Guy won the World Cup ffs, and **** a golden hand in front of a sheikh.
Surely there's enough material.

Whew. Made hard work of it, as always. Crowded out in midfield and largely too slow/sloppy on the ball for their press and second to too many loose balls. Great saves by big Emi, though, and the goal a due reward for lil' Emi's hard work. Never going to see the best of him with nobody making runs in front of him, though. Starting to get some players who can play out of tight spaces like Boubs (who was class) but still nowhere near enough support and movement today.

Also, our song repertoire is pretty dull, not that I would be capable of coming up with anything decent!
Even just watching on TV/Internet for 16-17 years, the songs have noticeably dried up, past few seasons especially badly. Used to hear the proper HEITS and the like regularly. Also haven't had enough good player songs to fill in the gaps (......maybe because we haven't had enough good players).

Glad he finally got a goal, shame we chucked it away. Made good diagonal runs and found space in the box several other times only to watch Coutinho and Bailey blast over.

The real shame of it all was undoing Sanson's good performance and first goal for the club. Oh, and the predictable collapse after being undone by a lazy mistake. That sucks, too.

You reckon Dendoncker's just made himself a cool few million from the Triads?

All you can do is laugh at that ending.

No support on the ball today, everyone isolated, a step late and making poor decisions in the attacking third, especially Cash and Bailey.

Good footballer, would be of benefit to our other good footballers. Injury proneness is the main worry for me, always seems to miss a fair few games, but probably won't cost too much, at least.

I don’t know the actual answer, but at times in my near 30 year support of Villa it feels like 2 games.
We had a few fairly long unbeaten runs under MON. Lots of draws and usually followed by awful runs, but still.

Just too uncomfortable coming off his line and commanding the box. You'd think with his height and build it'd be a strength, but he looks so nervy when he has move. Can't get away with that in the modern game.

We'll never win a league match with Olsen in goal. He's completely passive.

Outnumbered in midfield, useless at finishing, nearly everyone looking a step too slow. Need to get The Donk™ on and probably another striker.

Hope o reilly starts. Hope we dont go totally weak like we did vs Cardiff. Be good to see a couple youngsters blended in
Looks like as close to full strength as possible for the starting 11.

At 61 and 56, I doubt it.

He came on last minute against United was it. I took that as basically the game is secure and this is a symbol you have a chance here.
We never had that luxury yesterday.
Indeed, yesterday Emery brought on protection for Cash, a replacement for Digne, a purely defensive mid and two forwards with pace for the counter threat. Also moved McGinn to the left so a left-footer would covering that flank in front of the LB. Clear how he was setting things up to see out the game. Not the right conditions for a CM short on match fitness.

I swear he got 2 yellows as well. I bet the Brighton fans are crying right now
Me too, maybe I'm just so accustomed to him getting one on a goal kick I imagined his first in my Sunday morning haze?

Pretty laughable defence about the Moscow and Stoke debacles.
Wish he'd been pressed on the Stoke game and his general performances in the final third of his seasons here.
