  1. Bump. Leagues Cup starts tonight, first year of it. MLS and Liga MX pausing their season to play for a cup. First game is Cruz Azul and Inter Miami, first game for a dude named Messi. On the bench. Maybe they will be okay.

Saw The Guardian suggest he was "previously skeptical" about joining Villa.

I mean, I get it, but with Torres also not looking too enthused, why do we think that is? Weather, club stature, location? Leverkusen is hardly anywhere to right home about I must say.

Because, whether we like it or not, Villa are still not an established European side yet. It was just 2 years ago that we finally escaped "relegation candidate" and made it into mid table tier. Now, those who look closer and see the work Emery has done, sees the direction of the team, I think those thoughts can be overcome (like it was for Torres and Diaby, seemingly). But to the outside world, Villa were lucky to get ECL and would do well to repeat that season and that doesn't always appeal to the type of player Emery, Monchi, and NSWE are aiming for at to bring to Villa.

Edit: basically exactly what @Jas10 said but much better than I could explain it.

The entire series is on Peacock. Only two (including Villa-Brentford) are on USA.

I didn't know until Wednesday that any of them would be available. It's a pleasant surprise since I'm too busy to travel to any of them.

I remember they were really pumping it up during...something that I watched on USA, maybe even the last fixture list of the season? Well at least we get more exposure this summer.

Literally anyone...  He has an awful entourage, is lazy as **** in training apparently, and always seems to find himself involved in drama off the pitch.  His performances since he moved to Juve have dipped significantly for both club and country.

If we could get the Schalke version of McKennie, the guy who seemed to give a ****? Yeah, I'd take him. But he's gotten out of shape and entitled at Juventus, which isn't a surprise as I don't see that as a particularly hard working club.

  5. Watched a lot of leeds this year (don't judge me, they had a lot of Americans). Gnonto was their brightest player every time I watched them play.

Believe he would be an excellent signing. Could be used as a spark off the bench or as a starter in the Bailey role.

That’s exactly what I think will happen.

In the that set up we wouldn’t have Cash.

It’s basically 3 at the back in possession with Konsa RB out of possession.

That'd make sense, but it would require a right midfielder further up the field to be more attacking and more wide. Don't currently have that player, in my opinion.

Torres as LCB, Mings as CB, Konsa as RCB.  Moreno basically plays as a left-winger.  If we're defending, Moreno drops to LB, and everyone else moves across with Konsa as RB.

    It's a complete non-problem.

This makes a lot of sense to me.

But would probably require a much better RB than Cash to execute it properly.

I know, maybe not reliable as unknown who they are, but IF true seems Ancelotti wants Chiesa but Perez is refusing to sanction it as he wants to put all his eggs in getting Mbappe and that were going to offer €60m...

Cites the Daily Mail as a source, so who really knows how credible the rumor can be.

Seven pages from Evans saying vague statements like interest. Going to need to see some actual concrete links.

Tom Bogart is extremely reliable and connected to USMNT players. If he says Villa are in, they are most likely in.

Seems he's played 40+ games at RM or RB according to transfermarkt so he might be one to play as a RB who comes into midfield while also being able to play as the CDM or RM if we are closing out a game.

I really cannot imagine him as a RM. Defensive RB in a pinch, maybe, but he's at his best as a ball winning CDM

  11. Seen a lot of Tyler Adams, as an American myself.

Hes very good. He's Marv with more technical ability. Not sure where he fits, to be honest, as he needs more minutes for the next USMNT team, and he's likely captain material soon enough. Needs minutes to beat out McKinnie.
