  1. James Collins fit the day after Wolves meaning he was fit to play Wolves. On a day that we needed him either Houllier wouldn't play him or Collins doesn't want to play for Houllier. When you think Collins isn't a Villa fan, why would he want to play for Houllier? He hates him, his style of play and I have to admit I support Collins 100%! How can half of the squad be wrong about GH and Houllier right when we're 3 points off the bottom? Houllier definately needs to go! Before I go, my prediction Ashley Young will play a blinder for England and then be non-existant at Goodison. Collins and Dunne will both start for their countries this weekend and will pick up an 'injury' before the Everton game. Or they have been dropped for a "footballing reason." HOULLIER OUT!!!
  2. General, today James Collins has passed a fitness test to play for Wales against England in a Euro qualifier. How can he be not fit to face Wolves but after a day off on match day with no training at all be fit to face England? Surely this is yet ANOTHER sign that ANOTHER player does not want to play for Gerard Houllier in a huge and vital game. How are you backing him? Not one player is! Barely any fans left are! What is your view on James Collins suddenly becoming fit to play? Will Dunne magically be fit to play for the Republic Of Ireland too? WHAT IS GOING ON?????
  3. General it's simple. Let a few of AVFC's fans into the dressing room to motivate the players and tell them what we want to see or please do the honourable thing and give us back our money! It's well documented that students are struggling for cash so I could really do with the £550 I've wasted on Aston Villa this year back. It would pay for my books next year, my travel, a few good nights out and the rest would go to my student fees. There is more to life than Aston Villa and until AVFC stated tonight that Houllier isn't going I was never going to leave. But as long as Houllier is here, not just me but the majority of your fans will leave! We turned up for Wolves just like every week with phenominal support we give, however it was not a football game, more like a French retreat! "I WANT MY MONEY BACK! I WANT MY MONEY BACK! I WANT MY MONEY BACK! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!" EDIT: To prove just how much I care about this awful decision, I'm in England, it's 2:50am and I'm posting messages to you despite the fact I have to be up at 6:00am to go to a lecture. Be warned, if we have to protest in the car park, the training ground, the club shop or Villa Park itself, we will not rest until Houllier is gone! You may find it acceptable to sit back and let this unfold but the Aston Villa faithful that have claret and blue in their blood will not see us go down without a fight! If we have to fight you then so be it because right now the board has made an absolutely awful decision!!!
  4. General, can I make a suggestion please? Allow 5 passionate Aston Villa season ticket holders into the dressing room for the team talk against Everton and Newcastle? Never have I seen a team lack so much heart compared to Saturday! If you gave me the opportunity to speak to them myself for just 1 minute it would mean the world and we could get their arses in gear!! Please can the club get a handful of fans in that dressing room? Or even famous fans like Ian Taylor, Martin Laursen, Tony Morley, Paul Merson and Ron Atkinson? Please! Bring some motivation into the club!!!!
  5. How the hell can you back a manager that REFUSES to work on defending set plays in training? He refused to work on it and that is what lost us the game against Wolves! It cost us losing 3 points at Bolton, he had 2 weeks off to correct it and he refused to us through the press that he would train the players to defend. Instead they played paintball, got drunk, had a bust up and we got in a huge mess. Came back to play in front of a big crowd and the exact same outcome happened Saturday that unfolded at the Reebok. Aston Villa, the team that has incredible attacking ability but keep losing points because our manager won't teach the players to defend set-pieces. I'm a centre back General, can I come into BMH tomorrow and teach everybody how to head the ball? It will take 10 minutes, max! This really is basic stuff! How can you back him? It's crazy!
  6. General, I've just read what has been printed in the press. Aston Villa has ignored the 35,000 fans that screamed for him to go! You ignore us? We'll ignore you! How do I sell the remaining games of my season ticket? When it comes to the day to day running of a football club, to quote the fans "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING!" I appreciate Randy's time, effort and millions put in to AVFC but today you relegated this club. Awful decision, season over. Fans lost, wrong move, absolute disgrace! If you think the fans will back this decision then you are dreaming of a fairytale living in a big bubble! Wake up and smell the coffee! He's won us 6 games since he came in and we need 3 wins and a draw from 8 games according to this 'genius.' What a mess we are, Aston Villa FC, the joke of the Premier League!!!
