  1. I'm not segregating anyone, pigeonholing for effect maybe, but that's all.
  2. Maybe it is as you see it, although I didn't mean to infer that they were or are, and didn't think I did. Many on here have a much better insight than myself, and their views I respect and will still rgue with if I feel they miss the point. You don't accept my other points either then? Unlike Ellis I've no objection to fans expressing oposing opinions to myself, I'm not Ellis, and like O'leary should I here it in the wider public arena I'll shout out my view, be they covered from tip to toe in claret and blue or not. Some may by their inference or lack of contrite argument against Ellis condone his present day debilitation of the club with the prevarication over the takeover, me I like to keep reminding fans why we are firstly in this poor state and secondly look like we are getting deeper in
  3. you might have a point icklevillan mind you it amazes me how many pick up on things like Muppet, Lemmings and calling Taylor the new Messiah and use it in their daily comments in threads. its like these real smart guys who know and understand all about fractals and marks and spencer maths but have no idea about 3 at the back or a diamond formation Its also strange how some of those who know nothing of the ins and outs of a soccer club, coaching, and how to express themselves without having a dig are the ones who shout the loudest about those who sometimes do Usually they use the old addage about not allowing people to have views, something I will defend till I die, yet they by their continued stalking and criticism are doing nothing more than exactly what they are complaining about. I'll accept I'm a lunatic with a big mouth, I'm not a hypocritical one though. One of the main reasons Ellis has been allowed to ruin the club is that he ahs either bought off or shouted down or sacked those who have riled against him One of the main reasons Ellis has been able to sack so many half decent managers is because of the tame capitulation of the fans, even their complicity on occasion. I remember the detractors when Ron Saunders was manager and the hero status so many gave the man who walked calmly into his boots and then subsequently ruined the team. The similarity with the JG and DOL detractors is amazing for me anyway.
  4. Careful Ian that argument isn't in the Villa fans fantasy scenario, such things don't happen. We aren't seriously in trouble, as soon as O'leary has gone we'll have a new messiah able to take the poor squad and turn them all into superstars able to take us back to where we belong, its ordained. The bid isn't dead the club might be, but that's too depressing we can't talk about such things it upsets the real fans sensibilities, but its not as hot as some would like us to think.
  5. Good God are you SO important then Denis. These fans you keep talking about who are going to effect this smooth transition what will they do exactly if they don't get the inside story from the new purchasers, about as much as they have to stop the present Chairman Why should they give a f*&^, about you or any fan for that matter. When they have the club, then sure a few little titbits here and there and most fans on past Villa performance will sit back, buy their season tickets and blame the manager and players for the clubs failings, and be as happy as Larry.
  6. Like the wins we should have had v West Spam and Barcodes Here's hoping we get relegatged then Denis you may have it spot on for a change. Can't see it though, Blues alone have to pull back a 10 point deficit and even allowing for our run of injuries and luck if you compare both Blues, Boros and Albions fixtures and form we still have the best chances. Stranger things have happened of course but Dougs so sure we won't get relegated he closed the purse strings we won't
  7. I'd be amazed if that spiel came from Villa Park. Talk about legalise. Bullshit of the first order, here's hoping whoever is paying isn't doing it by the hour, they are certainly dragging their feet
  8. Wouldn't it be strange if Blues changed hands with new investment enabling them to build a new superstadium with hotels, casinos, accomodation, enabling them to have the Olympics whilst Ellis still prevaricates and yet again loses out.
  9. On the one hand we have Ellis wanting at least 65 million On the other hand we have a group who have 65 million but don't want to spend more than, well much less shall we say So to force the issue the Villa board employ Rothchilds Then out come accounts and various 'informed' articles reflecting on the valuation and use of the land around Villa Park. Wonder who told them that, who did the research on the planning permission a keen journo, I think not. Meanwhile sitting in reserve is another investor or three with money in big bags waiting to join the fray, trouble is they also value the club much lower, they of course are speculators looking to make a quick buck. But wait, soon perhaps they might start to become the wanted option, should articles suddenly start appearing suggesting they are football men with progressive ideas biting the bit to get to run a club Oh they have. What seems unlikely is that another fairy godfather is out there waiting to give Ellis so much money he can die and be buried in a gold lined casket, wonder how long before someone persuades him.
