  1. It was clear, especially when Cou came on, that this team performs at a different level on the pitch when it is in a wider 433 without McGinn. Everyone fits so much better and it feels more seamless than it has looked since the beginning of the year.

Also helps when we aren't asking the fullbacks to also be second strikers.

He's American and has always been known as a high presser. Not the suicidal man on man pressing Bielsa is known for though.

He had a horrible stint at RBL so it was a huge gamble going for him. Looks like he actually put his preseason to good use.

RBL gave up too soon, IMO.

  3. I was a Steve supporter. I follow Rangers from a distance and saw things there that made me believe that he knew what he is doing.

Now, he looks worse than Lampard and far worse than Rooney from the English international turned Manager pile.

Villa has far too much talent to allow this to go on much further

  4. Not going to be a popular opinion, but I agree with Gerrard, as far as Mings spot in the team.

Now I don't think Konsa deserves it either, but Mings hasn't shown the capabilities to be in a better form than Chambers at the moment.

Surely they’re in big trouble this season? During which month do we think they’ll sack Frank? I’m going for November.

  6. Reminds me...

I went to my first professional match 2 weeks ago, saw the Hell is Real Derby between Columbus SC and FC Cincy. Atmosphere was great and Columbus managed to snag Cucho, who has torn through the MLS since arriving.

The quality is much better than it was several years ago. It's better than the Championship, but I think an MLS All-Star team probably gets relegated 9 times out of 10. As opposed to a few years ago when it was Landon Donovan and 80 year old Beckham. The quality I saw that Sunday has caused me to start paying more attention to the league as a whole. They have the most complicated structure I've seen in a top league, but with an MLS team finally winning Champions League, I expect them to start relaxing the rules slightly more.

    Arsenal - Jesus

    Spurs - Bissouma & Richarlison

    Raphinha to Arsenal or Chelsea.

Probably more to come from the "big 6".

If we stand any chance of even a top 8, we need to make some big, big moves in the transfer market, going to be interesting to see if we do.

How are we expect to compete with teams that sign Jesus? Christ that's hard.

The handmaid's tale looks more realistic as each year passes.

I'm not sure America will be a democratic country by the time my kids are grown up.

I hate to tell you this, but we (America) aren't a Democratic Country anymore. They have rolled back two major human rights rulings the past few days and Clarence Thomas is already taking aim at contraceptions and gay marriage in his writings.

The monotone badge looks infinitely better than the full ( washed out against blue yellow lion ) version IMO.

Gives me hints of the tweak direction we should go in with it!

I agree. I love the way it seamlessly is integrated into the rest of the kit.

    Good old Yankee Eric.

Where is he now I wonder?

Hopefully above Gresford in the thread pecking order.

  11. It's unfair to blame the individual fitness of a player as well. This is a problem that is brought on from the amount of games an Premier League team has to play, the time in which it has to be played, and the lack of a squad to rotate in.

The plan and tactics work. Now it's up to Gerrard and the recruitment team to find a squad that he can use to rotate in and out. Not useless defenders like Marvelous and the kids on the bench.

The majority of those players played on Thursday night too and at the end of a long season. City had a full week to prepare.

City can field 2 teams that could beat Villa's starting XI.

Not sure what changes/subs he could make. He has no rotation because, as we all saw with Marv, the depth in the squad is terrible.