  7. I won't post the link on here General as I have been told not to, but their is now a video on Youtube from the end of the Wolves defeat and the fans reaction. It does not include the louder reaction from Albrighton being bizzarely taken off but it should show you just exactly what it feels like to sit down at Villa Park lately. I would hope you show the video to Randy Lerner considering he wasn't at the game or yourself and couldn't hear just how big of a reaction Houllier has sparked from us! Please do something about this! I'm going to sleep now and hope to wake up tomorrow to a club statement that Gerard Houllier has resigned/got the sack! I'm a season ticket holder and cannot believe I've payed so much money for this absolute rubbish! Good night!
  8. I just came off the phone to my Grandad asking me a question. He said his friend from Church has just phoned him to say that he had watched the news and they announced Houllier had been sacked. I find this bizzare and to be fair to his friend, he is old so obviously miss heard what was reported, but they are both so loyal and have followed the Villa all their lives. They love this club! It was horrible to have to tell my Grandad (who is incapable of searching on the Internet for the latest news due to his age) that Houllier has not been sacked. Even I didn't think he would want him gone as a family man so old and wise, but there you go. It saddens me more than yesterday because I didn't think I would just have to have that conversation with my Grandad, it actually hurt to have to tell him Houllier was still our manager.
  9. Just so you can see some of what this is doing to us ... http://www.facebook.com/pages/In-Gerard-Houllier-we-trust-KRO/178724068826443 This makes me absolutely sick! We're a laughing stock to our local rivals and the rest of the League. No other words for it. Nice to hear Stewart Downing be honest though on AVTV and say "The manager has to hold his hands up."
  10. General, With us now firmly in a dogfight are you going to back his decision or will you, Paul and Randy speak to Houllier and ask why oh why when we are in so much trouble he continues to have top quality Internationals playing for our reserves and 'bombed out.' Where is Stephen Warnock? Habib Beye? Bannan? Delfouneso? Guzan? etc. Stop his mind games, tell him to put his ego to one side and unite the squad again for the run in. We need Stephen Warnock, Richard Dunne and James Collins to walk straight back into our starting line up. The fact that we have players worthy of playing for England in our reserve team is an absolute crime! Get Houllier out! And give us our players back! It's absolutely ridiculous!
  11. Which is fair enough and would be totally unfair on you to comment on him on the website.. however as a club couldn't a statement possibly be released on the club website or something stating what is happening? if anything is happening at all? I agree with this General, please can we have some sort of statement regarding what will happen for the rest of the season? Nobody in an Aston Villa shirt looks interested anymore, it saddens me and I want answers as to why so many players have hit out at the manager with nobody defending him anymore. What's going on? Please fill us in. A statement is definately needed!
  12. Can I just say General. Dunne and Collins were fined for apparantly hitting out at the management staff. Well from where every Villa fan is standing I think it's absolutely disgusting that they were fined! These 2 players are rocks for us, have been fantastic players for us and as leaders feel they need to speak up to stop the management ruining us. Well every time Collins and Dunne play now they keep throwing their bodies on the line for us where as Houllier, Gary Mac and I can't believe I'm saying this, Sid Cowans himself all sit there like complete lemons lost for words from the kick off. The manager's technical area is never in use! Please, if Gerard isn't going to use that area then give it to McGrath, Laursen, Merson, Ian Taylor, Dublin, Atkinson, me? Just please get somebody with some passion for this club to do what a manager should do and motivate his team! Everyday that passes with him as our manager then you are implying that 35,000 fans, the entire squad and all our followers are in the wrong and that Gerard Houllier is the sole man in the right. The man is clueless and doesn't understand how to show any passion anymore. Please can we just bring in a legend to motivate the team, I don't care who, just bring in a former Villa man to motivate the team and sort this mess out!
  13. I'm a student, I've spent over £550 on Aston Villa this year, I've been to every single home game. I've put more commitment and passion into Aston Villa than Houlllier has when he comes to Villa Park each week! I'm not the only one either. This week we demand a club statement! What is going on? Who's in charge? Who's our leader? Stand up Villa! Make a statement and show the fans that you lost yesterday what our future is. Are we standing by the idiot? Is the Everton game his last? Or are you going to the right thing and in the 2 week break we have sack Houllier and let Kev Mac come back in to get ready for a team we beat whilst he was in charge earlier this season? Houllier = Relegation. We all know it General! Please tell Randy Lerner that all of the Aston Villa fans are begging him, for the sake of Aston Villa FC, please, PLEASE! Sack Gerard Houllier!!!!!
