  1. Brilliant, is this going to be another Chelsea. I'm not sure how we are losing this, let alone 3 down. Is that 3 chances 3 goals?
  2. Don't know if I can watch anymore of this, they look shit and we're losing to them...
  3. Slightest brush of Young's arm as it came over him, ridiculous decision really.
  4. Goal down, may lose it but Newcastle look poor - is this the best team they have? They will struggle this year.
  5. Guzan did what any keeper would do, never a "poor challenge" the player was dangerous running into him! What if Guzan had tumbled over him and fell very awkwardly?
  6. Not had a big impact on the game but the officating has been very poor in this game.
  7. I'm not being funny but has Hogg been near the ball outside of the first ten minutes? I think we have found our replacement for Sidwell anyway. Aside from Hogg, Lichaj and Davies I would say mainly positives from that half. Given the team sent out I'd have taken 1-1 at HT. Let's hope MacDonald realises where the problems are and tries to sort it out.
  8. I can't believe we gave Lichaj a 3 year contract! Plus side we look good going forward but I think the defenders on the pitch need to be seriously considered for 2nd half.
  9. Davies and Lichaj confirm they aren't good enough in one moment, they haven't looked great all game. Guzan should have done better mind.
  10. Why is Guzan dressed like a Wasp? That goalkeeper kit is ugly.
  11. So, if we lose 4-2 and they score four 30-yarders, does that mean MacDonald isn't good enough? No, but it would probably say a lot about Friedel/ Guzan...
  12. Albrighton has to be MOTM. Involved in all 3 goals. Milner would be the other option, real shame he is leaving does make us tick in the engine room. Overal a very impressive performance from everyone though, they can all be proud. Honestly think we haven't kept the ball that well for a few years, yes West Ham were poor but it was nice to see us play football the "right way" for once. Lastly have to say was good to see some substitutions near the end, nice touch from McDonald, I'm sure that wouldn't have happened under the old regime 3 goal lead or not!
  13. Well Albrighton has had an amazing game hasn't he? I really wish we were keeping Milner though.
  14. When did West Ham become a dirty side, certainly been very physical this half. Suppose they had to after first, but sad admission they can't compete in a passing game.
  15. Let's hope the rain doesn't effect the flow of the game, if you see my meaning.
  16. I like the half time table on BBC Sport, 2nd place. Blackpool top of the league I've noticed Clark, as Ingram mentioned he has helped out Dunne a couple of times.
  17. Instrumental in both goals. I did say he has done well and looks lively, been impressed with him. But that doesn't dispute the point, I've been reading on here he is Beckham-esque in his crossing and I have to say I really don't see it based upon this performance - he's had numerous attempts at crossing into the box and failed to find anyone each time. Still his overall performance bodes very well for the season.
  18. Albrighton has done well, looks really lively. Justified his selection. But those saying he can cross like Beckham, has he even found a Villa shirt yet?!
  19. Really good stuff this, great team performance and silky play but it does just makes me wish Milner wasn't leaving mind as he has really been instrumnetal thus far in us dominating the midfield battle...
  20. General, Are the club accepting "Football Manager" C.V.'s? I have a notable predigree having won the league in the 10/11 season with Villa and in the interest of the clubs current cost saving regime would want relatively cheap wages... On a serious note I would strongly recommend the club issues a statement clarifying the situation in the very near future to avoid a fan and media led backlash that will inevitably happen. This event is something of a PR disaster for the club in a period when there has been very little positive press. Given my personal scepticism that this particularly thread is nothing more than a PR excersize will you be providing frank responses on this forum regarding the events of yesterday and the Milner deal or are we likely to be left in the dark when matters of real importance are questioned??
  21. Yeah couldn't agree more, from what I have seen of him he looks very promising. Seems to relish and have the discipline to play in the holding role too... supposedly they don't want that much money for him either. I can't imagine there is any chance we will be bringing him in though... we'll have the "exciting" signings of McGeady, Keane and probably someone else unispiring to look forward to. One thing that is good is that people seem to be a lot more patient this year, I guess MON has been training us well!
  22. I'll be quite simply amazed if he becomes the new Milner, I've never seen anything in him that suggests he will perform better than he managed to last year. Which wasn't good enough to merit a regular starting spot. Still, we live in hope...
  23. Jenas is a CM. Is that right? Looks more like he's playing in the headless chicken position to me. I really do cringe at the mention of Jenas every summer.
  24. I thought keepers studied penalties? Everyone I have seen Tevez take has been rammed straight down the middle. I think at 2-1 and spurs winning 1-0 - 4th is now looking a long, long way off. Funny how quickly it all turns around... hopefully can still get something though.
  25. YEEEEEEES! I'm going to have to continue to critisize Big John for the rest of the game, maybe he'll net a hat trick!
