as a precautionary measure.

Alexander Arnold is going to be both a problem and a joy for the next Liverpool manager - he's got an amazing range of passing, great vision and he's excellent on the ball, he's never a right back in a million years as he doesn't defend well enough and lacks the discipline for it, but he's a hell of a footballer - whether someone wants to build a team around allowing him to play as a sort of quarterback in front of the back four like a scouse Pirlo while others do his work is another thing though.

I heard on a podcast this week that he’d never played full back until he got in the first team. Played as a wide midfielder all through the academy which explains a lot.

Olise is already top four level, we'd be lucky to get him, will probably end up at Manchester City or PSG. He will beyond a shadow of doubt move to a Champions League side, the only possible exceptions are Newcastle or Chelsea if either one throws big money at the situation, his younger brother is in Chelsea academy, but wih Palmer, Hutchinson, and Madueke, not sure they need him, then again could say the same about us with Bailey and Diaby, Eze would probably more suit our needs but again, but would be very strong competition for his signature.

Not sure Need is a word which gets mentioned much in Chelsea transfer discussions.

Quite like Warnock as a pundit and he was a decent Villa player too.

You can tell he has an affinity for the Villa always has that feeling when he talks.

He was so bad in that last season for us in a way that makes these comments from him make a lot of sense.

He scored one own goal that looked more deliberate than any other own goal I've ever seen. I'm not sure I ever forgave him for that but I will now after reading these comments. Not that that will change his life one little bit!

It was abysmal I feel bad. Are you able to get Terrace View or Lower Grounds? If not going to have to play the constant resfresh game a la Wembley visits in years gone past. 100% odd ones will come up in the next week.

For example I just went on and there was 1 available!

Well, tried to buy tickets at 5pm when it opened for members. Eventually got on the website, then spinning ball for 5 mins, then a message:

”Our website is closed for maintenance. We will be back as soon as possible”.

I had 2 in the flipping basket when it melted

Those prediction percentages swing massively with every result at this stage of the season. If Chelsea beat us and Spurs beat Arsenal, which is not implausible, that 80/20 would probably flip back in Spurs' favour.

Yeah they are not a million miles away from meaningless. England was 79% or something likely to get 5th and then it swung hugely based on results.

Jackson and Mudryk seem to get most of the stick but Madueke has been a dreadful signing

We made him look like prime Robben at Villa Park.

  13. Just realised that Matty Cash (unbelievably) has played the 6th minutes for us this season.

Outside of Martinez, Luiz, , Watkins, McGinn and Konsa who have played almost every game  the rest of the squad through one reason or another has had pretty good rotation.

Should hopefully stand us in good stead for the run in.

Torn. Want Arsenal to win to help us out but also want our/Emery’s win against them to completely unravel their season

As unlikeable as Arteta is Dortmund and Munich losing would go a long way towards relieving us of a huge amount of pressure.

We are just as bad, our stadium emptied when Spurs dicked us.

Our stadium empties when we are chasing a last minute winner or hanging on to a narrow lead.

At Brentford it’s 3-3 with 7 mins added time. At 85 minutes people are streaming out, guy next to me says he can’t believe people are leaving now. 90 mins comes up and then he gets up and leaves!

I get the traffic is bad but who cares about an extra 20 mins at home.

Anyone else notice a pattern with Youri?

After an injury break, it seems to take him alot of games to get back to his best, but once he is there he is peak.

Just hope he can stay fit now and ride the momentum till end of season.

Yeah he's a player with a long ramp to his fitness. Not someone well suited to being a back up player. Good news is whatever happens now we have some form of European football next season so he'll be getting plenty of games for us regardless.

    Don’t forget Unai.

Think this covers period Feb 23 to Feb 24 so Unai was before that.

My guess was Tielemans was a large chunk of this £20m.

  18. He's one where I've really wanted to believe, and wanted it to work for him.

He "nearly" scored in his first 5/6 games and it looked promising.

But these days I've lost the faith - he doesnt look like a footballer let alone a talented one. He works hard but is as likely to give away a foul as make a tackle. When he gets the ball it bounces off him more often than it sticks. Even when he gets it under control he more often than not makes a poor decision. Just looks like a player playing out of his depth.

He clearly has at some point been a decent player and we've seen with the likes of Bailey that players can turn these things around with huge amounts of effort and will.

But right now he's one I'll be happy to see go in the summer.
