  1. Not necessarily. Players aren't going to sit on the bench while they wait for negotiations on a potential transfer to finalise. While they're still at their club their focus should be on that club and going about things as normal.
  2. Roughly translates to "Like home" or "Right at home"
  3. If reports are accurate regarding us preparing our bid then this statement doesn't surprise me. All in good time, hopefully.
  4. I find these assessments of his attitude have all come from Arsenal fans who haven’t seen him play for the last 2 years. Other than being a bit of shithouse on the pitch, I haven’t heard anything majorly concerning about his overall attitude since joining Marseille.
  5. Difference is now we have an elite manager, not one who relies on moments of magic, and he knows Guendouzi well. Plus Guendouzi x Kamara relationship is already there. Could be tasty this one.
  6. Heard from someone who follows Ligue 1 that he's calmed a bit since, not completely, still a no-nonsense shithouse but not as bad as he was, I'm told. I think back at Arsenal his relationship with Arteta wasn't great. It was Emery who signed him after all.
  7. "Marseille midfielder Mattéo Guendouzi (23) is being targeted by an unnamed Premier League club." "According to L’Equipe, OM executives believe that the unnamed Premier League club is Aston Villa, a link that would see the midfielder reunite with Unai Emery."
  8. "Álex Moreno will sign a contract until 2026 with Aston Villa."

If he's not in Emery's future plans and he's happy to let him go, then I'm not going to be sentimental about it or think he's worth keeping because Potter might fancy him. If any current player isn't up to Emery's standard or in his plans, they can leave. I know that sounds harsh, but I'm backing Emery 100% and not going to question his decision making in terms of how he decides to strengthen this team.
  10. Emery no doubt will have had assurances, and being Sawiris' man, I can't see future signings being solely Lange/Purslow picks.
  11. Whoever the player, if Emery wants them, that's good enough for me. Mad how some fans think they know better than a 4x Europa League winner. He knows what he wants and how they slot in to our side. Trust him.
  12. I looked further into the circumstances surrounding his contract termination, and it seems it was down to La Liga rules that state clubs are only allowed five non-EU players, and only allowed to name three in a match day squad. Valencia wanted to make room for other non-EU players, and apparently Lee wasn’t happy due to lack of game time, so the decision was made to terminated his contract. Apparently it was seen as a very controversial decision at the time. There could be more to it and reasons as to why he wasn’t just sold, though I also read he rejected offers that came in for him, leaving them with little choice.
  13. Watching him now, been on just over 10mins and could easily have had 2 assists. He can deliver a ball.
  14. Original report says he's "90% going to leave". To whom is a different question. I wouldn't be surprised if other clubs express interest.
  15. Started every game so far this season, but on the bench today. And there's been no report of an injury.
  16. Original article suggests there is a "90% chance he leaves" but there are no advanced negotiations. Seems like they're protecting him at this point and ready to cash in.
  17. Had a bit of a play with this purely just for fun. Turned the lion around, added F.C., white start and some added detail.

    Unai Emery

One thing is for sure, he has an eye for young talent. He gave Saka and ESR their senior debuts and signed the likes of Saliba and Martinelli at Arsenal. That alone really excites me.

  20. Didn't he say it would be announced today?
  21. If we've reached a point where we want to trigger the buyout, then we must have assurances that Emery is up for it. I'll be very pleased if he does come. Of course, he wasn't my first choice, but then my first choice(s) weren't realistic, more a pipedream. I think he's the best of the rest with his experience and I think he'll do a great job for us.
