They look tired. Also, why are we crossing so much with a bunch of sub-6-footers in attack? Was an issue vs Leeds, too.

based on that subs bench hopefully kesler, archer, iroegbunam all get to play 2nd half.
Yeah, gotta figure this is the match for all the kids to get a half.

Bert is the least Burnley player I can possibly imagine. They'd accuse him of witchcraft!

How did he do?
Had a couple good moves while also looking a bit out-of-sync at times, but didn't really have much to do all things considered. Second half was extremely disjointed with all the changes, stoppages and the style of play completely shifting to studs-to-ankle combat in the centre circle, so the fullbacks weren't really able to get as involved as in the first. Plus, with Ings up top on his own and no width at all, there were no overlaps on and nobody to cross to. First half, Bailey and Coutinho were dragging their fullbacks all over, giving Cash and Digne tons of room to get forward.

How did Kamara do?
His first touch and ability to move the ball accurately and quickly was transformative.

What are we thinking about Guilbert? Not massively impressed so far.
Hard to tell, we really don't have the same passing in midfield with Marv in there now so we aren't distributing to the fullbacks as regularly and fluidly as in the first half, and without the likes of Bailey to stretch the defenders, there's not much room for him to get forward.

Freddie's (not) dead!

Buendia will pick out Bailey with through balls all day if he keeps making runs like he has this game.

That's Phil off penalty duty, then.

From his Insta it doesn’t look like he’s in Oz yet, did he play later in the break than the other internationals? (Who have been out there training together)
He posted a story with him there, he's also in a couple of Big Emi's stories playing with kangaroos.

I wonder if Guilbert gets a chance over pre season
I hope so. He's smashed his loans and I'd much rather have a senior player pushing Cash than a pittance from a French side. Would let us send KKH out to the C'ship for a full season, too.

To be fair Rashica looked proper rapid in Germany but in the Prem not so much.
Similar story, though. Got a string of injuries within a few months Summer-Fall of '20 (ankle then knee then hamstring), missed a chunk of his last season at WB and never really looked the same.

There was also one game when he did a really tight dribble on the edge of the area. Think he turned like 2-3 players inside out, but side footed it just wide. Would have been an unreal goal.
Had one like that vs Wolves and an even better on vs Blades, I think it was. Hope we keep him.

Is Tyler adams worth a look at - versatile and reportedly available and if taking targets from Leipzig more realistic sadly than Laimer…
Would be a great upgrade on Marv, excellent presser and very reliable passer, but tends to pick up injuries a lot and won't want to be a rotation option, unless we're going to play two DMs regularly. He's not going to give you much going forward, but Adams + Kamara would seriously lock things down.
If you're up, you can catch him playing some primo CONCACAF murderball right now.

Nonsense, only gotten on one in his life.

With his movement, we've got to get him on the pitch with Phil and Em10.

Brisbane Roar vs Villa - Wed 20th July 10.45am
in Pre-Season / Friendlies
Posted
Playing the ball back time and again only to wind up crossing it after the Roar have settled into their shape. Got to play through the lines faster with the likes of Ings and Bailey in attack, Coutinho dropping too deep to link up properly with the forwards.