  14. And General, I feel bad for you. What you do on here talking to us all is truly fantastic and I apologise that we have to give you all of these messages but we have no other option. If Houllier isn't sacked in the next week then trust me, we will turn up to Bodymoor Heath with banners and chanting from the entrance, the car park and anywhere we damn well can and we won't stop until Houllier has left. To admit defeat in games before they've started, say that our first team isn't good enough, ignore and treat the fans like dirt, play so many players out of position and refuse to work on defence in training (which lead to us conceding from yet another set-piece today) it is beyond annoying now!!! It's the same every single match day, literally every game! I can tell you now away at Everton Tim Cahill will score 2 headers and Everton will win. We're predictable, we have no fight, no passion, no leadership, no balls, no guts, no confidence and Houllier is clueless. He has to go. The whole of Villa Park has spoken, if you want us to keep turning up then give the fans what they want. FIRE GERARD HOULLIER!!!!!!
  15. General, spare a thought for Aston Villa's fans. We have seen it all over the years and we thank Randy Lerner for all he has done but surely hearing 35,000 strong Villa fans calling for Houllier's resignation/sacking with banners, booing and screaming, surely yourself, Paul Faulkner and Randy Lerner now get the message. We don't like Houllier, he doesn't like us, the players don't like Houllier, he HAS to go! We are in deep deep trouble with just 8 games left. Bringing Kevin MacDonald back in would instantly lift morale, he would get stuck in, get all the players on board and would definately get us to safety. How a manager can have 2 weeks to sort his team out, get his tactics planned and then admit he got it wrong just 30 minutes into the game is shocking! I've forked out an incredible amount this year for a season ticket, I've been to every single game, I've gave as much support as i can give but still Houllier is ruining us! His style of play will take us down! Do not let our board be a bunch of cowards and sit back hoping we stay up. TAKE ACTION! Sack him! Bring Kev back in, the players want him, we want him, we sung for him today! Get him back! If we go down then we'll take the blame as fans because this is our call, just please don't let Houllier carry on. It's an embarressment! Please, I beg you, do the right thing and take the man who is killing Aston Villa FC out of the club before Everton away, I'm begging you, please! We can't make it anymore clear than we have today. BRING BACK KEVIN MACDONALD!!!!
  16. Hi General, just want to say thanks to you and the people at Villa for making the new feature online to book specific tickets. I have a season ticket but it's handy to look at how many seats are left available to work out how big the crowd for each game currently is. However, the number of seats sold seems to be going up and down each day so do you know what the expected attendance is for Wolves this Saturday? Will it come close to a sell out? Thanks
  17. Well Warnock was captain of the reserves last time out so giving him the armband could mean something. If Luke Young doesn't make it in time to play left back then I think we need Stephen Warnock in a game like this. Really wouldn't surprise me to see him called in. Habib Beye however ...
  18. Team news from the reserves tonight, Beye included but no Stephen Warnock. Could this mean he will finally make his return to the first team? I think with only 3 defenders currently available that it would be a good idea to play Warnock. He will be desperate to play and if not play for us or Houllier, play for himself! Bring him back in. Walker Cuellar Collins Warnock would be great to see Saturday!
  19. Very worrying news about Luke Young and Collins injuries. Thank god for Cuellar! If Young and Collins don't make it then: ------------------------------- Friedel ----------------------------- Walker ------------ Cuellar ---------- Baker ------------- Delph ---------------------- NRC ----------- Makoun -------------------- Downing -------------------- Young ------------------ Albrighton ------------------------------- Bent ------------------------------- Bench: Marhsall, Petrov, Pires, Herd, Bradley, Heskey, Agbonlahor, It wouldn't surprise me to see Heskey and Gabby start this game though because we really do need some height in there! Also with only 3228 seats left with 4-5 days left it could be our biggest crowd in a while! A result is definately needed! Get some height in there, get Downing on free kicks, Bent on penalties, get Makoun back in the side and let's get the ball down and play it! Can't wait for Saturday! Huge game!
