add distin and swp to that list and ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner... that would be nice... a fantastic spine for the team and some pace, strength and tenacity...

told you the tabloid rags will twist anything to create a story... thats great to hear general... most of us realise this process will be slow... for me personally, a couple of signings to tide us over, in january and then the real building next summer, will not only call other clubs bluff and not have them try and rip us off because they think we are flush with cash, but also gives the current crop, further time to prove themselves... a lot of us have come to the realisation that while a lot of our players are hard workers, they are not of the sufficient quality to progress us where we want to be.. a shame, but a fact of life... but, the youngsters for me, are potentially excellent and a couple of players are of what we would call "real quality"... have to say again though, its great to hear we have a board in sync with the manager (and fans), and that we have thoughtful long term planning... long may it continue...

defoe is a natural finisher... that is something we lack.. think he would do well at villa, and he would also allow agbonlahor to have a rest and be integrated properly into the side... moore and defoe up front would be quite exciting to see.. with gabby waiting in the wings, and the possible signing of nugent, thats a decent young english strikeforce with the potential to get even better... the talk of bent is exciting too... of a choice out of bent and defoe, i would prefer bent.... better all round player in my opinion... he would probably work very well alongside luke moore, and if we picked up bent and nugent, to go with moore and agbonlahor, then than that offers a better balance of striking partners to our forward line... not too keen on gera tbh.. but i trust o'neill....

they may assume he has plenty, but recent comments seems to be implying we have a lower amount than previously thought.. either way, im not reading too much into EVERY comment made by o'neill... when we start disecting every word, thats when confusion happens and arguments start....

saying youre not daft enough to tell anyone how much you have, implys that you have a lot but dont want anyone to know... therefore, clubs will assume you have a lot and try and rip you off... although my opinion is obviously, pure speculation on my part...

maybe he has a budget but doesnt want anyone knowing it, so we dont get ripped off?