  10. says nothing not even decent supposition just paper fodder
  11. Nothing in the weekend press about the takeover, now I am surprised. Maybe a deal has been done after all
  12. Ellis wants too much even before the accounts were published now what he has refused twice would seem ludicros. The Comers have engineered the situation so that their bid now looks viable to their bankers to resource. In answer to Ian, there are plenty of rich Villa fans out there, trouble is none want to buy the club, but if the club was in trouble, I'm sure they'd come forward. Also, if the right package was proposed I'm sure some would invest in it trouble is no one has offered the right package, well one person did and lost his job soon after
  13. The results would suggest that the bid from Ranson was pretty near spot on a valuation of the club, and yet again only Ellis stands between the club and any move forward. Judging by the accounts his dogmatic and it seems pie in the sky attitude to the bids are doing no more than devaluing what he has anyway. Is the man stupid, are the bidders really chancers as some would suggest. I doubt it, the club is worth at most 50 mllion, time for Ellis not only to go but to hand over control, if he hasn't now. EGM anyone
  14. No. Rothschild, like all agents, get paid on results. Once a deal is done they put in their invoice. To whom though :winkold:
  15. Don't you? How long have you been a VIlla fan then
  16. Rothchilds work on an agreed fee payable on results That way it ensures a result
  17. So come on then clever clogs what is it? Ask the editor of the Mail and other newspapers They are the ones who has agreed to give the club time, not me.
  18. How about Comers offer a package that values the club at what the city says its worth Clubs advisors suggest the Board accept The other major shareholders suggest the board should accept The Chairman says its not the value package he thinks the club is worth. The comers ask for further clarification of certain valuations to justify their stance Ellis tries to delay the provision of this information, but fails A meeting is arranged with all parties present and the Comers suggest a certain action. Ellis is then involved in 3 days of discussions and Rothchilds are asked again, to provide suitable buyers based on the new appraisal of the club forcing Ellis effectively out of the club. Now you might be able to guess why there is a moritorium on expenditure and why the Mail were able to post what they did, they know there will be no comeback from Ellis There's more to come too
  19. They are obviously party to some inside information if they are willing to go to print like that. A U turn if there ever was one.
  20. Ellis has had several offers that would be acceptable to Petchey, the board, the clubs advisors and most other shareholders. work the rest out for yourself
  21. Strange that I have it from another reliable source that given an option to get Ellis out even if he didn't accept an offer, he turned it down out of hand.
  22. No you don't. If your missus runs off with the local butcher or baker or candle stick maker, or more succinctly if she is making your life hell and ruining you with her excess, you sort her out. If that means leaving the marital bed or forcing the issue to resolve the situation which eventually leads to a divorce so be it, life goes on and you hopefully do better next time. You don't sit around, take all the abuse and smile sweetly, because one day she'll make the decision for you and you will be seen as a weak willed wimp willing to take all the shit without complaint who ends up a bitter lonely man crying that the world hates him.
  23. Of course Problems happen all the time after a house is put up for sale, besides most prople value their house higher than its worth but at some time or other accept a lower offer when they realise its true value. Only the fools don't Oh and their devils advocate's
  24. If the leaks meant that my house was about to be ruined as a result and hence the value dramatically reduced, you bet I would. I have to pay rates, gas, electric, insurance and hence keep up maintenance to ensure the sale goes through
  25. Such good shape we can't afford a new bus, we can't afford to keep Bakke, we can't afford to bring in a centrehalf, we need to find extra finance to complete the Bodymoor Heath Development and now it seems we need to sell players to pay our way. Money from player sales will not be used to fund new purchases says O'leary. Please advise who these other clubs in the Prem are Devils advocate?????