  20. General, Please answer my question when you return, it is a BIG problem! Also, next season, I will probably renew my season ticket but if Houllier pulls one more stunt like Liverpool away or Man City away, takes 1 more step out of line or fails to end the season on a high then as a supporter all of my life I will continue to support Aston Villa but I will give Houllier absolute hell at games if this continues! They say 3 strikes and you're out, well he's had 2 already! The fans won't tolerate one more Houllier moment! Liverpool Away Houllier comments, Man City Away team selection, AVFC PR failed attempt to cover up GH's latest interview cock up, surrendering the 2011 FA Cup dream, losing 21 points from leading positions this season, having FX PRO cancel our sponsorship deal, Houllier failing to recruit a defensive coach, losing to Birmingham in the Quater Finals, our manager falling out with a number of players, Stephen Ireland giving his opninion of the club from working at Villa, the delayed kits, MON taking the club to a tribunal. That's a huge list of the worst parts of this season, not all the fault of Villa or Houllier but it has been an awful season for us fans in which we are still not safe from a relegation fight. I will be supporting Aston Villa next season whoever is in charge but the club should not complain next year when the inevitable happens and the fans leave Villa until changes are made to stop making this great club appear as a laughing stock to the rest of the league. I do not expect a reply to all of my points made but it needs to be summed up because next season I will still attend because I'm 100% loyal but Aston Villa will have smaller crowds and I think we all know why. Changes need to be made!
  21. General, I'm not going to come on here and talk about Gerard Houllier, enough people have done that already. However I want your opinion on one point relating to him and the coaching staff. I'm a season ticket holder and at the moment, a very angry one! Aston Villa are a big big club and when Martin O'Neill left he took all of his backroom staff with him. Since that day Aston Villa lost their defensive coach and have rarely kept a clean sheet this season conceding from set-pieces almost every game. We are never organised and ready to defend a corner with confidence, we aren't good in the air and clearly are not being coached in the correct way to defend set-pieces. I've attended every game this season and something has to be done because I am bored of seeing this in every game under Houllier as manager and he is showing no signs of improving us defensively. In fact we are getting worse at set pieces, look at the game today at Bolton. In frustration today I checked the official site to find the name of our current defensive coach so I could know who's door to place the blame at for such horrific defending. You can imagine how disgusted us Villa fans are to realise that since Gerard Houllier was appointed as manager he is yet to recruit a defensive coach after failing in his attempt to recruit Patrice Bergues! We are a great team going forward but we concede far too many goals from situations that are not considered to be all that dangerous. Will Villa recruit a defensive coach in the coming days because if we are to progress at all we need one! It's a basic decision, every football club needs a defensive coach. It seems that because Houllier couldn't get Patrice Bergues that he has just given up on finding a defensive coach. I've heard that Rafa Gonzalez (First team Goalkeeper coach - promoted from reserves) is in charge of first team defensive coaching; surely somebody is trying to wind me up? That would be criminal. Please say it isn't so and that Villa are aware of the situation and are in the process of recruiting a first team defensive coach? This situation really does make us a laughing stock! Can you shed any light on this General?
  22. Well with Luke Young back, Makoun out and Petrov now back form being rested (why he wasn't just 'dropped' I don't know). I would go: ----------------------Friedel Walker-----Collins-------Dunne------Young Downing----NRC©------Bannan-----Young --------------Fonz---------Bent Unfortunately this is Gerard Houllier we are talking about so I expect we will play this: ----------------------Friedel Walker-----Collins-------Dunne------Clark Downing----NRC---------Petrov©---Gabby ---------------------Young ----------------------Bent Play a 442/433 line up with everybody in their right positions and it should be a Villa win. However, this is Houllier and lately has turned into MON with his team selections and favouring to play the majority in unfamiliar positions so I can see this being a draw or loss, if it is then I'm going to the game and will boo at full time if we do not get what should be 3 points. We're at home, against a Blackburn side our weaker team beat in the cup, our first team should beat them! SHOULD! Bring on the weekend!
  23. General, as a season ticket holder in the lower north I will be looking to renew for the very first time, however I am undecided on whether to keep my seat or not. Will the North Stand re-development be taking place this summer? If so what will happen to the current season ticket holders in the North Stand? Will we get first choice for seats in the newly built North Stand? Also exactly what changes can we expect to see from this re-development? More leg room I hope ...
  24. Well not so much 'steal' but as you can see from my account I really never post on here, when you mentioned putting it on here I just had to come on and post it myself haha. I would love for that chant to go around Villa Park one day.
  25. Not taking credit for this because it isn't mine, heard it a few months ago and not sure if it's well known yet, but God it's good and it seems not many Villa fans I'm speaking to lately have heard it: "Houllier wherever you may be, you eat frogs in your own country! Could be worse, you could be a nose, with 6 fingers and 14 toes!"
